Chapter 10: Beach Day

Chapter 10: Beach Day

"It's the sea!" Shirou, Rin, and Saber jumped with happiness and went straight into the water.

Archer walked over to Julius, who had put on a pair of sunglasses.

"I didn't expect you to propose coming to the beach. I would have thought you'd rather end the war as quickly as possible," he commented. Archer was also wearing completely black sunglasses.

Julius chuckled. "With Berserker defeated, Caster, Assassin, and Lancer remain, as well as Gilgamesh." The magus took off his shirt and took out a water gun from the backpack he was carrying. "It is not productive to work too much, breaks are necessary for maximum efficiency."

Emiya just stared at him blankly.

"You really just want to hang around, right?" he questioned.

"Semantics." The water gun suddenly flashed blue light and aimed at him.

Archer's eyes widened as he narrowly dodged a wave of water, much to Julius's disappointment.

"Servants..." he muttered sadly as he turned and changed targets. "Water Machine Gun Master Spark!"

Even Saber was hit by the seemingly countless series of water beams. Archer could only watch from the sidelines as his master was forced to flee by an attack with such a name.

"Gaah!" Shirou and Rin had taken cover behind Artoria, who had brought out Excalibur and was using it to block the constant shots with extremely precise movements. "You won't beat me, master!"

"H-How is that possible?" Julius took a step back in fear.

Suddenly, the magus felt a hand rest on his shoulder. He turned around and saw Emiya smiling at him. He tried to escape, but it was too late and he couldn't match the strength of a Servant.

Luckily, there was no one else on the beach, so no one could see Julius fly through the skies before falling headfirst into the water. He surfaced as he muttered things like 'experiment failed' or 'stupid superhuman reflexes'.

He was so disappointed that he didn't realize that Rin and Shirou had moved to his side until they both splashed him in the face.

"You two... the audacity!" he exclaimed as he proceeded to try to return their assault.

In the end, it was declared a tie.

"Look, Shirou, I found an octopus, maybe you can cook it?" Saber picked up the animal.

"Haha..." Shirou watched as the poor animal squirmed. "Perhaps it will be better to buy it directly from the market."

Saber was saddened. "Is that so?" Her words made Shirou nervous.

"I know, what do you think if we all have octopus for dinner tonight?" He commented it out loud for all to hear.

"Okay for me." Julius answered, he and Rin were playing cards and she nodded in agreement.

Artoria was so pleased that her Ahoge began to move as if it had a will of its own.

'Is she a dog?' Julius smiled wryly upon seeing this.

Shirou seemed pleased that Saber was cheerful again. "Alright! I'll do my best to prepare a good dish."

"Yay!" Artoria raised her arms in the air.

"Where has Archer gone?" Rin looked around her and noticed that her Servant had disappeared.

"I'm here, master!" A familiar voice came from the rocks beside them.

Archer jumped from a height of twenty meters while he did some pirouettes in the air.

"Almost, 9 points." Julius gave him a thumbs-up as he came out of the water.

"Huh, what would you know?" Archer narrowed his eyes at him.

The magus shrugged. "The landing wasn't perfect, clearly needs more practice, even an amateur would know that."

Rin, who was next to him, just sighed.

"Guys..."

At night, they were already back at the Tohsaka residence. Illya was still unconscious, and Julius estimated that she would remain unconscious for at least a couple of weeks.

"You really do cook well, Shirou." The magus congratulated the boy as everyone nodded except for Artoria, who was too busy eating.

Shirou scratched the back of his neck in embarrassment. "Well, I still have a lot to improve."

They finished in a few minutes and this time they started the serious meeting.

"Okay, I think the next target should be Caster since they tend to get stronger as time goes on." Rin commented, remembering the books she had read about it. "The sooner we defeat her, the better."

Archer nodded.

"I feel the same way," Julius reverted to his aristocratic mode quite naturally. "Medea has also summoned Assassin, this is a rare case, but we can take advantage of it to end two birds with one stone."

Saber was interested in Assassin since her master had told her who Sasaki Kojirou was, and he told her about his peculiar existence.

Julius noted her interest.

"Saber, you will take care of Assassin." He dictated. "I think the best thing we can do against Caster is use my [Disruption] to get Archer close enough so we can finish her off quickly. No wait, I have a better plan."

They all looked at him confused by his sudden change of heart.

"I recently had an idea to improve my personal magecraft." Julius explained, "I'll need a bit of time to test if it works, but if it does we can easily kill Caster.

As he spoke, he heard his system beep and the progress bar reached 100%, he was ready to advance to the next Sequence.
