Chapter 2: The white knight.

White knight POV

"Take off the mask" he yelled.

I had been around fine men but this king was different. His short black hair was neatly combed to the back. He was almost as tall as giant, not that I knew any and I was baffled…and fascinated.

He could be described as beautiful in the same breath one would call him, rough edged.

He looked like a sculpture with his chiseled jawline and distinctive straight nose. His eye color was confusing, it had a shade of both blue and green and...brown.

Good God! They were hazel.

He was staring at me like I was a misfit who barged in on him and technically I was.. He was obviously irritated by the way his nose flared.

His high cheekbones looked man made and too perfect. This man looked like an angel and when he spoke, his baritone voice overpowered the almost empty hallway..

"I am Zuri Zero Williamson, King of Castaway and I am ordering you to take off the mask!"

I turned away and I started looking at the paintings on the wall. I lingered on one particular one.

A little question tugged at the back of my head and without turning, I asked it.

"You must think I am stupid. Of course, dude…I am not going to take off my mask. It's there to conceal my identity, duh" I rolled my eyes.

"Who are you?" He asked me.

"Oh goodness gracious! I thought my identity was obvious enough. The mask…the baggy clothes…the nickname…I am a thief! I am here to steal!"

He lowered the sword he was holding and made a face.

"I am not daft, I know you are a thief. I was asking for your real name, little boy!" He looked annoyed.

Wait? Did he just call me a little boy?

"I am not a little boy!" I yelled at him.

"Well, if the clothes fit…you are very small" he pointed out. Then his face lit up "or maybe you are not a boy at all. Maybe you are a little girl!"

"I am not little! I have stolen at least arts and artifacts worth 20 million dollars in two weeks, you stupid oaf!" I yelled at him.

I thought he would be angry but he simply lowered his sword.

"So, you are a girl"

"No, I am not"

"Yes, you are" he insisted.

"No, I am not. Keep that sword up, I am dangerous!" I told him.

He yawned..

Oh my God! He yawned like I was boring him or something. He dropped the sword on the wall and he just kept walking.

"Where are you going?" I asked him.

"I am going for a swim"

"But I am trying to rob you. Aren't you going to stop me?" I asked him.

He simply kept walking.

"Nope…I don't fight girls! I am not going to fight a twelve year old with an imagination!" Zuri said but he didn't slow down.

Okay, now he was pissing me off. One would think he would have a little bit of respect for a seasoned thief like me! Stupid evil King!

"I am not twelve!"

He stopped walking and turned around to look at me.

"Then how old are you?" He asked me.

I took a step back.

"I am not telling you my age, I am not stupid" I told him.

"Hmm, okay" he turned around and started to walk away.

"Yeah! Keep walking…I am just going to rob you blind"

"Go ahead, little girl…and those are fake by the way. The real ones are tucked away safely"

I watched him leave and then I exhaled. What an annoying tyrant?! I hate him even more now since I arrived here.

I was still pissed off at Zuri when I heard the sounds of footsteps coming towards me.

Shit!

I knew it was the Royal guards and police, the king must have alerted them.

I smiled.

He was afraid of me afterall.

I took off towards the part of the castle I knew I would disappear.

I made it there and I hid in a room. One of the guards must have seen me enter the room because he followed me inside.

I jumped into the bed and covered myself.

The door opened as I managed to get rid of the helmet.

I yawned to give the appearance of sleep.

"What is it? Why are you in my room?" I asked the guard.

He looked around the room before he asked.

"Who are you?"

"I am agent Prudence Shoemaker, I am princess Emily's bodyguard"

I saw the look of regret that appeared on his face.

"Oh I apologize, agent. You must be the diplomat from Zolcovia"

"Yeah..now, get out!" I ordered and he fled.

Okay…now the cat was out of the bag.

I am Prudence Shoemaker…two weeks ago, I was ordered to leave my home country to this godforsaken dump to protect the future Queen of my country kingdom, the princess Emily of Castaway, Zuri's half sister who he trade to the prince of my kingdom for a few oil pipes.

I am here to stay but I won't make it easy.

My mission is simple…protect Emily and bring the tyrant king to his knee.

He won't see me coming.
