Chapter 44 : Callous Confrontations
Raven’s POV
I have all but exhausted all of my options at this point. I hid in Blair’s apartment, ducking away and locking myself in the bathroom to avoid the blinding, lethal light of day until I could do something about my current situation.
The entire day, I thought of different routes I could take around the city in an effort to find Blair. I thought about how I could run along the alleys and streets. I thought about that little spot on the edge of the street where I last managed to catch her scent.
I sadly could not find anything when I was there. I did not see where she had dropped her purse. I did not find her phone. I could only smell the fear lingering in her scent. It was the only thing that was left behind.
I would have continued my investigation, but the sunlight was beginning to crest over the nearby trees and buildings. It was a miracle by the Almighty that I did not get a single, crippling burn from the sun as I ducked into Blair’s apartment.
