Chapter 4

Ryan felt the sun's rays hitting his face. Contorting his face a little, he put out his hand as a defense.

Opening his purple eyes slightly, he sighed mentally. "New day - new challenges"

Getting out of bed, he dressed in his casual clothes and slowly walked towards Jeanne's room.

"She usually sleeps too much... I have to wake her up every time..." he thought with slight irritation. Reaching out and turning the knob, he opened the door.

A sleeping girl appeared before him, hugging the pillow tightly. The picture was very cute and Ryan had a tiny desire not to wake her...

Approaching the sleeping Jeanne, he began to shake her slightly.

Jeanne felt someone else's touch, from which her eyes immediately opened. Without looking around for long, she saw Ryan trying to wake her up.

Smiling faintly, she slowly got out of bed, rubbing the sleep from her eyes.

"What time is it now?" - Ryan just shook his head to her question. "8 am. We need to help your parents pick fruit in the forest and help with some household chores."

Jeanne only nodded at his words. "Okay. Can you leave my room?" - Ryan nodded to her request and left her room, closing the door.

As he walked down the stairs, he saw Isabella cooking.

"Good morning, Isabella." - Ryan greeted.

Isabella, who did not expect that someone was behind her, twitched slightly in surprise. "Good morning, Ryan... Don't scare me like that!" - Isabella exclaimed indignantly.

Ryan smiled wryly. "Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you." - Isabella sighed. She could only note that she really was not offended by him. He's too cute for that.

"Okay, where's Jeanne? It's time for breakfast." - Isabella asked in bewilderment. Jeanne usually doesn't skip breakfast.

Ryan answered her question. "Jeanne is in her room. I think she will arrive here in 5-10 minutes."

Isabella nodded at his words and offered to sit at the table. "Sit down. Your little body needs a lot of nutrients to be strong!" - she exclaimed, placing plates of omelette and vegetables on the table.

Ryan, looking at the plates of food, swallowed hard.

For a half-dragon like him, food is a source of fuel. He restrains his appetite so as not to ruin Jeanne's family...

Taking the fork in his hand, he began to eat leisurely, washing it all down with warm water.

"Such a life is wonderful... It's a pity that I ended up in this world, although I love its history, but to be in it is a completely different feeling." - he thought sadly, imagining his future.

"I must become stronger... Strength will help me maintain the stability that I need in life." - he thought with some determination.

Sitting down at the table, Jeanne began to eat, while asking about trivial things.

Looking at this family, he understood that in order to protect them, he would need strength in any case.

A light sigh escaped his lips. He thought about how to become stronger, but there were few options in the current era.

An ageless classic could be the hardening of body and spirit.

His lineage is revealed and he could try to learn some buffing spells since he is more of a physical fighter than a mage.

He knew that if he started using his core to its fullest, his body would be partially similar to that of a dragon.

If it were possible to evaluate his characteristics, they would be around C or D. Unfortunately, his status cannot yet evaluate physical capabilities in such conditions.

[...Or you could do quests!] - Gray suddenly exclaimed in his head.

Ryan widened his eyes slightly and came to his senses. That's right, he has a system!

Having reviewed the "Open Your Eyes" quest, he noticed that all the points had been completed and the rewards could be collected.

Mentally clicking on the "Accept" button, he saw an addition to his inventory.

"Give me another quest." - he said slightly demandingly. He will not become humble before those who are indebted to him.

[Of course, master.] - having said this, the quest window appeared... Two quests?

"Gray, why two?" - Ryan asked with confusion. Usually Gray should give out one at a time, shouldn't she?

Gray didn't know why the second quest appeared, but she assumed that it was the work of God. [I think this is the work of God.] - Gray said.

Going to the quest menu, Ryan carefully examined the rewards and quest names.

First quest -

??Fate awaits you?????

- ??????

- ?????

- ??

Description - you need to go into the neighboring forest and find...

Second quest -

"Fate Crusher"

- Ticket to the future x2

- Resistance to the influence of higher entities

- Mysterious ring

Description - Save Jeanne D'arc from the clutches of fate!

Looking at these quests, there was one thought in his mind. "Does fate await you? What fate?" - he thought with slight doubt.

Shaking his head, he cleared the fog in his head. - "Gray, what are these tickets to the future?" - Gray answered his question quickly and clearly. [Tickets to the future allow the user to travel to any year in this world. This ticket is a one-time ticket, so use it wisely.]

Ryan just chuckled and returned to reality.

Having finished their meal and leaving their plates, they said goodbye to Isabella and took with them the baskets that she had left for them.

Having reached the forest, they slowly began to search and collect berries around.

Ryan did not forget to raise his guard in such places.

Having collected enough berries, they headed down the same path from which they came.

Having reached the house, Jeanne went to her room, saying that she wanted to rest.

Ryan understood that Jeanne was an ordinary person, and fatigue in such cases was normal.

"I'll leave the question of Jeanne's training for a couple of years... I can't teach a seven-year-old girl how to do push-ups?" - he thought with a slight grin.

However, the firmness of his gaze left no doubt. He was determined to cut the fate that awaited Jeanne.
