"You know what I mean right? Picture this – we board this amazing Bio-Ship, everyone has their designated seats, the ship boasts invisibility mode, and it feels like we're in a Star Trek movie! Everything is just fantastic! But then, suddenly, silence falls. I look at them and inquire, 'Hey, is everything alright? Why is everyone so quiet?' And do you know what they tell me? Those Bastards had the audacity to tell me that they're planning the mission through psychic communication! Can you believe it? I mean, it's partly my fault for having strong mental immunity, but come on, show some respect. And now, they're off on the mission, and I'm stuck here alone. Honestly!"
"Awooo."
"Yeah, I understand, 'Wolf.' I know you're here, you're the only one who truly gets me!"
"Awooo."
Sitting alone in the ship, his sole companion being "Wolf," Superboy's pet wolf, Raiden engaged in a conversation with It, evidence that he wasn't having a great time on his first mission.
"Men, I like how batman said Observe! Observe what? Them going Stealth mode and then completely disappearing on me! *sigh*"
...PIP...Pip...Pip... Hearing a strange voice, Raiden followed it and discovered a communication button. Upon pressing it, Raiden heard:
"Megan! Megan! Can you hear me?"
"What's happening? Why did you switch to the secondary comms?"
"The mental comms are down, you fool. Can't you see? Megan and Connor aren't responding."
"Rocket and I heard an explosion in the south of the facility. Our cover might be blown."
"What?" Hearing the voices of Aqualad, Artemis, and Kid Flash, Raiden was confused and asked, "Uhh, this is Raiden. What's going on?"
"Raiden? How can Raiden hear us?" said Kid Flash.
"I left the ship's comms connected to us just in case," replied Aqualad.
"So, what's happening? Why aren't Megan and Connor responding?" Artemis inquired.
"We don't know either, but considering the earlier explosion, it's safe to assume they've had contact with the enemy," Aqualad said.
"There's also the possibility that they may have been captured," added Rocket.
"Wally, maintain a low profile and gather information. The rest of the team, rendezvous at point C," ordered Aqualad.
"Understood!"
"Be careful, Wally."
"Should I come too? It seems like you guys need help," Raiden asked.
"No, stay put, Raiden. We still don't know the situation here. We can't risk any complications," Aqualad replied.
"But you might need assistance!" Raiden pleaded.
"No, Raiden, stay put."

"Kaldur? Kaldur? He shut down the comms. Damn it."
Frustrated, Raiden slumped down on the ground.
"Awooo."
Wolf comforted Raiden by licking his face.
"Damn it! Screw it, I'm going."
"Awoo, awoo."
"Yeah, I know I'll get in trouble, but what if something happens to Megan or Connor? I have to do something, Wolf!"
"Awoooooo."
"No, you can't come. You're too big, buddy. Keep the ship safe. Now, Let's see who is the lucky servant today
Throne of Heroes !"

"You didn't have to be so stern; cutting off communication like that will only frustrate him," remarked Rocket. She and Aqualad were partnered for this mission.
"That was the intention," replied Aqualad.
"The intention was to frustrate him?"
"Yes, this way, I'll get to know him better. If he disregards my orders and comes anyway, he's the emotional type. If he stays put, he's the logical type," explained Kaldur.
"I understand. Do you think it would be a problem if he decides to come?" asked Rocket.
"He's the only one among us with no prior experience in hero work, but he's exceptionally powerful. Even if he does come, it won't pose a problem. However, it will demonstrate that he may not be the best at following orders," Aqualad replied.
"Is that a concern?"
"Not necessarily. Depending on the circumstances, disobeying orders isn't always a negative trait. But since this is his first mission, we'll have to wait and see how it plays out."

