Chapter 2 : The First Visit to the Nine Heavens

Three hundred years ago…

Back then, Hong Liu was a little butterfly fairy princess just 45000-year-old, beloved by all of her family, friends and kingdom.  Used to getting her way in her world, the three realms was a big playground. Who knew her life was about to change she was skipping through the peach forest, humming to herself and she finds her beloved and the only aunt unconscious. Bai Changxi was severely injured, lying in the forest ground surrounded by peach blossoms.

"GuGu? GuGu?!" Hong Liu never felt so much fear before but today her heart was stuck in her throat.

"How did this happen? I will take you to High God Ren" She picked her aunt magically and her beautiful magnificent blood-red wings came out of her back and she flew to High God Ren's hut, who lived in the peach forest, he was the best medicine king in all the realms.

"High God Ren! High God Ren!" She shouted outside of his hut, landing in front of his hut.

"What is it? Little Liu. Did you come here…" Ren stopped in his tracks as he saw the injured Bai Changxi in Xiao Liu's arms.

"What happened?" Ren hurriedly took Bai Changxi from her and took her inside the hut.

"I don't know, I found her like that in the middle of the peach forest covered in blood," Hong Liu said anxiously.

"Alright, don't worry, wait outside," Ren said, putting down Bai Changxi on the bed. Hong Lui nodded and did as was suggested. She was phasing right to left anxiously.

How did this happen? How did she get injured? Where was she? Who did this to her? The question created a storm in her mind. The truth was nobody knew where Bai Changxi was for this past year, but nobody worried when nobody could find her. Not just that her aunt was a high immortal and she can take care of herself but also because it is quite normal in her clan for people to travel for months and years after they reach adulthood, butterfly fairies love to travel. Hong Liu was mostly raised by her aunt, she was most close to her and she even lived in her cocoon.

I will find out who did this to her and then I will make them pay! She thought furiously.

God Ren stepped out of the hut with a sigh.

"How is she? Is she alright? Is she awake?" She asked frantically.

"Calm down! calm down! She is fine, but she is not awake. and I healed her with magic,"

"But what happened? What got her so injured?"

"I don't know. It could be anything at best I could come up that a tidal wave or hurricane hit her,"

"A hurricane can't even give a scratch to my Gugu," Hong Liu said.

"That's what I am thinking too, how did she get injured?" Ren said, sitting on the steps of his bamboo hut thoughtfully. Hong Liu sat beside him, sighing with relief at least her aunt was fine when she woke up she would find how this happened. And make anybody who is responsible, pay for this!

"Don't worry your little butterfly head right now, she will wake up soon," He reassures her.

Hong Liu nodded. A sound came from inside, that startled Hong Liu and Ren. They both went inside only to see Bai Changxi getting up, heaving. She threw the glass against the wall, that was the sound.

"GuGu! Are you alright?" Hong Liu went and sat beside her.

Bai Changxi said nothing, she just sat there looking blankly at the space.

"GuGu? GuGu!"

But Bai Changxi didn't answer, she looked....dead and that realization dropped Hong Liu's heart in the pit of her stomach.

"GuGu? GuGu, what happened? Look at me" Hong Liu tried to turn Bai Changxi face to her but didn't budge but Bai Changxi blinked, showing a little life in her otherwise lifeless expression and she looked up at Ren.

"You can make the potion that makes people forget things they want to forget, right?" She asked in a hollow voice.

"Yes," Ren said.

"Make me some," She said.

"But GuGu, tell me what happened?" Hong Liu asked.

"Xiao Liu, you should go," Bai Changxi said.

"Not until you tell me what is it that happens to you, that you want to forget? Why were you so injured? Who did this to you?"

"You can't do anything about them and I don't want anything to do with them,"

"GuGu, you must tell me! You are the Queen of the green forest! You can't be bullied like this, we have to set the scores,"

"Set the scores?" Bai Changxi gave out a sarcastic hollow laugh.

"I want to forget about it," She said.

"GuGu, please tell me? Tell me who hurt you?" Hong Liu almost cried, seeing her aunt like this, wanting to make her punch something hard at the same time she felt like crying. She has never thought she would see her aunt like this, someone had broken her spirit

"You want to know who did this to me? Would you be able to get me justice? Would you get me what I want," Bai Changxi looked at her little niece, she broke from the inside out. What his beloved little niece will do about it?

"Yes, tell me, tell me everything" She urged her.

"It was a trial Xiao Liu, nothing comes free in the celestial realm, is it? My powers were locked by the heavens, my memories taken. I reduce to being a mere mortal and then…"

Bai Changxi told Xiao Liu and Ren everything, how she met Crown Prince Xian Yu and thought he was mortal and a passer-by, how he stayed with her in the disguise of repaying her kindness because she helped him and then they fell in love, got married and she fell pregnant. Just when everything seemed perfect and beautiful. The royals of Sky Celestial palace find out because she was a mortal but caring the child of the heavenly crown prince they brought her in the celestial realm. They locked her in a dark room for days, treating her as lower than a life stock and Xian Yu the man she called her husband and loved him whole heartily stood aside and watched. How a mortal like her can even think about being an equal to the Crown Prince of heaven...they said. After she gave birth, the childhood sweetheart of royal highness, Princess Yu Yan, took her in the palace of the god of thunder and rain and left her in a chamber eternal hurricane.

"Xiao Liu, I want to forget about him and anything that has to do with him. Let me?!"

"Do You want to forget your own child too?" Ren asked.

"My little Ah Li, I couldn't even hold him properly, they won't give him back to me instead as soon as they found out about me, they would tie me to that man,"

Tears fall from Bai Changxi's eyes.

"I will go and get him, you don't have to be forced to do anything you don't want to do," Hong Liu said firmly. She grabbed Ren and took him outside.

"Don't do anything rash," said the wise voice of the medicine king.

"Why? Do you want me to sit by and let that Heavenly torturer do anything they want? They have bullied the Queen of Green Forest! The crown prince and his whole dragon clan will pay for it!" Hong Liu seethed.

"Xiao Liu! This is the matter of two-kingdom, go report to your grandfather"

"Oho! I will report to my grandfather after I am done with those heavenly clowns and get my cousin back! You take care of GuGu and give her some sleeping potion" And she teleported without giving any room to say for Ren.

'You throw her aunt in a hurricane, now you will be hit by one. May the heavens save the heavenly clan...' Ren thought.

"But on second thought, they deserve it" Ren turned to enter his hut to take care of the injured moon butterfly.

Hong Liu appeared by the heavenly gates and was stopped by the guards dressed in white armour. She looked up at the tall marble, pearl decorated gates.

"Let me pass, I am the butterfly Fairy princess, Bai Hong Liu from Green forest," She commanded.

"How can we know you are what you say? We never saw any butterfly princess and nobody is allowed in the heavenly palace without summons or pre-arrangement,"

Hong Liu at that moment had just one thing in mind she wanted those responsible for her aunt's condition to give some answers other than that she at that moment didn't care about anything else. Her jaw tightened and she cracked her neck, clearly, the heavenly palace has no common courtesy, seems like I have to do this my way. She unfolded her wings and they got bigger, those red lotus wings became twice the size of their owner. The guards were startled at the sight before they could do anything. She waved them so fast that a small hurricane started, that guards flew back and they were thrown to the gate they were guarding.

More guards came to help but nobody could touch the red fairy as she broke the locks of heavenly gates and passed with fierce determination on her small face, fire in big deep brown eyes and her raven hairs flying behind her as she flew with her red wings blowing away everything in her path.
