Chapter 8 - Seal the Deal

System mission: The user needs to sell 200 potatoes

Mission duration: Two weeks

While Jake happily celebrating his win against Donna the system gave him an unexpected mission. When Jake goes back to his house he will ask Daisy about it, now he needs to focus on and see how he is going to sell his potatoes.

Jake checked the menu while drinking the soup. The potato soup in the restaurant is 20 small copper. So, he needs to try and sell the potatoes with the most money he can get.

"So Ms Donna, how about we start our negotiation now. I think the soup that we are eating now present my points which I told you earlier. You can see around for yourself because you used my ingredients, the restaurant that was before ten minutes quite became this busy. So I want to know your view and what offer are you going to give me" Jake spoke with self-confident and showing that he was right from the beginning.

"Sigh…. You are right about everything you said. Your product is good, healthy and tasty, the shop became busy because of the soup that I made from your farm. So how many can you get me, I will pay for each one of your potatoes above the market value which is five small copper" Donna said without any waver she really want them she could make this heavenly soup in one hand, on the other hand, she can make the restaurant busy again.

" well I appreciate your offer but am going to turn it down, the products from my farm are triple the market in value. If you think is a fair deal then you can go to the market and find some product to your liking, but I am going to go to the restaurant next to you and sell it for them, I think they can grab an opportunity when they find one." Jake said that while standing up ready to leave.

" Mr Jake to be in a hurry we are still talking here plus I am going to buy your farm product. How about this I will sign a contract that says that The Bigs Eats restaurant will be only exclusive for your farm you can sell anything your farm produce and we will happily take it, but if there some stuff the restaurant doesn't use it you can sell it any where, that's your right." Donna said that because she doesn't want anyone else to get this heavenly product and after she cooked the soup her trust toward her cooking skill renewed again. She was remembering the past and how she couldn't handle any restaurant she worked in, so the problem was with the ingredient, not her cooking.

Well the ingredients are the base of the cooking recipes, Donna had some skills but the Farm Zone product are heavenly good they are not polluted from the air, the plants are watering from a so good water source (that what Daisy say).

Jake looked at Donna pondering about her proposal, its good one because he doesn't want to find another restaurant to give his product to, but at the same time, he is losing money. There is a win-win type of deal, but it's just don't feel right.

While thinking about the deal Donna gave him. A muscular man enters the restaurant. He was looking around fascinating about how the restaurant is full of people who are asking questions. His hair colour was gold and he has a scar under his eye. When you look at him you just feel scared. He wears a body Armor, it seems he is an important man.

Jon walked to where is Donna was as he approaches he slowed his pace because his wife was sitting with two farmer kids.

"Donna what a nice smell, how come I never smelt it before, you sure know how to keep a secrets from me" Jon laugh while apportioning Donna, he kissed her on the chick and look at the boys hoping to understand what is happening.

" Honey do it kiss me in public" Donna hit him while blushing.

" This is Mr Jake he is here to sell me some potatoes, I know its kind of laughable when you are hearing it but the smell is from the potato soup I made from his potatoes. Mr Jake this is my husband Jon and the owner of this restaurant" she said it proudly knowing that she can win the deal now.

"Mr Jon nice to meet you, I heard a lot of things about you from Ms Donna, this is my friend Mike". I pulled my hand out to give a handshake, that took him by surprise, Mike said hey from afar he feared Jon. I wasn't scared, because Jon is the type of person you see in Comicon cosplay customs, so my mind was relaxed, it's so fun to see an actual figure.

Jon sat with us on the table, while absorbing him I got an idea.

"Ms Donna I liked your offer but I have another offer, how about I become an investor in your restaurant. I will give you everything you want, and I will keep planting new stuff so you don't need to worry and I will one day make this restaurant have my ingredient only, so you can show your talent in cooking. But my share of the restaurant will be 49%. Mr Jon the Owener of this restaurant, Ms Donna is a skilled and talented cooker and I have the ingredient which will one day make this restaurant the best in the kingdom what are you saying " Jake said, it hit me if I am a shareholder in this restaurant I can get an easy money and finishing my mission will be easy plus Jon looks like an important person, so I don't want to lose a connection with him.

Donna looked surprised about my proposal and she gave a little blushing look because of the praising, she looked at Jon he was looking at Jake with curiosity.

" Donna can you give me some soup to taste," said Jon

" Yes Hon, It will be here right away," Said Donna, she was proud of the soup she made.

" Suzan go out and tell the customer to wait, tell them if in ten minutes they could not enter, it means that there is no soup," Jon said to Suzan telling her how to handle the customers.

" Now tell me what your purpose Jake no one come to a restaurant to sell potatoes, they come to eat it so what's your story," Said Jon giving me some hard looking looks to pressure me.

"Mr Jon, selling potatoes are not limited to be selling in the market boundary, I plant ingredient not to sell them to the pedestrian but to a restaurant, to make something delicious for the people to eat. You can't sell diamonds inside an iron shop, it needs to be with the jewellery and I see my farm ingredients are my jewellery that needed to be in a place that appreciates its greatness. I was looking at each restaurant and from the look of the waiters and how they speak, you can measure the service of that place. Then I entered your restaurant your daughter Suzan gave me the most polite entrance welcoming I had all day plus she made us feel comfortable. That why I choose this place and when Ms Donna cooked the soup it appears that I have chosen the right place." Jake said with full determination that his decision was right.

Donna came with a bowl of soup for Jon, he looked at it, smelled it and then ate it. His eyes change once he tastes the soup and after finishing the soup he looked at me and smiled.

" That is a good soup so delicious babe, thanks for your hard work," said Jon

" Jake I will be frank with you, your ingredients are good and with your personality, I think something good will happen here in Springfog town. You are a bright lad, so I will be a foundation stone for your progress." Jon stands up and shake my hand sealing the deal.
