Shopping

"You are not going to just stay here feeling sorry for your sorry a**. I am taking you shopping." Mom says.

I groaned, "Mom, I don't want to go shopping or anywhere. I just want to stay here, cry, and feel bad for myself."

"Too bad, you are going. Go and get dressed right now. It pains me to see you in such a sorry state." She said.

"But-"

"No buts, go now. I am waiting."

I dragged myself up and walked into my room to change.

When I was done, Mom dragged me out of the house and drove me to a nearby café.

The waiter came and asked for our order.

"I'll just take a coffee," I said.

Mom glared at me and said, "You have to eat."

"I don't want to."

She rolled her eyes and said to the waiter, "She will have this. "

She never listens.

I merely took bites of my food. I am not hungry.

When Mom finished her food, I had only taken a few bites.

She sighed, "If you aren't going to eat, I am not going to make you. But this is a waste of food so you will eat later. When you feel like it alright?"

I nodded as she called the waiter to wrap my food to go.

Once we got out of the restaurant Mom went to the bathroom, and I caught a glimpse of someone. And that someone made my heart turn. It was Andrew and Emma together. Emma was holding bags of designer. The scene made my heart clench.

I stood still unable to move even though I desperately wanted to hide. I prayed inwardly that they wouldn't see me.

"Sophia?" A voice called.

I sighed just my luck. I turned around clenching my fist.

"Fancy seeing you here," Emma says.

"You too," I replied, my voice dripping with sarcasm.

"Why would you be? You surely must know that Andrew owns the place." She says putting her hand on Andrew's chest.

I grit my teeth.

"I didn't expect you to be so well now. I mean you just broke up, how are you doing?" She asked

I smiled bitterly at her, "I am doing great thanks for asking."

"That's good to hear," she says, "But you really don't expect me to believe that would you? Your whole life just got ruined."

I looked at her annoyed, "My life is not ruined. It's not like I need a lying b**ch like Andrew in my life."

"Ooh someone's bitter today," Emma pried.

I shrugged, "I bet he will cheat on his new girlfriend too, I wonder who she is."

"What did you say?" She screamed angrily.

Now, a crowd of people gathered around us to see what all the commotion is about.

"You heard me," I said calmly.

"You ruined my life, Sofia. Andrew was supposed to me mine long ago before you came." Emma shouted unable to control her anger any longer.

She launched at me but before she could reach me, someone held her back.

At first, I thought that it was Andrew but it wasn't. It was Caleb.

He held back Emma with ease, his face as indifferent as ever.

"What do you think you are doing?" Andrew shouted, "Don't touch my girl."

Clearly, he didn't know who he was talking to.

Caleb merely just laughed fakely and said, "You think I would want to touch her?"

Andrew looked at him lost for words, "...who do you think you are? Talking back to me."

Caleb let go of Emma and went to my side wrapping his arms around me.

"Caleb Black, nice to meet you." He said, his voice full of irony.

Andrew gasped when he saw him. He made Andrew look lame and so ugly compared to him.

Andrew didn't say anything. Everyone knew better than to say anything in front of Caleb Black. He was too powerful.

"I would appreciate it if you would keep your hands off my women. Next time, the consequences wouldn't be little. Oh, by the way, I am buying this mall soon so I won't expect you two to come back here." Caleb says warningly, putting his arm around me.

Andrew and Emma backed away scared.

When they left. I turned to Caleb, "What are you doing here?"

"You never told me your ex was Andrew Caplin." He said coldly.

"I didn't think it was important," I replied, "And you never told me that you were Caleb Black."

"What's wrong with being Caleb Black?" He asked grabbing my chin harshly and forcing me to look into his dark eyes.

I hesitated. Everyone knows how dangerous Caleb Black is.

The corner of his lips tugged into a barely visible smile, "And I would have thought you knew."

"Well not everyone is supposed to know who you are," I said.

"Hmmm, no. Everyone knows who I am." He replied arrogantly.

Wow, his ego is a lot.

I rolled my eyes, "Well thanks for that back there."

"Prove it." He said indifferently.

"I'm sorry what?"

"You said that you were thankful, prove it," he said as if it was obvious.

"How?"

"You could just repay the favor. You practically made me sleep with you, it would only be fair if I got to do the same to you?" he smirked.

"You, the person who told me that we were strangers stood up for me and is now suggesting that I sleep with you? Are you out of your mind?"

"No. And besides I didn't do it for you. I would never miss an opportunity to make Andrew Caplin embarrassed," he said.

I smiled at him bitterly, why did I think that he might have done it because he might have had just the smallest feelings for me?

"Meet me at the same bar tomorrow at 9. Do not be late and don't even consider standing me up. Do you understand?" He said firmly.

"Yes," I said in a small voice.

He let go of my chin and briskly walked away leaving me behind stunned.

Mom approached me, "Who was that and did I just see Andrew?"

I sighed, "It doesn't matter Mom, let's just go home."
