Chapter Thirty-Nine

The sun light peeked through the curtains and stretched across the room to reach my face.

I let out a groan and opened my eyes.

"You're awake." Aidan says. I blink a few times until I could see him clearly. "You were asleep by the time I got back to the room."

"I tried to stay up for you but…I was so tired." I said.

"I know." He smiled and moved my hair back. "It took a long time to resolve everything." He grumbled.

"It's ok, I understand."

"But you have needs." He said and his hands started to wonder my body. "And I have needs."

I chuckled. "I do but I have patience." I say and scoot closer to him.

He chuckles and pulls me the rest of the distance to him. "Do you know what you do to me when you tease me?"

"I have an idea."

He groans. "Then you have an idea of what you have coming to you." He said as his hands wondered down to my butt to grab it.

"I have some idea." I say, my face turning red.

"And still you tease me?" He said in a husky tone of voice.

"Well I…"

"You must be enjoying yourself then." He said. His bulge was pushing up against my groin, causing my body to heat up.

"I uh," I said and cleared my throat.

He grinned from ear to ear. "You are."

"W-well yeah." I was flustered and tried to push him away but he held me tight.

"Don't push me away. You don't have to be embarrassed, I am your husband after all." He jested.

"Ye-yeah b-but these walls are s-so thin. Y-your men will hear everything."

"And that bothers you?"

"Ye-yes. It doesn't b-bother you?"

"For other men to hear me satisfying my Queen? Not at all."

"B-but..."

"If it bothers you love, you can always try to hold it in." His hands wondered to the bottom of my dress to pull up the bottom and feel underneath.

"I...I could..." I said, still flustered.

"But it's not good to keep all that pent up." He said then started placing kisses all over my body. "You should let it out." He says in a husky tone of voice.

"I...I can't." I say and he chuckles.

"Even if they heard or saw anything, they would never say anything to you." He said with a cavalier tone. "Now why don't we take this nightgown off?"

There was a knock at the door. Aidan just hung his head on my chest and grumbled.

"What is it now?" He let out a sigh and picked his head back up. "What?" He shouted.

"Your Majesty. W-we need to leave shortly if we want to make it to the beach house before night fall." The guard said from outside the door.

I chuckled.

"Do you find delight in my torment?" He asked, in an annoyed tone of voice.

"Delight? No. But I do find it a little funny." I say and kiss him. "Just hold on for another day and we'll have a whole week together at the beach. Just you, me, the bed, and the sand."

He kissed me again, pushing his tongue down my throat as his hands felt all of me. He pulled away, out of breath, and rested his forehead on mine.

"God what am I going to do when I have to be away from you?" He said as he buried his head in my chest. I put my arm around him and rubbed his back.

"It goes with the territory love. Won't it make our reunion all the sweeter?"

"It does...but it can never make up for the absence."

"It's only a few days after the beach, to check on the border right?"

"That's not what I'm talking about." He says and lifts his head back up.

"I know. Six years is a long time." I say and smiled at him.

"Felt like a lifetime."

"Well...now we have a lifetime together."

He groaned. "You're too sweet."

"Sh-should we get ready?"

"In a minute. I want to hold you like this a little while longer."

After a few moments we crawl out of bed, quickly wash up, dress, and go out to the carriage. It was another long, long day in the carriage but we made it to the beach in time to see the sun set. After the carriage door opened I made a dash for the beach.

"Ari!" I heard Aidan shout after me. The guards caught up soon and blocked my path.

"Your Majesty." Duncan said.

"We need to clear the area before you can go to the beach." Garret said.

"Oh..." I say then chuckle. "I-I forgot."

"Please wait here Your Majesty. We'll check that the area is secure."

I smiled and waited until Aidan caught up to me.

"Are you crazy?" He asked. "You can't just run off."

"I know. I'm sorry. I was just so excited." I look back to the beach longingly as the guards go to check the area.

"We should wait in the carriage." Aidan said as he took my hand and gave it a squeeze.

"Not a chance. I will just look at the beach from here if I have to."

He scoffed. "I figured." He brought my hand to his face and placed a kissed on the back of my hand.

I try to be patient but I start to squirm. I can hear Aidan chuckle next to me but I don't pay any attention.

"Hey." He said and pulled me into an embrace. "Why don't you get this excited when you come to see me?"

"Are you jealous? Of the beach?" I joke.

"N-no. I'm upset you don't do an excited dance when I walk in the bedroom."

"Oh...poor King Shaffer." I jest.

"And now you're teasing me. Oh the things I'm going to do to you tonight."

"I want to go to the beach first."

"I don't think I can wait." He said, his bulge pushing against me.

"Poor King. Has to hold it in for two whole days." I say and kiss him.

"Ari, are you trying to test my patience?"

"Not at all Your Majesty." I joked.

"I think you might have hit your head in that carriage ride my Queen. The more you antagonize me the rougher I will be later...or is that what you're angling for?"

"It has been a while since we've...been rowdy."

"Damn it." He said under his breath. He picked me up into his arms and carried me towards the beach house.

"Ai-Aidan." I squeal and grab onto him. "I want to see the sunset from the beach."

"Oh that's where we're going." He says then looks back at the servants. "Bring the large blanket to the beach." He shouted back.

"Bl-blanket?" I asked.

"You did suggest we should get down to business there?" He jested.

"B-but all the sand, won't it get in the way?"

"It's a very big, thick blanket love." He says and kisses me. "And making love to the sunset is a memory we deserve."

I bit my lip and looked towards the beach. It was time for a new chapter in our lives.
