1 Prologue: Coiling Dragon

At the Yulan Continent in the Yulan Plane 5000 years ago after the creation of the New Calendar. The Pouant Empire which had dominated the whole continent by having a very massive territory was destroyed and from this moment onwards, it will cease to exist and will only be known as a legend that once dominated the entire continent.

Taking its place after it's destruction was the Holy Union and the Dark Alliance which have occupied the once vast territory of the Pouant Empire. It was shared by the two of them or what was known by the public.

These two organizations know that they are not that great compared to the hidden organization that is yet to be known by the world.

The only reason they knew about its existence is that every time they tried to take over the Mountain Range of Magical Beasts and the Mountain Range of the Setting Sun, they will always fail and received a threat not to try it again.

This has really caused them to be really alarmed that they didn't dare to take over these two mountain ranges because of the danger of the Magical Beasts and the unknown organization.

Although it is an unknown organization, they have happened to knew what it was named. The Tempest League of Phantoms.

After the destruction of the Pouant Empire, the Holy Union and the Dark Alliance began to spread their influence in the continent by building churches and cults everywhere except near the two mountain ranges.

A new empire has also emerged which has really surprised everyone as they had just appeared out of nothing. Although they have a great army, they did not attack the other empires and only built their empire at the Southern-West border of the Mountain Range of Magical Beasts.

The new empire was named Fanalis Empire, they became well-known immediately because of their unique characteristics of having red eyes and hair which really attracts the attention of everyone. They also became known for their extraordinary strength and was known to be an empire of warriors on par or greater than the O'Brien Empire.

Being a new empire, everyone thought that it will only be short-lived but they were all meant to be wrong because as the years go by, the Fanalis Empire became stronger and stronger.

Many notable families and other empires had started to form a connection with the Fanalis Empire through a political marriage. Sadly, their advances are rejected as the Fanalis Empire seems to have a connection with a mysterious organization that was immediately guessed by the Holy Union and the Dark Alliance.

This mysterious organization that supports the Fanalis Empire from the shadows is undoubtedly the Tempest League of Phantoms.

Year 9990 September 27

Rushing towards the road, a carriage pulled by strong Fergan Horses, an earth-element horse-type magical beast of the fifth rank can be seen.

The carriage was intricately designed with images of the wind blowing carved on its body. It was gold in color with some red and orange color on its carvings and edges of the carriage. The windows of the carriage are made of very thick glass that can even withstand an attack from a seventh-rank warrior.

Inside the carriage, three individuals can be seen. A middle-aged man, a boy, and a girl.

The middle-aged man has light blue eyes and spiky black hair. He also possesses thick black eyebrows and a thick white mustache and has slightly tan skin. He wears a red robe with the Fanalis emblem on its chest which is an image of a lion's head with its mouth open like it was roaring. There is a long sword placed on his lap while he looks outside through the window. His name was Glenn Medoval the general of the royal guard of the Fanalis Empire.

(AN: Correct me if I am wrong but the ranks of the army in coiling dragon. Is it Soldier>Captain>Major>General. Or should I use knights but do tell me their rankings please cause I have no idea.)

Sitting opposite to him was a girl who has red hair that is tied into pigtails, she tied her hair using two tubes and had a small red clip on the left side of her face. The girl had red eyes, she was about 4'3 tall with small glossed lips. She looked very fragile, having a very slender figure and thin legs. She wears a black short dress with white lining on the bottom and red ribbons on the bottom. Her name was Morgiana Fanalis, the first princess of the Fanalis Empire.

Beside her was the boy who had a rather slim body which is not muscular in any yet not fat also. He has dark gold eyes and white hair. He wears black pants with a black belt that had a large silver buckle, a black V-necked shirt that was worn underneath a black trench-coat with gray lining going down the sleeves, and black boots with silver plates to protect his shins. He had a silver plate worn on the left side of his coat, and a pair of black fingerless gloves. He wore a strap that went over his right shoulder and under it to wrap around his left side. A sword is sheathed on his back. His name was Lionel Fortis.

The three of them are heading towards the Ernst Institue which is the acknowledged number one magus academy in the whole continent. Even though the Fanalis Empire also have their own magus academy - Fanalis School of Magic, it was still slightly inferior to Ernst Institute.

And the reason why they are going there is because of Morgiana who wants to become a magus which is really not a surprise considering her high potential as a Dual-Elemental Magus of Fire and Wind.

Glenn "Princess Morgiana, we are almost at the Fenlai City."

Morgiana "Really? That's great. Sitting here all day is really boring."

Lionel "Says the one who keeps on talking."

Lionel said as he rolls his eyes, he was speechless at Morgiana's antics. She says that she is bored but she kept on talking and talking on their journey since they had started. He was at the point of shutting her mouth if it weren't for her cuteness stopping him and the fact that he is her personal bodyguard.

Morigiana "But it's true that it is really boring here so that is why I was talking to relieve my boredom. It's not like you don't like to listen to me."

Lionel did not answer her and Morgiana just stick her tongue out towards him and then turn her head as he gazes outside looking at the fast-moving trees that they passed by.

Lionel was thinking about what would be his life now in Fenlai City. His task was to protect the princess as he will also enter Ernst Institute. Since he had all elemental affinity while having control on which one will he chose to show at the test.

He just wished that troubles will not find their way towards them as he really hates it. Even though it would not put them in any danger, it is really annoying.
