41 A Bored Magician Is A Dangerous Magician

(A/N: Extra chap as thanks to the dude who reminded me Irisviel was 9. Dodged a bullet there.)

Fuyuki, Japan,

Ruined Shinto District,

"....What?"

Oda Nobunaga looked... visibly taken aback, she'd been rejected instantly? Without even explaining her offer? It wasn't like this was the first time she'd been rejected, the religious fools and the peace loving idiots oft did the same... but, never so fast, not without trying to reason and definitely never without trembling in fear...

This... This foreign man even had the gall to not even consider.....no, he didn't even look her way when saying it!

The Demon King of Sixth Heaven stared down at the human in silence, being forced to actually think about how to proceed forward.... until, she finally had it,

"I offer you land, wealth, power, whatever your heart desires."

Far too lenient, but the situation called for it and she didn't have much other choice....

And it seemingly worked, Roman stopped and turned around, looking at her with his head tilted in complete confusion.

"Oh no...." Irisiviel sighed from the side, lowering her gaze, the black haired servant just gave him reason to do what he usually did.

"What is it, Irisviel?" Artoria questioned her Master's mood, even though she had a hint as to just what the white haired homunculus was referring to.

"Land?" Roman grinned, sneering at the servant with his hands on his cane, "You might be outdated up there buuut...." He pointed a finger at the side of his head, "Land is one of the easiest things to acquire."

"Then wealth? Power?"

Roman looked at Nobunaga for a moment before gesturing to their surroundings, "Narr, this is getting boring at this point but I'm supposed to be the one with one eye. You sure you can see alright?" Literally, wasn't he the one that should have been having problems with sight?

"Weal-"

"You're dead broke."

Roman cut her off instantly, again.... and, she had less than a 'nice' reaction to it, instantly, manifesting at least half a dozen rifles, all pointed right at Roman.

"Tu es, you're not the one with the upper hand here." Roman smiled widely, pleased with the conversation and just who it was with... Her reaction was rather bland though, she'd just ended up getting angry like anyone with an ego... The Magician signalled to his surroundings, "Schau dich um."

Artoria stood ready to fight a moment's notice, even if not for Roman.

Tamamo no Mae had appeared right beside Roman just a few moments ago, a smile on her face as her tails waved around behind her.

Minamoto no Raikou dragged her massive sword across the ground, approaching them in a jovial manner, "Did Mo-.. I do good~?" Her voice was more melodious than before, probably because she was happy about having terminated the Oni servants... She hated them a lot after all.

The Archer class servant even noticed Kagetora staring up with that eerie unsettling smile of hers... This was definitely not going to go in her favour. She had no Master, the leylines under the city didn't offer enough magical energy in this area and Nobunaga was smart enough to understand that fighting wasn't even an option.... Not to mention the strange weapons this man used.

"Master, Master, another servant entered my Bounded Field.." Tamamo didn't seem the slightest bit bothered by her presence, instead choosing to prioritise her given duties instead. She was such a dutiful wi-*ehem* person, person! Wasn't she?

"What'll you do?" Roman smirked.

"I will not forget this."

"That's what I'm counting on.. now, off with you."

The Magician walked away, no longer interested in Nobunaga, it felt just like talking to some Chuuni Edgelord with immense ego and he had met more than enough of those throughout his life...

Oda Nobunaga faded into particles of energy, staring at his back with a vengeful gaze... He would pay for humiliating her this way.

The rest of the day passed relatively normally to be completely honest.. Well, as normal as it could be with 4 servants now living in the same mansion, 3 of them under Roman himself. Sakura seemed to be shuffling around doing her own thing and while the Master of the House had attempted to spoil her or at least get along better, it ended in failure due to the girl's humble and reserved nature.

Luviagelita Edelfelt had become more amiable, talking in a lower voice and being mostly understanding. Roman didn't hold anything against her, he never really had, considering her age BUT, it was well within his nature to annoy her as much as possible using her own misunderstanding and that was exactly what he did each time they encountered one another...

Still, Roman wasn't quite willing to accept their marriage.. no, he had his own lines. He knew he never would be okay with something like it whether he had a choice or not.

So, another day passed at the Edelfelt cum Trambelio mansion, Waver had returned in the evening but hadn't spoken since prompting Roman to think that the man was really lacking in confidence and easily prone to wallowing, traits Roman neither understood nor liked...

The night passed in silence, no battles took place and no humans went missing. Some of the newly summoned servants had been out and about scouting the city but nothing more. Ruler, Shirou Amakusa Tokisada, offered prayers for the poor that he presumed to have died in the wake of the Shinto District fighting not knowing that Roman had gone to great lengths to ensure none died needlessly. Amakusa lamented that he didn't arrive sooner all the same, perhaps the destruction could have been avoided.

For other Masters, Kayneth El Melloi seriously began to consider withdrawal, if not for fear of consequence then for his fiance's affections for his own servant, it was nauseating and hard to ignore now... By the time the Sun rose over Fuyuki the next day, he'd made his decision...

Kiritsugu Emiya seriously considered his options, it was terrifying to have events occur exactly as someone thought they would, more so because this 'someone' was an incredibly whimsical and chaotic entity... He knew well enough the nature of his abilities now and understood that forcing the man into a situation where he had no prana to use would allow a kill with certainty.. The Grail War could proceed normally then..

On other topics, a total of 16 servants had been summoned so far out of whom, 3 were already dead, their energy being sent directly to the Grail.

Roman sat in his office, whirling around a set of keys as he hummed,

"I don't like this.."

He muttered to himself,

"Not at all."

He reaffirmed, placing down the keys and taking a sip of the wine lying on the table.

This... This was going too well and he was confident enough to know or believe that not much would really come in the way of his goals anymore.. Well, 'not much' that he wasn't accounting for and that was precisely why he didn't like it... It was getting... boring..

The Magician chuckled to himself, downing the glass in one go as he realised that he was about to do something incredibly stupid.. People would usually be happy with his current dilemma..

That aside, he had the perfect way to make it boring no longer.

"It's time to go rogue."

He needed at least 12 servants dead anyway, the previous plan wouldn't have allowed that lest he convince the others to kill their own servants or at least, order his own to kill themselves and that wasn't something he was about to do....

It would also be mildly entertaining to see his 'allies' struggle against him not knowing that he had no intention of ever harming them in the first place.
