Chapter 4: Saving the hero? Ah, the irony!

The alley was completely silent. Shinji Matou's corpse lay on the ground, split in two. Out of the darkness came a decrepit old man who walked with a cane, he seemed to watch every step he took.

"Even Rider was eliminated..." he commented ruefully. "To think that there is a magus as competent as this master in this war. I wonder who he is, he should be quite famous to be able to stack Bounded Fields like that in an instant."

Zouken sighed in disappointment.

"It seems that we are not destined to win this time either, the lineage of the matou has fallen to the ground." Insects began to come out of his feet and collected the corpse.

Seeing his descendant's body, Zouken felt nothing but sheer disappointment, though he had partly anticipated this outcome.

"This master seems to have a very aggressive way of acting, it's likely that he won't sit still and instead goes after his next victim before too long." Zouken deduced from his years of experience. "I'm looking forward to seeing what he can do and if he can beat that priest."

He left the alley, laughing darkly.

"Let's rest for today, master, it's not good to look for a fight right after one is over." Artoria advised.

Julius nodded.

"You're right. However, there is still something I need to do today." He adjusted his clothes. "I would prefer if you didn't accompany me, as a Servant might notice you."

"But master, I can't do that. My duty is to protect you, and I can't do it if I'm not close to you." Artoria firmly refused. Most Masters couldn't even blink an eye before being killed in a battle against Servants, after all, this was a war between heroes and legendary warriors. "I'll accompany you."

"Don't worry." The magus smiled reassuringly. "I understand how dangerous it is to wander alone at this hour, I'll call you in with a Command Seal if necessary. I may be lacking in firepower a bit, but my survival tricks are something else."

Artoria still didn't seem convinced, so Julius opted for joking.

"Or is it that you will miss me? Don't worry, it will only be two hours, you can do it, Saber." He said.

Artoria didn't seem impressed.

"You are not cut out for joking, master." She stated with certainty, causing Julius to snort, which made her smile. "Okay, I'll trust you, but use a Command Seal without hesitation in case of danger."

With a nod, he walked off in one direction, and Artoria vanished.

At Homurahara Academy, explosions resounded throughout the outer courtyard. Two men, one dressed in red, and the other dressed in blue, fought hand to hand, continuously releasing sparks.

The one in blue used a spear, and every move he made demonstrated supreme mastery with his weapon. The one in red used two short swords that were being destroyed every few hits, but reappeared instantly.

At one point, the lancer ignited his power and his spear glowed red. He was about to launch his attack when he stopped.

Lancer noticed that there was an intruder who had just fled, so he ran after him.

The orange-haired intruder ran with all his might, trying to escape the Servant, but the latter was faster.

Shirou made it to the second floor, but he stumbled from the fear he was feeling.

Everything went silent for a moment as he rose to his feet, until a voice broke him.

"Hey." Lancer appeared behind him and stabbed with his spear.

Shirou waited for the pain, but it didn't come.

"Don't try to turn my future ward into a doughnut, please." Julius appeared between them with cerulean mana particles surrounding him.

He was holding the spear. Using all of his strength, he pushed forward and sent Lancer flying, who wasn't prepared for someone to appear out of nowhere without him noticing.

Shirou reacted and wanted to ask.

"Who...?" He didn't have time to finish his sentence as Julius grabbed his shoulder and pulled him back. Incredibly dense fog filled the passageway.

The magus dragged them towards a wall as if he wanted to run into it.

"Wait!" Shirou yelled in concern, but was once again surprised to see how they both simply passed through an a priori solid wall.

Behind them there was a crash and the wall they had just passed through collapsed. Lancer jumped towards them.

'Shit, I can't use Mana Burst anymore.' Julius quickly thought of a way to avoid the attack, but stopped himself. 'Perfect, this is what I wanted.'

The red clothed man intercepted Lancer and collided with his weapons.

Behind the Servant came the master. She had brown hair and was also dressed in red.

"Stop! Are you Lancer's master?" The girl called Julius.

"No, I'm saving him." Julius explained as his eyes suddenly lit up. "Stay close to me, Archer's master."

More than twenty magic circles were deployed almost instantly. He grabbed both Rin and Shirou, who had been shocked to see the circles appear out of nowhere, and jumped out the window.

He used a small spell granted by his Beyonder ability that allowed him to make anything bounce, thus getting rid of falling damage.

When they reached the ground, they voted like a ball, until at one point they stopped. Shirou and Rin were both stretched out on the ground, for a moment they had thought that they would die.

"If we hurry we can escape, I have deployed a formation of Bounded Fields that will confuse Lancer as to where we have fled." Julius explained to both of them. "However, this Lancer is a good tracker, let's go quickly."

"Wait, I'm not moving from here, I don't even know who you are." Rin declared. "How is it that there is a magus like you in the city without my knowledge? You are clearly a master.

Julius smiled.

"I don't deny it, I am the master of Saber." He confirmed without hesitation. "However, I do not wish any harm on either of you."

Shirou surprisingly seemed to calm down before Tohsaka.

"Why did you risk yourself like that to save me?" he questioned.

Julius nodded. "That's simple, it's because as soon as this war is over I'll take care of making you my pupil." With a confident smile, he declared his intentions.

I know I promised a longer chapter but my laptop crashed again while downloading a game, so I had to write this with my phone (I'm dying inside). Hope you understand.
