1 Prologue (Edited by me)

Well, it's ended. The entire world as we know it has ended. It didn't come in the form of a rapture. Well not the traditional sense. People said that they were able to see these floating screens and some people who was familiar with this particular setting even went on their knees and thanked the gods. After what the news reported as mass hysteria, the earth quakes started. Major changes happened, new land and island were constantly being reported along with a lot of new ocean life and flora. Some were really old like thought to be extinct old. Scientists were having a heyday. But soon all would change.

A string of grisly murders was being reported daily in these remote areas of the world. News outlets sort of ignored that for awhile and focused more on the new discoveries that happened almost daily. One day, a kind of new humanoid popped up. They were short and green and, in the end, they were extremely hostile. More like stab first and ask questions later. There were many attempts at communication but all failed. They just didn't seem to speak any known language. The government eventually called these mini humanoids goblins. Obviously the DND players had a heavy hand in naming these guys. Which I don't blame them. These ugly fucks looked exactly like the goblins from the games.

I really wish that was the end but I couldn't be farther from it. More races started to show up. Some extremely friendly and others, well, not so friendly. Our world was changing and the previously dominant humans really started to get threatened by these new changes. The humans who reported seeing these blue screens started to hunt down these creatures. They also formed cults calling them guilds. It was extremely creepy and honestly had the main populace scared.

Mind you all, this happened in a span of a year. Earthquakes became normal and the government was all too quiet. Now you may be asking "where do you come in?" well you see…I was serving the Air Force at the time. Was on the 4th term of the contract. I signed up when it was calm and honestly thought this would be a smooth ride. I thought that I would be able to do 4 years and go to college. Buuut noooo, this shit had to happen. So, until further notice all active duty and previous able body veterans were called to action and were to remain in action till further notice. It also seems that the government decided to give those last-ditch efforts a try like forcing almost all able body citizens to go through training during this state of emergency. More and more people are reporting blue screens and apparently, they have RPG stats. Honestly, I'm so fucking jealous because I'm a huuuuge fan RPG's and this sounds very fucking similar to the novels I read.

As I was lamenting at how cool this whole blue screen ordeal sounded while strolling through the park in my civilian clothes. I heard some screams; I ran toward the noise as fast as my poor legs would take me, hoping that I wasn't too late. When I arrived, I saw elves huddled up in a corner in ragged clothes and Steel chokers.

"Are those slave collars?" I muttered under my breath. Before I could process this scene, my attention was redirected to the tiniest movement out at the corner of my eye. There was a group of thuggish men surrounding a little girl. An Elf girl. She was in the same getup as the rest except the group of elves in the corner had blonde hair. The elf child surrounded by the thugs had snow white hair.

"Fucking jackpot! Free exp!" said thug 1

"Dude you gotta share!" said thug 2

"She's kinda cute." Said the big fat thug with a lewd smile. You can see the sick fuck's dirty thoughts. Honestly kinda sent shivers down my spine.

"Hey!" I yelled to get their attention.

"What the? I thought you said this park was clear?" thug 1 said to thug 2

While the thugs were having a dialog all to themselves, I looked over at the elves that are grouped up in the corner of the forest. They seemed even more terrified then before. Oh I get it. They must think I'm another waste of a human out to take their life.

I smile at them to reassure them. This only makes a few of them piss themselves. {Fuck! I forgot how intimidating my smile is!} I really can't smile worth a shit.

"oy creepy smile dude!" the fat pedo thug waves to get my attention. I look over to see what he wants.

"Since we are super kind, we've decided to let you go with a warning. As long as you don't tell anyone then we good. Plus, we don't want to deal with the penalty for killing a human. Oh, you have no idea about the screen? Yeah well you get to keep your life." He then smiles back at me like a psycho and claps while saying "yay!" for whatever reason thug 1 and thug 2 were laughing and seemed to be having a good time.

{Fuck. Looking at these guys really makes me sick. And I left my gun at home…well I feel pretty confident I can take down these three thugs.}

"I don't think I'm gonna go anywhere." I smile back at the fat thug.

"suit yourself mister hero" Fat pig says and signals over to the 2 thugs

"fuck I really hate the penalty though!" Dumbass 1

"shut up ted! Lets just do it and get it over with quick so we can go back to leveling" Dumbass 2

I begin to ready myself but before I could even move a muscle they had already started to move. They were much much quicker than I gave them credit for. Almost to quick for me to cope with. Almost.

Dumbass 1 was already upon me and immediately swung for my head brandishing amateur skills. I'm no expert but I'm pretty sure you're not supposed to swing your arm like a bat. He's extremely quick though I gotta say. I dodged the attack by lowering my stance and weaving my head to the side.

I guess he didn't expect that and stumbled a bit. Big mistake. He stumbled into my knock out range.

I use all the strength in my waist and spring up when he's close enough and uppercut dumbass 1. The force was so much that it lifts him into the air and knocks him back a foot or two.

