The Past

It had been 3 years since I had visited my family. I had left on bad terms. My family didn't like Christan, they thought he wasn't good for me. He had been fighting wars in the army. They thought he might die and I get left with a child to raise by myself. Which I knew that wouldn't happen. But they were still concerned and ordered me to break up with him. Which I refused. So my family ordered me to move out. So I did as they asked. But that's in the past. I'm engaged to Christan now. My name is Asia Wilson, soon to be Mrs.Asia Lewis. I have to tell my mom that I am engaged now. I don't know how I will tell her or how she'll react but I have to. We live in Memphis Tennessee. We have to drive 822 miles which is about 11 hours 59 minutes. It's gonna be a long ride I gazed out the window, feeling the fresh cool breeze on my face and arms. I saw the beautiful painted sky. I thought to myself it truly is a beautiful day. I looked back to see my golden retriever Charlie laying down looking at me, with his mouth wide open with his tongue flapping in the breeze.I turned back to the window and thought about how much I missed my family. Especially my dad. He's been gone for 7 years and it still feels like yesterday that I had to say goodbye to him. His death still pains me. 5 weeks after his death my mom started talking to Charlie Richard. Then she got engaged to him after a month. I still can't understand how she can just move on so fast. But I guess I'll never know.
