We walked to Tumultus after that. I wrung my hands the entire way there, thinking about what Thane had said. Starting a revolution - did that mean destroying Incipio? Could I do that? Incipio was the only place I'd ever known as home, despite the laws that Nero Randall enforced brutally twenty-four hours a day and seven days a week. My younger sister and my parents lived there. Kalle, Elen, and Cas lived there, too.

The Academy for Fourth-Level Programming and Operation had once been my goal. And now . . . I wasn't sure if I would be able to leave it.

We descended the path at the edge of the cavern and crossed the boundaries of Tumultus. Almost immediately, a tall, dark-skinned man with jet-black hair and black clothes approached Thane, greeting him. "Hey, Flynn, nice of you to show up," he said.

"No problem," Thane fired back, grinning. "What have you been up to, Orpheus?"

"We're just busy planning our next attack. Without you," the man said. "Who's this?"
