92 Chapter 91: My days

In this moment, I found myself facing the notorious Black Dogs, rogue wild fairies that had instilled fear in people over the years.

[Mad Enhancement has been activated.]

[Your overall parameters has been increased by 10%]

[Your mental sense has been reduced.]

A surge of power coursed through me as I activated Mad Enhancement, boosting my overall abilities by 10%. However, it came at the cost of dampening my mental senses. Despite that, invoking this skill injected me with newfound energy.

"AA!" I bellowed as I charged headlong into the midst of the Black Dogs. Two lunged at me, attempting to sink their teeth, but I seized them with my bare hands and forcefully collided them together. "AA!!"

A primal bloodlust consumed me, mingled with pain, yet within my frenzied state, all that spilled was the blood of these formidable Black Dogs. Limbs, flesh, and blood sprayed into the air, only to cascade onto the verdant glass and dirt beneath.

"Master, behind you! The boss is approaching!" Medb's voice, hanging behind my waist, jolted me to the imminent danger.

Whirling around, I was confronted by a colossal Black Dog, its lethal fangs mere inches from my face.

"GRR!" I clasped its fangs with my bare hands, initially dragged backward by its force. However, I halted its advance and, summoning all my strength, hurled the giant Black Dog to the other side.

[ᛖᚾᚺᚨᚾᚲᛖᛗᛖᚾᛏ ᚠᛁᛊᛏ] (Enhancement Fist)

Infusing my fist with a potent rune spell, I delivered a forceful blow to the Black Dog's head, crushing it with a resounding boom.

[You have leveled up!]

Even earned a level from that encounter.

As the last foe fell, I exhaled heavily, and with a sense of finality, deactivated my Mad Enhancement skill.

I observed as two more Black Dogs charged towards me, choosing to stand my ground. Just in the nick of time, two arrows zipped through the air, putting an end to their advance.

"I thought you weren't going to participate?" I smirked, feeling two pairs of arms wrapping around me. Simultaneously, I sensed the soft touch of two sets of flesh against my back.

"Hn~ Hm~! I just thought that my wanna-be Kratos master needed some help," Kama remarked, rubbing her soft cheek against mine.

"Oi! Get away from master and get off your smelly butt!" Medb protested from her position hanging behind me.

Kama clicked her tongue and gracefully leaped beside me. At 156 cm, she stood in her second ascension, having grown considerably from her childlike form.

I hadn't intended to summon her, but she materialized herself. Unlike traditional servants, Kama possessed the ability to summon herself and exist in a materialized form as she pleased. Given her self-materialization, I granted her permission to evolve to her second ascension.

"What's your size?" I asked, curious if it matched Sakura's.

"89 cm," Kama grinned, sliding her silky blouse-like outfit to reveal the curve of her developing bosom. "Wanna touch it? I might allow you to feel my goddess-like body if you beg like a lecherous slave~."

I rolled my eyes. Her confidence never failed to amuse, though I couldn't help but wonder if she had completely forgotten her male identity or if she simply enjoyed teasing me by acting in a flirtatious manner.

"Master! Don't fall for this lecher of a man. You still have a wife. Lady Morgan won't be happy!" Medb protested, detaching herself from my waist and hopping forward.

"You are one annoying bug. You sure are lucky to be under the protection of the master, or I would have erased you out of existence," Kama coldly cursed Medb, clicking her tongue in frustration.

"Oh yeah, bitch? Come and bite me!" Medb smirked confidently, fully aware that I would intervene to protect her.

I shook my head, letting them exchange their banter for a bit. Just then, another figure emerged from the darkness.

"Yo, boss! I caught a deer. Shall we go for dinner?!" Cu Chulainn approached, dragging a deer behind him.

"Yes," I smirked, deciding to cook for the eclectic group gathered around.

[Merlin: Your Majesty Lot, you were absolutely right about Artoria. Her magical potential surpasses her sword skills! She's a genius!]

I engaged in a conversation with Merlin after the dinner, discussing the magical device I had gifted to Artoria. Merlin couldn't help but praise Artoria for her exceptional magical aptitude, stating that she had the potential to enchant more intricate and formidable spells than even himself.

[Artoria: Gimme that! Hey, Uncle, how are you doing? I missed you so much!]

I rolled my eyes, "We literally met yesterday."

It wasn't as though I hadn't seen Artoria at all. It had been two years since Artoria left with Merlin, and I occasionally visited her during that time. I had intended to maintain some distance or allow her space, but Merlin informed me that she had started spiraling into depression, refusing to eat for days.

I treated Artoria like any other child, underestimating the severity of her situation. I mean, imagine a voracious eater like Artoria refusing food?!

However, the situation had improved. She had begun referring to herself in the third person.

[Artoria: Hehe! Even just a second away from Uncle makes me sad.]

Artoria chuckled, radiating a warm smile.

UwU, she still looked adorable ⸜(。˃ ᵕ ˂ )⸝♡

Ahem.

"Well, dear, learn diligently and don't trouble your teacher. Remember to grow stronger so you can protect this country."

[Artoria: Kay~!]

After conversing with Artoria, I bid her farewell.

As I powered down the device, my gaze drifted to the sky, a sigh escaping me.

