13 Chapter 13

A/N- suprise chapter! I think I'm gonna do away with the schedule I have. I'll definitely upload a chapter a week, but I wanna upload more that that. So I'm gonna try to upload multiple chapters in a week.

I'm changing Godrick's hair back to blond instead of white. There are too many protagonists with white hair. Also I kind of want to change his eyes to golden as well, but then I feel like he will be too much like "Godrick the Golden" if you know what I mean. I think I'll keep them the icy blue they were.

Jeanne D'Arc

Jeanne was standing with her suitcase in the middle of nowhere. She had to make her way to Romania to participate in the Great Holy Grail War she would oversee.

There was something strange about this grail war however. She felt something was off about it, but she couldn't put her finger on it. Besides the fact that she could summon a servant as an extra helper in her duties, something else was bothering her.

Putting it out of her mind she found a secluded spot where she would summon the servant who would serve by her side.

She wouldn't summon the servant herself, but would let the Greater Grail summon them like it did her.

When she found a spot she felt comfortable enough with, she waited for the summoning to begin.

Finally after waiting for a couple minutes a white circle appeared on the ground. Energy radiated from the circle before finally cascading out of it, destroying the landscape around it.

Finally a figure could be seen kneeling in the center of the destruction. The massive knight held an equally massive halberd. He was kneeling, but he was still taller than her by at least a couple inches. His head was bowed before finally looking at her.

She was shocked at whom she had summoned as stats and information about his abilities downloaded into her mind. She was only given the bare bones of who he was however.

She had summoned Godrick, The Knight of Ruin. His abilities were incredible. His stats were as followed

Strength: A+

Endurance: EX

Agility: B

Mana: E

Luck: C

NP: EX

He was incredibly strong. But his true strength was his endurance and his noble phantasm.

As a ruler she knew every servant who had been summoned and their parameters. So she understood just how unique his abilities were.

His noble phantasm had multiple parts to it.

A passive ability that required him to be hit by another noble phantasm, or other type of magic, which he could then absorb and store. He could then boost his abilities even farther by powering his body with the energy of the noble phantasms he had stored.

The second use was that he could release all the noble phantasms he had stored all at once in an explosive release of energy. There were no limits to how many noble phantasms he could hold at a given moment.

The third part of his noble phantasm was an ability to adapt to the noble phantasms he was hit by.

Using herself as an example, if she hit him with her noble phantasm, he must survive in order to absorb and store it. If she hit him with it a second time, he would take half of the damage and could also store it. If she hit him with a third he would take half of the damage, and could store that as well, until he no longer took damage from the noble phantasm.

As she finished looking him over he finally stood towering over her, as he waited for her to speak once more.

Godrick.

"Hello Juggernaut, I am Jeanne D'Arc. The ruler of this holy grail war." The woman said to Godrick.

Even kneeling he was still taller than her by a short bit. She was dressed in clothes he had never seen before. He thought it must have been this era's clothing. She was holding a suitcase that most likely held more clothing, but he couldn't ask her about it.

He knew the woman in front of him, the ruler of this Great Holy Grail War and his superior for this war.

She seemed shocked as she looked at him, so he decided to stand and wait for her to speak to him.

"You're a big one aren't you?" She said to him.

He made no reply as he simply looked at her. Alaya had given him many gifts, but his voice wasn't one of them.

"Not much of a talker are you?" She asked.

Simply shaking his head he looked around him, seeing nothing but a ruined forest with uprooted trees, and upturned soil.

Deciding to find more about him later she drew his attention once more.

"We need to get to Romania." She said simply as she picked up her suitcase and started walking towards the road. He started to walk with her, leaving the crater his summoning had made.

"I'm not exactly sure how we are going to get there, but I'm sure we will figure it out!" She said with a hopeful expression.

"Can you use your spirit form to travel with me? I'm not sure how the locals would react if they saw an eight foot tall knight walking around in full plate armor." She said to him.

He simply nodded and disappeared, as he entered his spirit form. It was a strange sensation. Like swimming, however he only had to think of where he wanted to go, and his body would travel there. He could see, but he couldn't feel much, as he had no physical body to use his senses.

"Perfect!" Jeanne said as she flagged down a truck that was approaching.

The driver was kind enough to stop and allow Jeanne to ride in the bed. He would then drop her off where she wanted. She hopped into the bed and started to ride as Godrick traveled in the bed with her in his spirit form. She tried to make small talk with him, but at the moment he had no way of communicating to her that he couldn't speak. He made a mental note to do that the moment he used his physical body.

She seemed a little put off at the thought of him ignoring her, but he could do nothing about it at the moment.

Soon she motioned for the driver to stop, and after thanking him, he drove off.

As she stood there watching the driver leave, a voice spoke to her.

"So I take it you are the Ruler yes?" A man said as he sat on a sign above them. Godrick was still in his spirit form, but he readied himself as he could feel malice from this figure.

The figure was dressed in Golden and black armor and had red cloth hanging from his shoulders that defied gravity. He had a large red gem embedded into his chest surrounded by golden nuggets. He held a long golden spear that radiated power.

"Prepare yourself." The figure said.

Suddenly he lunged at Jeanne. As he did so Godrick materialized directly to his right, and shoulder charged him, taking him completely by surprise as he was thrown away from the pair.

