1 Gray

It was the usual temperature outside. 33 degrees Celsius with noisy vehicles but it's a good thing that it's cold inside the Starbucks as the smell of coffee reek inside. He might already smell like an espresso once he came out of the cafe. He tapped over the table waiting for the date that Hannah Grace or known as Johanna sets with him. That woman was quite annoying not to mention that she always leaves Quinn, her daughter with him.

"Gray Marcus Rossie?"

A voice of a woman called as he turned around with a smile. She's wearing all Gucci and has big sunglasses. She removed it and smiled at him. Gray stood and extended his hand.

"Hi, you must Mellisa Rosales?"

She smiled beautifully with her perfect white teeth. A girl can take her time checking up in the mirror or the salon for a date. He gestured on the seat and pulled a chair for her. She thanked him as she placed her purse over her lap.

"What would you like to drink? We can plan for wherever you go." He said charmingly. Yup, that'll do. He thought to himself. A lot of girls get charmed by him and some just don't. He's nearly thirty-seven and he needs to plan further to get a wife right away or else, Karmina will set up a wedding for him for an unknown woman that he doesn't like.

The girl specifically had her drink customized as he listened to her attentively. There are at least ten instructions on it but his memory is sharp as he went to the barista and told him how the lady would want the drink. Then, he came back shortly and smiled at her. Well, he noticed a few points about her. He already guessed that she's a B model and her family is rich. He somehow doesn't understand why Johanna set him up with rich spoiled brats.

"Have you been on blind dates before?" She asked.

"Yes, my niece recommends a lot." He said. "How about you?"

"Well, this is my fifth week. It's not that I am desperate or what but, my mom wanted me to go on dates and find a suitable man." She opened up. She continued until her drink was called. He stood to pick it up and gave it to her. They chatted further as he listened attentively. Somehow, he felt like a doctor rather than a date.

Maybe it's because of his demeanor and approachable aura that a lot of ladies would want to speak out about their problems to him. When is he going to find a woman that wouldn't look at him like a psychiatrist? He's tired of hearing their problems. Based on their speech, the lady had depression and anxiety. It can be mixed all together but it needs more tests before he gets a diagnosis.

He sipped on his coffee as he glanced outside to find an alone lady with her walking stick. She was blind as she stopped in front of the cafe. No one opened a door for her but she opened it by herself. She continued walking as the barista greeted her.

"So, what is it that you like in men?" Gray asked as he listened attentively. He saw the lady glancing at his crotch many times. She needs attention and yes, he fucked like ten ladies on blind dates. They were the ones asking for it as he only gave it. It was fun with them but the girls would only thank him and some of them never meet him again. Did he start to think that they only need him to please them or was he that bad in bed?

"I know the best place to go." She sipped on her drink. "This is great. You should try it." She suggested. He bent over as he sipped on the same straw while he made eye contact with her. She gaped at him as he knew well that the lady wanted to get it on.

"Hmm, it is great." He checked the label. "So this is your favorite drink."

"It is." She leaned closer to him.

"Where do you suggest we go next?" He asked.

"Well, a park will be great."

He sat down as he glanced at the blind lady that was assisted by one of the staff for a seat. He looked back at her as she continued searching on her phone.

"Did you bring your car with you?" She asked.

"I did."

She smiled excitedly.

"I've been wanting to watch this movie." She showed him the movie and he nodded his head. Every girl wanted to see that movie. It's a romance and he had seen it ten times this year. Because of his dates who like the same movies, he started getting bored. He doesn't know if Johanna was making fun of him. Maybe he should move somewhere.

He checked his phone and the boys mentioned taking an extra class. He ignored it for a while as they chatted more, waiting for the time until she finished her drink. She excused herself to the bathroom as he looked at the pretty girl with white flawless skin like she hasn't been going out a lot. Her long brown hair was down to her waist. She's sipping on her matcha drink carefully. He cleared his throat as he waited for his date.

He then takes his time to reply to the kids. The adopted ones that the Rossie Empire take in.

Gray: Whatever guys! Don't damn break your ankles.

Yves: Thanks, dad! You are the best dad ever.

Jaime: When will mom come home?

They are joking again. He sighed.

Alexa: How's your date going?

There goes Violet and Victor's daughter who was as straightforward as Johanna.

Gray: Mind your own business, kid.

Alexa: Just checking you out.

He shook his head as he glanced at the blind lady who was leaving the cafe. The staff quickly opened the door for her. But he froze when he saw a glimpse of what was going to happen. He quickly stood and rushed outside. The people were screaming but the lady didn't know what was happening. He quickly grabbed her and pulled her away when a car hit the post on the sidewalk of the pedestrian.

He pulled her away back in front of Starbucks.

"Are you alright?" He asked.

The lady's hand was gripped on her chest as she was clueless about what happened. Her sunglasses were ruined by the people from the panic.

"Hey," he checked her face and then reached her hand where her walking stick was wrapped around her wrist. He takes her away from the people that might bump into her. She's having a panic attack. He checked her hand as it was cold. "Everything is fine. You are perfectly fine." He told her as he looked at the injured driver.

He quickly pulled out his phone and called the ambulance as the roving patrol police rushed to the car.

"What's going on?" Melissa asked as Gray reached her hand and made her hold the blind woman.

"Take care of her." He told Melissa as he approached the police and showed his license as a general doctor. He's not just a psychiatrist but he studies more.

"Hello, sir what happened?" He asked the driver who had the bleeding head. "We need something to take him out of the car." He told the police.

"My~~" The driver mumbled. "The br-eak was~~n't working. Both breaks." He mumbled.

He nodded his head.

"How do you feel?" Gray continuously responded to the injured driver as they helped him out.

The rescue team comes in quickly and takes the man out.

"Gray, my god! Are you alright?" Melissa asked as she looked at his sleeves.

"Yes, I'm fine." He nodded his head as he searched for the blind lady. "Where's the lady that is with you?"

"She's~~" She looked around as the lady was pinned on the wall gripping her bag and walking stick.

"She had a disability and I think she's having a panic attack," Gray told Melissa.

"But your hands~~"

He took out a handkerchief and wiped her hands. Melissa quickly took a wet tissue from her bag and sanitizer to help him. Then, Gray approached the lady.

"Ma'am, where do you live? Who is your emergency contact?" Gray reached the lady's cold hands and gently squeezed them.

"I~~" She mumbled. She rummaged through her purse but she froze.

Gray squatted down to look at her eyes. She looked terrified but although she's blind, her eyes shows all she felt.

"Okay, where do you live? We should take you there." He looked at Melissa who nodded her head.

She mumbled the hotel that she's currently living in with the number of the room.

Melissa, his blind date, was very much surprised about how kind he was but somehow, she didn't like how kind and generous he was. She already thinks that it was easy for him to get swayed by another woman.

Once Gray dropped off the blind lady at the hotel that she was staying in, he changed clothes inside the car and smiled at her.

"So, where to?"

Melissa smiled.

"It's a tough day. You are a hero there."

"Uh," Gray already felt uncomfortable. "You don't want to continue our date?"

Melissa smiled tightly and shook her head.

"Okay. Where should I drop you off?" He asked politely.