My fist is bleeding now. But there's no pain.

Dumbass 2 is kinda flabbergasted. Another mistake, I refocus my center and dash over to him. He readies himself the best he could but obviously not good enough. I step in switching up my stance and hit him with a heavy-handed straight hook to the left side of his jaw. Everything connects beautifully and I could even hear a crunch as I do this. God, it was such a satisfying crunch.

Both dumbasses seem to be down for the count and in a moment of self-smugness I let my guard down, at that moment I feel an almost ticklish sensation in my back then immediate hot pain rushes through my entire body.

I scream a bit, but then I get sucker punched in the back of the head. I lose focus for a second and drop to the floor of the forest.

"You must be one of those soldier boys over at that fort." as he finishes that sentence, he kicks me in the face as hard as he can.

"Fuck you're not dead yet?? That kick, I know for a fact, had enough force to break a man's neck" He does it again and again.

I can no longer see anything, everything is hazy.

After the fat pedo had his fill of kicking the literal shit out of me he spits on me and begins to walk away.

I hear his foot crunching the leaves and the elves screaming again. But I can't move. My vision is still hazy and going dark every couple of seconds.

But in that darkness suddenly a blue light explodes in front of me and then starts to form a screen

It said more but the screams from the elves started to intensify and I kept focusing on that. I needed to get up. I had to get up.

[YOU'VE AWAKENED YOUR GIFT]

Strength started to flow in my arms again and I was able to start picking myself up

The little elf girl at this point snaps out of her frozen state and runs over to the group of elves that are being brutally murdered before her and runs up to the man and starts to beat his back with her little fists.

He turns around and smacks her, lifting her off the ground with the force of the smack and she flies a few feet. She lands sorta close to me.

My head sorta clears up and I'm able to see again and I catch all that is happening.

If I was pissed before. Now I'm royally pissed.

Power like I've never known before kept coursing through my veins. I managed to stand up fully and charged him. Stumbling a little because I wasn't too used to the speed. I managed to full on tackle this psychopath from behind. You could hear a very vivid crack as I take him down.

While he's dazed, I managed to mount him. I unleashed all my frustration on his pig face. Every few punches I could feel a crunch. I wasn't completely sure if it was the obliteration of my knuckles or the bones in this dude's face. Either way, I didn't stop until the blood started flowing.

After looking him once over I checked to see if he was still breathing. Sadly, he was, I stumbled up and searched for the little elven girl. What greeted my eyes was horrifying. Dumbass 1 and dumbass 2 were lying there with their throats wide open. It was horrifying to see this kind of thing in real life. I heard leaves crunch behind me and as I turned around, I saw the little elf girl running towards me with something in her hand.

Before I could react, she was all ready Infront of me and I felt that familiar sensation that I had felt in my back. Hot pain shot all through my front. Instead of freaking out I looked at her face. It was full of tears and anger. I spit up some blood on her white hair.

I raised my hands and she flinched. I could tell that she thought she had no where to go and then I saw a look of pure determination on her face. I grasped her and hugged her very close to me. I smiled as tears streamed down my face. I couldn't blame her; I didn't want to. She seemed to have gone through so much and in that moment I just understood. It was close to the end for me.

All the while I could feel hot tears on my shirt where her head rested.

"I wish I could have saved you from whatever fate you've experienced up to now. Huh, I don't think you can understand me. Whatever, just know I don't blame you." I say that with the gentlest smile I can muster. I hate that collar around her neck. So, I decided to try something.

I reached out and grabbed the collar. I could feel a very dark and oppressive feeling coming from it the moment I touched it. But I didn't care. I could feel the end coming.

With every ounce of the strength I could muster I tried to break the collar. No use. But I refused to give up. I closed my eyes and focused. I focused as hard as I could on the mental image of the collar breaking with my two hands. I focused on crushing this oppressive tool. And then, I felt a rush of pure energy like before and I could feel the metal start to deform under my grip.

I ignored the message and continued to exert the last of my strength. The collar finally bends to my will and breaks.

I smile one last time at the white-haired little elf girl "Goodbye"

The little girl looks at the collar in my hand and tears burst forth from her cute dirty little face.

[THE LANGUAGE BARRIER BETWEEN RACES HAS BEEN LOWERED. YOU TWO ARE NOW ABLE TO CONVEY YOUR TRUEST FEELINGS AND WORDS TO ONE ANOTHER, BE QUICK LITTLE ONE HAHA]

The message comes to a complete surprise to me but I knew the words I wanted to say to this little girl.

"Live, I forgive you" I smile again ignoring all that pain

She's absolutely dumbfounded while staring at my smile and she pushes her head deeper into my stomach, definitely hurting me more, she keeps saying that she's so sorry.

I push her away quickly

Purple flames burst from the hand that's gripping that collar and quickly spreads and engulfs me entirely. I couldn't even scream from the absolutely excruciating pain before it engulfed me.

And that was the last day of my stay on earth.
