Chapter 42 : Who took her?
Raven’s POV
Nothing happened. I mean, I did not expect anything to happen, but it is still a reassuring fact when nothing happens. The evening border patrol was successful and the reports of a potential invasion, thankfully, were just false reports.
Those happen from time to time. False reports come in from our other enforcers when they notice a little more activity than normal. While a little activity is normal, the recent threat of a raid from the Gambinos definitely has everyone on edge.
Needless to say, I am just thankful the night is over. Finishing my regular duties brings me unbelievable relief and, once I am cleared, I rush away into the night and head toward the one place I truly want to be—Blair’s home.
She talked about having something special planned for tonight, which has me completely seized with curiosity. Knowing her, it could be absolutely anything, which has me excited beyond words.
