Chapter 5

Soon enough the lunch break bell rings and I head to the backside of the school. I always kept a hidden place with snacks stashed in in case I was really really and REALLY down, which is very rare. And you just witnessed that rare moment.

After school is over I head back home trying to keep a low profile. This routine becomes a regular habit for me until days pass by in the blink of an eye and its 3Rd April already. One day before my birthday.

I am usually very excited around this time of the year but this time all I feel is sad and uncomfortable, maybe a little anxious too. I am sad because this time, I won't be able to eat Grandpa Max's Special birthday cake and I miss him a lot. Uncomfortable because of the strange incidents that keep occurring for the past few days. I have been feeling eyes on me almost for a week, as if someone was watching me. Yesterday, I even saw a black car following me around. I made sure that the people inside did not notice the fact that I had already noticed them. It was quite hard though since I had to act all normal while worrying about being abducted any second of the day.

As soon as I enter my house I go to window and peek through the curtain to see if the black car was still there. Unfortunately, it looked like they had decided not to give up and the car was still there around the corner of the street.

Deciding its best not to get out of the house for the rest of the day I go to the kitchen and heat some of the leftovers of dinner from yesterday.

As it's my birthday, I feel more detached from reality than usual. I miss the smell of fresh cream and chocolate mix that wafted in the air when Grandpa Max made my birthday cake. How I would sneak in and steal a scoop of the cake batter then get caught while trying to sneak out. My grandfather would drag me by my ear and tell me to sit at the table and wait for the ding of the oven.

To finds a way to kill time for the rest of the day, I head to the attic on the corner of the second floor, opposite my room. About half an hour passes away and finally, I get hold of my old drum stick set. Well, it looks like its time to hit the music room after a long time.

After an hour of beating random tunes on the drums, snacking and dosing off, with nothing better to do, not being able to stay put I resolve my mind and decide to go out.

I go to my room, throw on a bomber jacket, black jeans and snatch away my bike keys from the table. My bike is a classic, black Harley Davidson whose engine was changed just a month ago. It's my favorite ride since I can feel the fresh air flowing through my hair whenever I ride it.

From the corner of my eyes, I see the black car starting up their engine getting ready to give chase as I get on my bike and put on the helmet. Then, in 3..2..1... I am off with a cloud of dust in trail. As expected, the black Mercedes tries it's best to keep up with my speed but I am too fast for them. Soon enough the proud feeling of outrunning them starts spreading through my whole body, but unfortunately, the joy is only short-lived as two bikes on either side of the lane comes into my focus.

Dammit!!! They even have bloody race bikes with them, can't they just give up on chasing me!!!!

This is all I can think about as the frustration builds up and I unconsciously increase the speed of my bike and blast forward towards the remote area of the city finally deciding to face these mysterious group of people.

An hour later…

I come to a sudden halt in the quiet area of Duskvile. Well, its actually not called that. Many people don't even know this place exists. I came upon this place when I was roaming the town two years ago. It's a secluded area that used to have a restaurant for passerby's who were on a trip and may get lost. It closed down a long time ago so I made it my secret spot. Even the owner of this shop, who shifted to New York with his family knew about me using this place since I was a regular customer of his when it was still in business.

Two minutes later, the two YOKOHAMA's and the black Mercedes come to a stop in front of me. I pulled up my poker face and stood upon from the doorsteps of the place and went inside, then I went to the very center of the restaurant and sat the round table. I heard car doors closing and soon enough four men in black suits entered the restaurant.

They come around the table and stand opposite me then the lean man in the center comes forward and seats himself in the chair in front of me. when he starts speaking, his words come as a surprise to me and I am taken aback. All I can do is stare in shock as he says...
