11 A Mischievous Plan

"Take this."

Akeno screamed as she shot lightning from her hands at Karna.

Although enough to kill a human easily, Karna just stood there as if it did not affect him.

"No... I can't do anything."

Akeno depressed said while hovering in the hair with the help of her four fallen angel wings.

No matter what she did she couldn't harm Karna. It's like an ant trying to lift an elephant.

"That was a good attack. You have improved a lot in such a short amount of time, Akeno."

Seeing her sullen face, Karna said some motivating words to her. It wasn't a lie as just an hour ago since he started training with her, the power of lightning had improved significantly.

"Now, fly around the palace five-hundred times."

Karna ordered and went to lie on a deckchair and have a refreshing drink.

"But... five-hundred times a lot. How about a hundred times?"

Akeno drooled seeing him savor those drinks.

But Karna didn't reply to her offer. There was no room for negotiation.

She accept her defeat and started flying around the palace which was spread across a large land.

Karna put sunglasses on his eyes and started enjoying the sunlight while her student trained vigorously.

To everyone's eyes, he was resting and chilling, but he was thinking about Akeno.

It was difficult to train her.

Not that she was a bad student and didn't listen to him, but to grow properly one needs strong enough opponents to fight with.

And he was too strong for her. He could feel that her attack power increased but she couldn't, and that could psychologically slow her down.

While he was thinking, he saw Akeno flying above the training ground after completing one of her rounds.

He just shot a simple arrow at her that hit her wing.

"Ahhh..."

The arrow didn't pierce her but just put a paralyzing effect on them for a second, making her lose her balance.

But she managed to control her wings and avoided falling to the ground.

"Keep the focus on your surroundings."

Karna commented and went back to enjoying his drink while Akeno understood and started flying.

"You should hear your advice, Lord Karna."

Karna heard a familiar feminine voice from behind her.

"Oh... Rias. You are too good, I didn't know that you were standing here for five minutes. Was it an invisible spell?"

Karna taunted the redhead making her pout with embarrassment. He knew from the start that she came to her palace from the start.

"It is an invisible cloak that I borrowed from my father."

Rias replied as she walked near him so he can see her.

"So how are you here?"

Karna asked as he wasn't expecting her to visit them so soon.

"I was just missing Akeno."

Rias replied ignoring his gaze as it was just an excuse that was noticed by Karna.

"Very well, then play with her as much as you like, Rias. I will be going out for some days."

Without arguing, he just stood up and started walking inside the palace.

"No wait... you can't go..."

Rias burst out only to regret it. She was now thinking of every reply that could justify what she said.

She came here mostly because of him and a little for Akeno, but now he was leaving them. She felt quite unlucky.

"I can't go? Why, Rias?"

Karna asked with an innocent face as he felt like playing with the Gremory heiress.

"Oh, nothing... I thought it was disrespectful to leave just when a guest appeared."

Rias who could find an answer replied. She figured that Karna cared about things like honor and values so this might be a good reply.

"You are here to meet Akeno thus you are her guest."

Karna replied with a smile. He shot down the little devil with few words who was unnecessarily struggling to find a counter.

Seeing that no word will come out of her mouth, Karna left after giving her a winning smile.

"Ah... I never knew he also had a sharp tongue."

Rias took a deep breath.

Now since he's gone what she's going to do?

'Oh yes Akeno. I forgot about her.'

Suddenly she remembered her new friend once thoughts of Karna disappeared from her mind.

She saw him flying above the ground and was too engrossed to notice her.

Rias brought her four devil wings and flew to her.

"Akeno, how are you?"

Rias asked cheerfully as she caught up to her fallen angel friend.

"Oh, Rias, when did you get here?"

Akeno replied with surprise, nonetheless she was happy to see her but she never stopped flying around the palace.

"Some minutes ago. I was there to meet you and Lord Karna but is disappointing that he left for a few days."

Rias replied with a sad expression while flying alongside Akeno.

"Yeah, I am sad too. But I think it's a serious matter, maybe related to the attack on your territory. He might not come back soon."

Akeno said.

"Huh? Do you know where he went?"

Rias asked curiously. Her interest was piqued as the event that happened in her territory came into the conversation.

"Lord Karna told me that he will be going to Heaven for a few days and to take care of myself in his absence."

Akeno replied.

"So heaven? Hey, Akeno, how about we go there?"

Rias asked wishing that she could spend more time with the sun god there.

"To heaven?!?! What if the angels there try to kill me? Don't they hate fallen angels?"

Akeno rejected Rias' offer because of fear of Angels who were enemies of Fallen Angels even though it was a time of peace and not war.

Hybrids like her don't enjoy protection like normal supernatural beings do. Hybrids tend to be hunted down by everyone.

"Don't worry, Akeno. If you are with me no one will dare to harm you. Don't forget that I'm the sister of the Sirzechs Lucifer."

Rias boasted haughtily but it did manage to calm the fallen angel down.

"My brother is going to visit Heaven too. We can go with him."

Rias said her plan.

"But won't Lord Karna get angry if I go there without his permission? I have to take care of the palace in his absence."

Akeno said.

Karna had given her shelter, and food and even accepted to train her. For no reason, she would want to disappoint him.

"Ah Akeno you overthink too much, there are so many servants who can take care of the palace. And about angering Lord Karna, nothing like that will happen, just believe me."

Rias grabbed her hand and tried to take her to the ground.

But Akeno resisted.

"Fine Rias I will come but first let me complete the task that I was given."

Akeno said and continued flying.

"Oh right, I'll also do it with you."

Rias understood her and accompanied her friend in completing the task.

But by the end of it, none of the girls had any energy left in them.
