Surprise

I yawned as I sat in my motorbike waiting for him. I applied a little toner under my eyes due to lack of sleep. "Didn't sleep much, Fire?" made me jump a little. I still couldn't move on from today's 'Demonic Activities' or so but I'd like to call it that way. "Geez, what happened?" he questioned. "You won't understand it Felix" I smiled sweetly. "Try me Quinn" he said with concern on his face which suddenly held so much familiarity to me. "Sure thing" I said very exhausted but still kept my smiling facade. "I will be your shoulder to cry on and a rock for you to a support. I'll never break your trust Quinn, so you can share your thoughts with me" he said as he took my hand from the handle bar and held it assuringly.

"I..I will say it Felix. I'm scared, that's it" my voice broke. "Of what? What's troubling you?" My tongue slipped. "Crap!" I thought and quickly recovered from it. "We're getting late Felix. Hop on and hold on to me tightly" I said, changing the topic. "Woah lady, who are you and where is my sweet Quinn?" My heart missed a beat. "My sweet Quinn?" My mind asked me. "Just a friend" I told her. Oh man! She is really annoying me. "Well I might have kidnapped her seconds ago and took her place" I said as I sped all the way to school by ignoring the yellow light. "Shame on me for getting up late" I muttered as I sped the last yellow light.

"Why couldn't you slow down? I already told you that I'm super scared of speed. You frightened me to me to death Quinn!" He grumbled constantly while I parked my Harley in the valet. "Why do you bother it so much? I didn't kill you anyway!" I said getting a bit edgy. "You don't understand! I lost my loved one during a car accident and I don't wanna lose anyone anymore!" He yelled as his grey eyes turned glossy. Before I could utter a word, he walked away from me hastily. I felt very guilty as he walked away. "It's for the best" my mind chanted. Yeah, I wouldn't bear the pain if he left me knowing I had powers but this, I could forget it and move on right? "Hey Quinn!" chirped Nina as she pulled her coat closer to her body. "It's getting cold outside" she said. Ah, I knew why... "Can we go in? Or, if you're waiting for someone, then it's okay" "Anyway, Felix is not gonna be around me for awhile" I thought. "What about Katie?" I asked her. "She's waiting for us in the hall, Quincy!" she replied way too fast nervously.. "Then let's go" I said and pulled her through the double doors. As soon as I entered the hall, the murmurs all stopped and they stared at me. "Weird.. Totally weird" I thought and turned to face Nina but she wasn't there. "Where the he-" I was cut off mid-sentence when the speakers started on and someone was testing it. "Merida, do I have your attention? Merida?" I was astounded and speechless and so the crowd took the liberty of answering the lady with a loud yes. She chuckled and continued, "So this one is for Quinn, guys could you cheer for me?" Then the whole crowd started cheering and pushed me to the auditorium. I was handed fresh roses by a few girls and Nina was standing in the centre of the room. "What is happening here?" I smiled nervously. "I was told to give this envelope to you" she smiled and continued, "Trust me on this" while she stuffed my hand with the letter. "Was it Felix?" I thought and started searching for him in the melee which had formed now. I found him running towards the room I was in and he stopped when his eyes met mine. I, on the other hand, squinted my eyes at him to know whether it was his doing. But he shrugged his shoulders and stood on the farther side of the room. Suddenly the lights in the room was off and the spotlight was focussed on the stage. When I saw the person who walked out of it, I couldn't believe my own eyes. Nora was standing on the centre with a microphone on her hand. Then she started singing,

"I'm so glad you made time to see me,

how's life tell me how's your family,

I haven't seen them in a while..

you've been good busier than ever,

a small talk 'bout exams and schedule,

your guard is up and I know why...

because the last time you saw me

is still burned in the back of your mind

I was on the brim of pouring my tears out as she took my favourite Taylor Swift song and apologized to me. "I'm so sorry Quinn, so sorry. I've learnt my mistake... Will you accept me as your bestie again?" she asked me as she held out one yellow orchid flower to me. I grabbed her hand and pulled her to a bone crushing hug and she ruffled my already ugly hair. "Okay class, now can we get going?" someone in the crowd called out. "Thank you so much for allowing us , Ma'am" Nora politely thanked her which I assume is the teacher. "Sure, Nora" she said as she walked away. "What was that for?" I curiously asked her. "Well, I'm a part of the drama club so I asked their help to put up all this" she beamed and I smiled back. "Thank you so much guys, without you, I wouldn't have got hold of this girl called Quinn" she said as I chuckled and held on to her dearly knowing that I had got my best friend back. I'm so happy that our friendship is back on track. "Now, I have lots to tell to my friends who are sadly in abroad "I thought as we parted to go to our classes.
