He had a lot of opportunities and with the power he held, the old Carter could have stopped Jared from committing the crimes. Though difficult, it was not impossible. But he just sat on the fence while the people continued to suffer in Jared's hands.
Valerie pressed hard on the gas pedal and swerved swiftly when she reached the edge. The tires screeched due to the sudden impact. But her control over the steering was brilliant. So, the minor disturbance did not faze her.
