"Hey, you! You scoundrel!" Blackfire screamed. She attempted to rise but was unable to move; her body was incapacitated.

Observing Raiden's indifference, she yelled, "Damn it! Damn you, just kill me!"

"I won't let him do that, sister," said Kori as she approached.

"KORIADN'R! YOU DO IT THEN! Haven't I caused everything to go terribly bad? Why are you letting me live?" Blackfire screamed.

"Komand'r, I cannot do that. I still cherish you as my dear sister, despite all the wrongs you've committed. I still see good in you," spoke Kori.

"You're delusional! There is no good in me," replied Komand'r.

"I know about the experiments, Komand'r. They changed you, and I feel bad for you. You even stopped the citadel from releasing mass destruction weapons on Tamaran. For that, I am thankful. Although Tamaran may be lost today, I promise I will come back and free it. Not just Tamaran, but all of Vega will be free from the citadel's tyranny," promised Kori with hope in her eyes.

"Tsk, damn it, go, just leave. The crazy guy won't come after you from now on as well. I made sure of that," spoke Blackfire.

Hearing the peculiar description, Raiden spoke, "Lobo?"

"I managed to convince the council to cancel the bounty. They wouldn't dare release it again, or Lobo will take it as an insult. So you're pretty much free. However, you will become persona non grata on Vega, and many other systems will follow suit," explained Blackfire. She convinced herself that it was her last goodwill for her little sister.

"Thank you, sister," spoke Kori.

"Hmph."

"Let's go, Kori. This place isn't safe anymore. Many other ships are probably on their way here," said Raiden, calling for Kori. He then carried the sleeping Cary and started moving. Cary had immediately gone to sleep after deactivating her power; she apparently had exhausted her body.

'Blue ring… She looked just like the Green Lantern, Hal. I heard of other colors. She said something about hope. Does that mean the Blue Lanterns use the power of Hope? Guess that explains why her magic wasn't working earlier.'

"Where do we go, Raiden?" asked Kori.

To which Raiden smiled and said, "There are multiple ships here that can take us out of the Vega system. We'll just steal one."

"Come on."

Raiden, with Cary on his back and Kori behind him, ran towards the mothership's hangar. Finding a ship suitable for the three of them, they got on and started their journey once again.

"We're finally leaving Vega," spoke Kori.

"Yeah, the citadel won't be a problem for us anymore," said Raiden.

"Yeah…"

Raiden, seeing that Kori was saddened, went to her and placed his hands around her. "We will be back."

"Stronger."

Kori nodded, then said, "Yes, we must."

*WARNING* *WARNING*

Kori rushed to the ship's controls and said, "Raiden! Check this out, a small object getting closer to the ship, very fast."

"An enemy? Already?"

In front of the ship, Raiden looked at the window as a bright light finally emerged. It was that of a man, with distinctive and otherworldly physical appearance, characterized by his vibrant blue skin, reflecting his affiliation with the Blue Lantern Corps. He wore a form-fitting blue costume that covered his entire body, adorned with the emblematic Blue Lantern symbol prominently displayed on his chest. With pointed ears, clearly an alien, his overall demeanor exuded an air of regality. A flowing blue cape completed his ensemble, adding a touch of elegance to the hopeful figure that stood as a beacon of optimism.

"Greetings, I am Bro'Dee Walker, a devoted disciple of the Blue Lantern Corps. I've arrived to welcome our newest sister into the embrace of hope. I shall be her guide, imparting the wisdom of our ways. Within the vast cosmos, our purpose is to sow the seeds of hope, and our radiant light is the embodiment of unwavering optimism."

Hearing his introduction, Raiden sighed then said, "Can I communicate with him?"

"Ah, yes. Just use the ship's voice enhancer," said Kori as she showed him.

"Hello, Bro'Dee. I'm Raiden Kagawa. I'm willing to welcome you on the ship, but just to be safe, in the air compartment, you'll have to take out your ring. I know how powerful Lanterns are, and I don't wish to endanger my allies," said Raiden, although he knew that the Blue Lanterns were not dangerous; he just couldn't risk it.

"I will heed your counsel, yet the ring remains in my keeping. Raiden Kagawa, a comrade to a bearer of hope, must possess a heart untainted and true. My trust in you is firm, and with the ring close, our journey shall be guided by the purity of our shared purpose," spoke Walker.

After a few moments, Walker found himself inside the ship.

"An unexpected encounter, a human venturing to Vega, and you, young one, bear the aura of Tamaran's trials. Alas, the Green Lantern Corps is barred from these grounds, and we, the nascent Blue Lantern Corps, remain in infancy, unable to confront the Citadel's formidable might in its entirety," spoke Walker. Then he added, "May I be introduced to the child of hope, please?"

"Well, um, she's asleep. I think she might have used too much energy, so you're going to have to wait," said Raiden.

"What is this Green Lantern Corps? or Blue Lantern for that matter," asked Kori.

"You don't know?" said Raiden.

"No."

"No need for astonishment, human. The ban on the Green Lantern Corps was enforced millennia ago. Naturally, a child from Tamaran would be unaware of the Lantern Corps or any other corps for that matter," spoke Walker before he added.