The figure landed a ways away from them, dematerialized, then rematerialized a little ways away from them.

"Lancer of red." Jeanne said in an authoritative voice.

"You must be the heroic spirit Karna." She finished.

He said nothing as he looked at the two of them.

"I am the adjudicator of the Holy Grail War. Do you understand the meaning behind challenging us?" She said as she gestured to herself, then to Godrick who stood before her protectively.

"I see you have already met with a hero of black. What is he? A berserker? Where is his master?" Karna ask.

Jeanne shook her head.

"You are mistaken. He is not a hero like you. He is my partner and protector in this Holy Grail War. He is the Juggernaut." Jeanne said as she gestured to Godrick.

"Well, it doesn't matter. You understand the meaning behind my actions. This is a declaration of war." Karna said as he readied himself once more.

Godrick readied himself as well, as he felt power swell from Karnas Spear. Just as Karna was about to attack, another voice cut through the tension.

"Saber! Get him!"

Karna whirled around as he deflected a sword strike above his head. Saber of black appeared before Godrick and Jeanne as he stood before the pair protectively.

A fat man came running up to the pair, sweat practically pouring from him.

"That was a close one. Good thing I got here in time to help you both out!" He said between gasps. Godrick simply looked at the man before looking at Jeanne. She seemed to understand his emotions and turned to the man.

"That's kind of you, but we can handle ourselves." She said curtly.

The man seemed to take offense by this, but tried to not let it show.

"Anyway, my name is Gordes Musik Yggdmillennia. I've come to pick you up." He said.

Turning to Karna, he pointed his finger and started to yell.

"You dare attack Ruler, Lancer of red? How dare you try to murder her!" He shouted, clearly trying to earn good favor with Jeanne.

"I won't deny your words. But now that the black faction has shown up, I'll just need to deal with your Saber here and now." Karna said as he prepared to fight.

"What insolence!" Gordes said as his jowls quivered from his anger.

"You will obey Ruler, and my Saber this instant!" He shouted.

"No." Jeanne said as she turned to him.

"I don't care if you fight here. This is a Holy Grail War after all. We will not interfere in the factions battles unless it is absolutely necessary." She said to him.

The man seemed to remember the towering figure who had moved to stand behind Jeanne, and looked up at him.

"I'm afraid I'm not sure I understand who this is?" He said, trying to provoke Jeanne into telling him.

"I am the Ruler, and this is my Juggernaut. He is my partner for this Grail War." She said for what felt like the thousandth time.

"Oh. Very well then." He said uncomfortably. He then turned to his Saber and commanded,

"Saber, Kill him! Wipe the floor with him!"

With that Lancer and Saber readied themselves.

"I am Karna, son of the sun god." Lancer of red introduced himself.

"I am Siegfried, a wandering knight. Pardon my intrusion." He said before the two heros lunged at each other to clash blades. From their clash an explosion spread, almost reaching the trio that watched from afar.

The battle was intense as the two destroyed the surrounding areas.

Gordes turned to Jeanne as his stress reached its limit as he watched the two heros fight.

"Please intervene. Lancer of Red must be your enemy as well. You could fight him together with my Saber, and defeat him in no time!" He pleaded.

Jeanne looked to him.

"I refuse. We will not interfere in the fights of the factions unless it's absolutely necessary." She stated once more.

Gordes started to shout for the master of Lancer to come out, but no one came out to meet his challenge.

As the two heros fight came to a standstill Lancer of red looked to his opponent.

"It seems your master cant control his emotions. Unfortunately I'm also being asked to leave. I'm glad my first fight was with you, Saber of black." Karna said.

"I agree. I only wish we may meet again and fight to our hearts content." Siegfried said as he lowered his blade.

As Karna dematerialized into his spirit form, it seemed Jeanne had something to say to him, but he was already gone by the time she had walked over.

Deciding to talk to Saber instead she turned to him.

"That was an incredible fight, Saber."

"Thank you," he said as he bowed slightly.

"Though I'm curious as to what would have happened if I hadn't intervened." He said looking to Godrick who had followed Jeanne.

"I wonder the same." She said as she looked up at Godrick.

"So, Lady Ruler." Gordes said as he approached. Will you come with us to Millennia Castle?" He asked.

Jeanne looked to Godrick, who shook his head slightly.

"No. We must remain impartial." She answered sternly.

He bowed his head in acceptance, though his face was marred with frustration.

"Saber!" He said.

"We are leaving!"

Siegfried bowed to Jeanne and Godrick before dematerializing as his master got in a car that had come to pick him up, and drove away.

"There is something strange about this Grail War, my silent companion." Jeanne said as she turned to Godrick.

He watched as the car drove away, fascinated by the horseless carriage.

He then remembered what he had been thinking about before he had stepped in to stop Karna.

He buried the butt of his halberd into the ground and removed his helmet. As he looked at her, he knelt down and pulled at the chest plate of his armor.

He showed the scar on his neck to Jeanne and hoped she would understand.

As she looked at his fair features a slight blush came to her face and he had gotten close to her. She looked down his muscular neck to the scar, then back up to his icy blue eyes.

"You can't speak?" She asked

He simply nodded his head.

"Oh. I thought you were just choosing to ignore me." She said.

Godrick shook his head once more.

"Well. We need a way to fix that. But that will have to wait till we get to Trifas." She said as he placed his helmet back on his head.