Waking up feeling disoriented, Connor surveyed his surroundings to figure out what was happening. To his shock, he noticed that Megan was bound to a chair next to him, and there was something placed on her head. Reacting with immediate anger, Connor attempted to free her, but he found himself unable to move. That's when he realized that he too was tied to a chair, struggling in vain to break free.
"It's pointless, young man. Your chair contains Kryptonite, and the room is illuminated by Red Sun Light," the captor informed him.
"What have you done to her?" Connor demanded.
"As of now, nothing. We're simply suppressing her mental powers. Consider it a short nap," the captor explained.
Staring at the men, Connor identified, "Ra's al Ghul... Since when has the League of Shadows been experimenting on children?"
"Oh, yes, I almost forgot. You've come here to stop that. Unfortunately for you, that operation was a ruse. It was merely bait," Ra's al Ghul clarified.
"Bait? You were luring us!" Connor exclaimed.
"No, not you. The Light no longer has any use for you. We've found a new and more intriguing target."
While conversing with Connor, Ra's received a message on his comms that brought a smile to his face.
"Father, it appears that the others are on the move."
…
"Did you hear that?" Kid Flash inquired.
"Yes, it appears this operation was a ruse. The League of Shadows is behind all of this, and they're targeting someone," Artemis replied.
"They knew the League would send us since this is foreign territory," Rocket noted.
"Their target is Raiden!"
*PIP... PIP... PIP*
"Raiden! Raiden! Can you hear me, Raiden?" Aqualad repeatedly called out to Raiden, but there was no response.
"I guess he's the emotional type, huh?" Rocket commented.
"Everyone, I can't reach Raiden. Most likely, he ignored my orders and is heading to the base. If you come across him, intercept him and instruct him to retreat. But first, we need to rescue Superboy and Miss Martian. Artemis, find a way to disable the Red Sun light. Rocket and I will remove the Kryptonite from Superboy's chair. Kid Flash, when I give you the signal, rush in to rescue Miss Martian."
"Got it!"
"I'm on it!"
"Alright, Rocket and I will attack in 3... 2... 1... Go!"
With synchronized timing, the team leaped out of their hiding spots and initiated their assault. Artemis took aim at the Red Sun lights with her arrows, attempting to disable them. However, the attempt proved futile, as a skilled individual deflected her arrows.
"Foolish! We are the League of Shadows. Your attempt at stealth is laughable to us," taunted the woman who had deflected Artemis' arrows.
Aqualad and Rocket rushed toward Superboy. Aqualad engaged Ra's al Ghul in combat, while Rocket focused on freeing Superboy by deactivating the Kryptonite restraints.
Upon seeing her, Superboy mentioned, "The Kryptonite doesn't affect me as much. You need to disable the Red Sun light."
Ra's al Ghul exchanged blows with Aqualad, challenging, "Fighting a losing battle is unwise. Give us what we want, and we will let you leave. Come, Shadows!"
Members of the League of Shadows surrounded the team from all sides.
Artemis aimed her arrows at the women. Three arrows were released, but only two hit their target. The woman, known as Talia, skillfully evaded the arrows and commented, "Do you think this will stop me?" Just before she could taunt Artemis further, the third arrow exploded on the ceiling, deactivating the Red Sun light.
Superboy swiftly moved to Miss Martian, shattered the helmet placed on her, and released her. He then turned to Ra's al Ghul and declared, "You!"
In an attempt to avenge his girlfriend, Superboy charged toward Ra's with full force. However, before he could reach his goal, he was struck in the chest by a laser and sent flying backward.
"Don't get too excited, kid!" taunted the man who had shot Superboy. He was a Caucasian man with black hair and a short black mustache, wearing a blue helmet from which he fired laser beams.
Charging his attack again, the villain known as Professor Ojo stated, "Good night, fake Superman," and released his laser blast. But his plans were thwarted as Rocket stepped in to block the attack.
"NOW!" Aqualad commanded.
Kid Flash raced in, pushing Professor Ojo aside and joining Aqualad in battling Ra's al Ghul.
Kid Flash, with his super speed, expertly dodged Ra's al Ghul's sword and landed several hits in his blind spots. However, an unexpected interference occurred. Kid Flash was speeding when something attached to his legs, causing him to tumble forward and, due to his velocity, crash directly into a wall.
"WALLY!" Artemis screamed. Talia then kicked her in the gut, saying, "You should focus on yourself."
"Everyone, regroup!" Aqualad shouted.
The team rallied and retreated to the back wall as the League of Shadows surrounded them. Among their adversaries were Ra's al Ghul, Talia, Ojo, and the assailant who took down Wally, Black Spider, accompanied by an additional force of forty League of Shadows assassins.
"We can resolve this now, children. I will allow you to leave unharmed if you give me what I want," Ra's proposed. He knew that Vandal had future plans for the youngsters and was willing to let them go as long as he achieved his objective.
"No! We won't give him up!" Megan protested. She had just regained consciousness from being knocked out. The League of Shadows had used a "mind overload" device created by the Brain to counteract psychic powers and induce a coma.
"Him? What do they want, Megan?" Connor inquired.
Aqualad was the one who responded, "Our newest member, Raiden. That's who they want. And our answer remains the same. We won't surrender anyone. He's a member of our team, and he's already like family."
"Save me your sentimental babble. What do you know about the boy? You've only known him for a week," Ra's mocked.
"Are you all ready?" Aqualad communicated telepathically using Megan's powers.
"Yeah, we'll take them down, and we absolutely won't give up on Rai!" Wally affirmed.
"I don't want to go back to being the newbie!"
"Then, let's do this!"
Their determination to fight was suddenly interrupted by an unexpected presence that appeared before them and Ra's.
"Impossible. How could I not sense this entity? Who is he?" Ra's and the League of Shadows were equally taken aback. The figure had seemingly materialized out of nowhere, leaving them all in shock.
The enigmatic figure wore a white skull mask, with nearly pitch-black skin and clothing, and a dark hood shrouding his head.
"So... It's me you seek? Well, here I am."
