8 Chapter 8

"May I at least know why you are attacking me?"

Wilbur faded away a few more times as he dispersed more of the electrical arcs aimed at him.

"While I would feel bad for you considering you have an injury that blocks your eyesight. You did not state your intentions and you were ready to attack. Of course I would make the first move."

Wilbur stood still for a bit as he asked "Wait I just had to state my intentions and this would have all been solved?"

Miko stopped for a bit "Yes."

Miko did not like him, she could not read him as a person, usually she would be able to read someone as easily as a book due to her very nature. But he had nothing, she couldn't read anything about him.

Instantly Wilbur was surrounded by purple pillars as Miko's energy signature rose exponentially.

"Bruh."

The sword vanished as it was replaced by his handheld fan. A quick flick of the fan as ice started gathering on the tip before spreading everywhere as multiple strikes of lightning encased him. In an instant the fan took in all of the energy as it crackled around the encased ice as it continued to crackle around the fan.

"Geez that was anti-climatic."

Another quick strike caught him off guard as she had performed a short distance teleportation before leaving a marker.

"Crud."

His instinct flared as he tilted his head out of the way only for the bandages to come loose.

Miko stared at the horrific injury, the black haired otherworlder lacked eyes, all that was left was empty eye sockets. Pitch black.

"Anyways my intention is to live peacefully here for a while before I continue on."

Miko stared at him before nodding "I apologise for the misunderstanding and my rashness."

"It's not often that someone from a parallel world arrives here."

Wilbur nodded as he wrapped another bandage around his empty eye sockets. "Would you mind if I trouble you in staying here for a while until I can find a suitable place to live?"

Miko shook her head "How can I leave someone with an injury like that here?" Wilbur sighed in relief "Thank you, how about I help you with guarding or protection considering you're slightly weak? It's the least I can do considering I'm staying here for free?"

Miko was confused "Weak?" Wilbur thought for a bit as the world provided him with the term "Your electro attacks are weak to be honest." Miko stared at him "I'm confident I'm one of the best electro users in Teyvat."

Wilbur gave a gentle smile "Would you like to see the pinnacle of someone who has mastered magecraft? Of course I can't exactly consider myself Solomon but I'm the closest."

A nearby barren mountain was perfectly in view as he pointed at it. "Yae I want you to look at that mountain. Do you think you can destroy the top of the mountain?" She shook her head, it shouldn't be possible.

"No way."

Wilbur smiled gently once again, it reminded him of the times that he had taught students.

"I want you to watch as the mountain will cease to exist today."

"You know on the off hand I did know someone similar to you in my world. Tamamo-no-Mae a foxy shrine maiden, she was a fragment and avatar of Amaterasu, the Goddess of the Sun. She used witchcraft If I remember."

Wilbur raised his fan as the clouds in the sky slowly converged and condensed into one single fat cloud. Another swipe as the clouds themselves started trembling before Miko watched as electricity started forming and gathering into the centre of the cloud as the cloud itself started twisting from a single motion of Wilbur's fan. A twitch of the fan as it started glowing icy blue as the electricity started becoming devoid of colour leaving only a small purple hue mixed with the white.

His hand that was raised struck down as the cloud discharged the built up electricity in large cracks of lightning as the white crackles enveloped and dismantled the mountain. The bright light revealed that the mountain had become rubble. Miko stared at Wilbur who simply was looking in the direction of the mountain. "Hmm. I didn't completely erase it. I'm out of practise with electrical based attacks."

Miko stared at him in awe "Out of practice? You destroyed a mountain using a single electro attack!"

Her composure as the head shrine maiden had been forgotten. "Oh I supposed you want to learn?"

Miko poked him "You'll teach me that?" Wilbur shook his head "I'll teach you the science to do that. You'll have to figure that out yourself. Since different systems."

Miko bit her lip as she thought about it. From the skills of the teen, this place would be virtually impenetrable as long as he was here. Plus she was letting him stay and live here for free. Might as well get something out of it.

"Very well. I'll allow your help."

~~~~
"So delicious!"
Yae Miko was currently in food heaven after tasting Wilbur's food. Everything cooked by him was the closest to perfection. Never perfect but infinitely closer to perfection. Currently Miko was enjoying a bowl of Kitsune Udon. Something that she enjoyed greatly in which Wilbur always thought it was a one time thing.
"Never knew the thing about kitsunes liking tofu was real."
Yae shrugged as Wilbur sighed before finishing off his own bowl of udon. She grabbed him all of a sudden "You'll cook again right?" Wilbur nodded "Of course I'll cook!"
Yae looked like she won the lottery
"For myself."
Wilbur found two hands on his cheeks as they were stretched to its limits. "Are you trying to play with a maiden's heart?"
"No, I'm not playing with it. I'm toying with it."
She sighed before finishing the bowl with a depressed look. "But I don't mind making extra portions."
Her ears twitched as she bounced up in joy. "Hang on a minute that oni is here again."
"I've come to challenge you agai-"
"WOah"
Yae looked up from her bowl as she wiped her lips "There goes Itto again. How many different ways have you defeated him again?"
Ataraki Itto had just been launched into the sky by a mini tornado formed by Wilbur's fan.
"He'll come back eventually. I might install a few bounded fields around this place." Yae perked her head up as she had found that the voice came from behind her.
flop flop flop flop.
Her face became bright red as she realised Wilbur was playing with her ears. "Man they are really soft. Great stress relief." This was not how it was supposed to go. She was the one who played the pranks, not the one who got pranked.
She slapped the hand away as her ears were flopping around from the speed of his hands. "So soft. So comfortable. Need to do this more."
He eventually stopped as he sat back down. He had ascended.
"So soft and fluffy."
"Fluffy."
"Jeez cool your face will you?"
Wilbur faded away into icy flowers as they blew into the wind.
This would not do. How could she, Yae Miko, the Head Shrine Maiden, of the kitsune lineage and one of the strongest in Teyvat be on the receiving end?
"WILBUR!"
