59 Leveling and peak magic

These changes were unnoticeable for people not familiar with magic but erisa could tell the difference immediately. to her senses it was like watching someone grow a thousand feet tall but her eyes simply said that no such thing was happening. it was disorienting to say the least since it was a sort of cognitive dissonance between what she feels versus what she sees. alastair felt slightly bloated like he had to much to eat and need some time to digest. the new magic knowledge he acquired from the level up gave him some insight into a form of magic that interested him greatly.

This magic was the same kind that erisa's race were innately gifted in , transfiguration. the reason for his interest in this type of magic had to do with the legends of earth. specifically the ones were people changed iron into gold. alastair had a sneaking suspicion that high tier of transfiguration would give him the ability to do similar things. "did you just hit one of your growth spurts for magic?" erisa asked curiously. alastair nodded "just reached a breakthrough point for my magic too though i didn't get passed it so i feel bloated at the moment."

"That would make sense considering to my magic senses you feel massive." erisa said honestly. alastair was surprised to hear this but it made sense so he left it alone. the trio then met up with the rest of the party and spent the night in an inn peacefully. the next morning they met the same old man from yesterday and followed him to the entrance to the first forest were he wished them well and they left into the forest. as expected of the forest under Yggdrasil the first forest was chock full of various types of flora and fauna.

Alastair was thrilled with the area since he was constantly finding rare and valuable resources as they traveled further into the forest. even better was the extremely strong monsters that were literally everywhere they saw giving alastair a steady stream of exp throughout the trip. by the time they reached the center of the forest an entire week had passed and alastair had surprisingly managed to get another level right before arriving at the platform from the reinbow's vision. this level up to sixteen gave alastair access to some new perks as well as pushed his magic to eighty six.

The perk that excited alastair the most was the tag perk that added fifteen points into a skill of his choice. without hesitation alastair used one of his perk points for this and used it on his magic skill maxing it out. for his other point that had been saved from the previous level he got the action boy perk that increased his already crazy stamina even further. once he exited out of the system menu the changes in his magic began. his mana first grew a small amount before condensing into a liquid drop.

However that drop also began to grow rapidly causing alastairs body to begin to shine brightly as more and more power filled him. soon enough the mana liquid reached a critical mass much like it did before it became a liquid before condensing once again. this time all of the mana changed into a small white crystal sphere located just below alastairs naval. once this change was completed this crystal sent out a wave of pure mana so potent that the space around alastair visibly warped from its weight before alastair stopped glowing and got his power under control.

The rest of the party watched this transformation in awe before instinctively shivering when alastair opened his eyes. the sheer amount of power held in alastairs gaze caused instinctive fear in the entire party including erisa. those familiar with magic such as the twins , rab and erisa could feel that alastair no longer felt like a person but a mountain towering far above them. alastair didn't know but his eyes had changed color from brown to gold during his manas transformation , what he could tell however is that he had gained the ability to dissect unknown spells at a glance making him a nightmare for mages everywhere.

Alastair flexed his mana through his hand and closed his hand into a fist causing the space around it to crack and warp before he released that sliver of power with a content smile. "so this is the peak of human magic huh?" he asked rhetorically. the rest of the party soon got used to alastairs new presence and started asking him about what he now knows as well as how he feels. he answered their questions the best he could but remembered the transfiguration problem veronica had and with a wave of his hand changed her back to her original form.
