Peace Conference II

"Since we've setting ourselves up to antagonise the Khaos Brigade for the time being, the current answer to that veiled question is yes, hence my acceptance of the role." Jun said.

"For the time being? So you scheming to change sides at some point?" Semiramis inquired with an interested tone, she could always appreciate a good political game. In fact, she might be the most adept at politics amongst the entirety of Jun's group.

"Not really. You see, the Khaos Brigade is composed of several faction but they are not tightly bound. Their leader grants them power for their own ends while in return, they must assist their in fulfilling their single desire." Jun began explaining, while everyone listened with interest.

No one even questioned how and why he knew such things because for Jun to know these things was natural and but a matter of course for all of them. Jun always and all the answers and they would not believe him if he said otherwise.

"I see . . . A faction bound in such a way will shatter into its composing faction so long as they suffer a sufficiently great setback." Semiramis immediate found the crux of them matter. Then, with a devious smile forming on her face, she continued . . .

"And since we will standing in their way, a great setback is an inevitability for them. You want to stand as their foe until they shatter and already had made plans for the resulting factions." The poisonous empress concluded with a pleased look.

Pleased she was the first to understand his plan and pleased because the plan was must to her taste so far. Jun's official wives however, were not so pleased with this "loss". Well . . . half of them were not, the other half did not really care.

Cleria never even tried to compete so Semiramis being a step ahead of everyone else did not bother her while as previously said, Scathach was entirely uncaring for the whole politics game and so, she was obvious unbothered by Semiramis as well.

Morgan and Penthesilea on the other hand, specially the former, was slightly irritated.

'Over a millennium of absolute power in my Kingdom has definitely taken its toll on my ability to scheme and handle diplomacy through means other than force and intimidation.' Morgan thought to herself.

If it was the Pan Human history version of herself, then scheming and political games would be as natural to her as magecraft and considering her divine skill in the latter, that was saying something indeed.

Still, serious matters took precedence over bothersome irritation, her husband's plans and the future course of their entire group was of course of far greater importance.

"The who is this leader and what are the specific factions?" Morgan asked.

"One of them ought to be the Old Satan Faction we have already met. I assume you had us not exterminate their leader so as to not preemptively knock down a faction of the Khaos Brigade." The Fairy Queen added her own assumptions.

"Right you are beloved." Jun replied.

"At the current point in time, the Khaos Brigade is composed of four main factions along with many more scattered members embedded in various forces that answer to various individuals in a faction or are just individual cooperators." He explained.

"These are the Old Satan Faction as Morgan assumed, Qliphoth, Nilrem and the Hero Faction. The known one aside, Qliphoth will probably stay out of the spotlight for a while longer." Jun continued.

"Nilrem is mainly composed of rogue mages and although the heavy hitters will probably stay hidden, we can expect activity from their forces and the Hero Faction is a collection of sacred gear wielders, including multiple Longinus users, they will move in force in the near future."

"The one most likely to move first is the Old Satan faction who will be on the lookout for a big win to win back their reputation, most likely with support from others within the Brigade." Jun concluded.

"Doesn't seem like we'll be having much of challenge then." Penthesilea commented.

"If the main disturbers of the conference are the Old Satan Faction then from what I heard from the others, even our weaker members should be able to do fine." She added.

"Right, so we can let this be a training opportunity for them, let the juniors have some fun. Meanwhile we will be focusing on possible unknowns." Jun said in response.

"Unknowns?" Penthesilea questioned. That was not a term that were used to hearing out of Jun's mouth.

"What I said previously was information before Morgan, Artoria and Jeanne rattled the cage and so, while the Three Factions are gaining a lot of allies and a rapid pace in order to form a strong cohesive unit, the Khaos Brigade might have also added more members to their fold." Jun explained.

"I see. The Old Satan Faction are the enemies of the Devils and oppose the peace between the Three Faction so these unknowns must be related to the forces from other mythologies who are joining in." Semiramis interjected and quite correctly.

Once again the Queen of Poison showed she was one step ahead of her fellows when it came to such matters.

Electing to ignore it this time around, Penthesilea asked the obvious question.

"Any idea who were facing?"

"An idea sure. But it is nothing certain." Jun responded and everyone eyed him suspiciously.

In their heads, these Unknowns were not unknown to Jun at all and he was just acting mysterious. They were quite wrong this time around though, Jun did indeed have a solid guess but he was not at all sure whether his guess was the truth or not still . . .

"How do you girls feel about some godslaying?"