Seven years had elapsed since my arrival in this singularity, and for the most part, things were progressing smoothly. Morgan had been asserting her dominance over Britain with an iron grip. Despite occasional setbacks and losses in wars, Morgan rarely faced defeat after the battle against Vortigern. Within a mere two years, she had conquered Wales and most of Scotland, relying solely on her army.

Even when Vortigern launched attacks, none succeeded in toppling Morgan. She could easily march on Camelot if she desired, but she held back, allowing Vortigern to falter. By adopting a defensive stance and refraining from attacking Vortigern, she cleverly manipulated his perception of her, making him think she was acting cowardly. Little did Vortigern know, this was all part of her intricate strategy. In truth, the Saxons harbored no affection for Vortigern; some even pledged their allegiance to Morgan, secretly acting as spies for her.

Morgan was thriving as a ruler.

As for myself, I largely abstained from most wars. My task was to conquer the southern part of Scotland, which proved relatively simple. Due to famine, most Scottish leaders pledged their loyalty merely for financial gain. In just a week, I assumed control of Scottish territories without a single battle.

However, my other duty was to diminish the fairy population. I traversed various parts of Britain in pursuit of them, issuing warnings to retreat to the 'Reverse Side of the World' or face the consequence of death. For rogue or wild fairies like the Black Dogs, I didn't hesitate to eliminate them. Today, I attempted a Spartan-style approach.

The inability to track Vivian had been bothering me for some time. It seemed she was deliberately avoiding me or had perhaps retreated permanently to Avalon. In short, I couldn't confront her for the time being.

Nonetheless, I couldn't complain. Hunting fairies provided me with valuable experience points, so I had little to gripe about. I was already at level 71.

Just as I powered down the device, laughter caught my attention. Turning around, I found Medb and Cu Chulainn engaged in lively conversation, sharing laughs.

"Pff! Haha! Your son fell in love with a girl who turned out to be your daughter! It's so hilarious, Cu!"

"Don't laugh, Medb. You have no idea the wrath in Aoife's eyes. She nearly skinned me alive."

It struck me as ironic how these two, once bloodthirsty enemies, now bantered like old friends. While Medb and Cu generally got along, I couldn't help but marvel at how they managed to set aside their past conflicts to fight for my sake.

Shifting my gaze downward, I noticed Kama peacefully sleeping on my lap in her first ascension. Her behavior perplexed me—constantly flirting with me while reminding me of her disdain for me.

On the other hand, a part of me still harbored a desire to end her existence. There was an inexplicable urge within me to see Kama dead.

"Women are really complicated even with a man inside..." I chuckled, gently caressing Kama's hair.

I remained uncertain if I could ever open up to this deity of love, but only time would reveal the truth.

---

I stirred from my sleep and gently moved Kama aside before venturing along the dimly lit path. As I approached the edge of the peak, I found Cu sitting there, gazing at the darkness below.

"Bear?"

"Now we're talking, boss!" Cu cheered, grabbing the bottle. "I thought you hated alcohol."

How could I explain to him that I still grappled with PTSD from dying by a wine bottle?

"I just have a high tolerance, so they don't affect me much," I began, haltingly, the conversation trailing into silence as we watched the plains, the cold wind brushing against our faces.

"It's nostalgic, isn't it? There used to be the Land of Shadows here, but now it's all gone," Cu remarked.

He was right. The plains before us were once the Land of Shadows, now transformed entirely. Wastelands had replaced nature, and Scathach's castle had crumbled to dust.

"Yeah, we shared so many memories..." I sighed, feeling Cu's hand on my shoulder.

"Cheer up, boss. No matter what happened with me, I would never blame you for anything," Cu laughed. "It wasn't Medb's fault either. Unlike my heroic alternate life, I enjoyed my time in this world thanks to you."

I smiled and nodded, grateful for his understanding, even though I still carried the weight of responsibility for what had befallen him.

"Boss, just a word of advice. You shouldn't create a harem," Cu suddenly shifted the conversation.

"What do you mean?"

"Don't take this the wrong way, but I think you get too attached. I once had a small harem myself, and I learned that a man shouldn't get overly attached to a single woman," Cu smirked. "We both know you're not capable of managing such a situation. Just consider it. Your mentor, along with your other women. Who were they again? Ah yes, Lady Nero and Lady Tamamo. Do you really think you can manage all three relationships?"

Reflecting on it, I realized managing a harem with Scathach, Nero, Tamamo, and the unspoken matter of Rin seemed like a daunting task. Scathach didn't quite fit into the same category as the other two, and Rin's stance on the situation remained shrouded in silence. It wasn't a plan I intended to put into action anytime soon.

"It's okay, I got this," I reassured myself, pulling out a bag of biscuits from my Inventory. "Want some? They're potato-flavored biscuits."

"I'm not falling for it again," Cu glared at me.

"These are for humans. Look at the tag," I said, showing him the tag.

"If you say so, boss..." Cu relented after a while, taking the biscuits. "OMG, boss! These are so good!"

"I'm glad you like them," I smiled, relieved that he didn't catch onto the fake tag.

And so, three years passed swiftly, leading us to the day of the decisive battle.