"Let me clarify. The Green Lantern Corps is a group of cosmic protectors using green willpower energy. On the other hand, I belong to the Blue Lantern Corps, powered by the blue light of hope. Our mission is to inspire hope in the universe. Together, Green and Blue Lanterns strive for peace and justice."

"Almost every planet gets their own Green Lantern. My planet, Earth, has as of now, two Green Lanterns," added Raiden.

"So you guys protect the universe? But why are you not allowed in Tamaran? or in The Vega system? You could have saved so many lives!" said Kori, as she was getting worked up.

"Yes, our purpose is to safeguard the universe. Unfortunately, the Green Lantern Corps faces bans in places like Tamaran and the Vega system. These restrictions limit our ability to intervene, preventing us from saving lives and bringing our protective light to those in need. It's a challenge we strive to overcome in our pursuit of universal peace." Replied Walker.

"How did the protectors of the galaxy get banned? How can you just watch as we suffer!" said Kori, very angered by Walker's response.

"The ban on the Green Lantern Corps dates back thousands of years, and the reasons vary. Political conflicts, misunderstandings, and mistrust led to these restrictions. It's a painful reality, and we share in your frustration. We are not indifferent to the suffering, but our hands are tied by these ancient decrees. We work tirelessly to bring about change and seek opportunities to alleviate suffering within the boundaries we face." Said Walker.

"You DON'T share my frustration! You have no idea what it's like! You, a Blue Lantern with all that power, could probably keep your planet safe! But what about me! What about my planet! The people that looked up to me to save them! But I couldn't! Someone like you could never understand!" screamed Kori.

"I may wear the mantle of a Blue Lantern, but it doesn't shield me from the anguish of loss. I, too, have experienced the devastation of losing my homeworld. I understand the depths of pain and the yearning to save those you care about. Let our shared sorrow forge a bond, and together, we'll strive to bring hope and healing to the wounded hearts of the universe," replied Walker.

Hearing Walker explain that he too lost his planet, Kori was silenced.

"Kori, you have to relax, okay? The universe is wide; many share your pain, so don't feel helpless. Tamaran is still alive, as long as you are," explained Raiden.

"Yeah, you're right. I apologize for getting angry at you."

"No need for apologies. Your frustration is valid, and I appreciate your honesty," said Walker.

"Sister Kori… Brother Raiden," Cary came out of her room.

"I heard screaming."

"Oh no, it's nothing, darling. We just left Vega. Everything will be ok now, don't worry. It's just that we have a new guest, that's all," said Raiden.

"Oh, I see… he looks funny!" said Cary.

"Ahaha, indeed he does, Cary. This is Walker. Walker, meet Cary. She's about to turn 10, but her heart is incredibly brave. She's the one you seek, the newest member of the Blue Lantern Corps," said Raiden.

"I perceive it now. Naturally, a soul as untainted as yours would be the welcomed addition. Your optimism radiates even in this space. Allow me to formally introduce myself. I am Saint Walker, the inaugural bearer of the Blue Lantern Corps. With open arms, I extend my heartfelt welcome to you, dear Cary. Embrace your place among our esteemed ranks!"

"No! I don't want to leave Brother Raiden! I refuse! The ring keeps saying that you will take me!" said Cary as she ran to hide behind Raiden.

"Wait, what! Hey! Walker! Is what she said true? You plan on taking her away?" asked Raiden, his tone different.

"Ahh, my sincerest apologies for any misconceptions. If your intention is to bring her to Odym, our cherished home among the stars, rest assured there is no malice or peril awaiting. It is a realm devoted to fostering goodness and enlightenment. Your desire to acquaint her with our brethren and provide her with training aligns seamlessly with our commitment to nurturing beacons of hope."

"I can't just allow that, Walker. I promised her mother to keep her safe; that means she stays with me all the time!" said Raiden.

"I can't just send her away with strangers"

"Ah, if such be your circumstance, why not unite your journey with ours? Odym extends its arms in a hospitable embrace to all, granted they pledge allegiance to the tranquility that graces our celestial haven. Consider joining our ranks, and partake in the nurturing of your formidable spirit through the sacred teachings that abound on Odym." Said Walker.

"I don't think that's possible; we're on a trip back to Earth, you see… I hope you understand, Walker," said Raiden.

"Earth calls to you, yet your path leads elsewhere? Young one, do you grasp the destination your journey unfolds towards? Fear not, for I offer my assistance, provided you pledge to make a detour to Odym. I assure you, the detour will prove to be a rewarding venture." Said Walker.

"What does that even mean?" said Raiden.

"I think he means we are going the opposite direction of Earth," said Kori.

"Oh... The opposite? Well, we just escaped, so we didn't realize," said Raiden.

"Raiden, I think we should go with him," said Kori.

"Hmm? Why?" said Raiden.

"If it's true what he says, he'll show us the way, and Cary will become stronger and able to fend for herself," said Kori.

"I am convinced that embracing this course of action shall prove to be the most auspicious choice. I stand not as an adversary, harboring no intentions of evolving into one. My sole concern resides in the safeguarding of my fellow beings. Hence, I am deeply invested in the welfare of Cary, my new cherished sibling."

"Ughh, Fine, We'll go with you; I doubt I'd see trouble from pacifists."
