1 Chapter one; THE GIRL

"Mom,I'm bored." Says a girl with curly black hair that she dyed at red at the bottom. She has hazelnut eyes, small round lips , 5 ft 9 , 51kgs ,very ambitious and competitive.

"What do you want me to do? You're 17 and you're telling me that you are bored go watch TV or hang out with your friends whatever you do just don't disturb my peace." Replied Ms. Morris. "If you say so mum, are you sure you don't want me to help with chores or something?" The girl asks. "Adria, if I wanted your help I would've told you but as of now I don't, I'm going to cook and you know I love doing it alone and by the way when are you bringing a boyfriend home? Most girls your age have one so first go and get one." Ms. Morris tells Adria her daughter. " Mom you know I'm not interested in relationships right now and if I was to get one won't they see me as competition instead, you know I'm adventurous and most boys want girls who settle down to their commands which I can't bare of course." she said ," Also I need to learn your recipes." " Just go Adria and do you right now I need some alone time, okay?"

"Okay mom." Adria goes because today might be a hard day for her mom since it 16th March the day her ex fiance aka Adria's dad ran out on her after making unfulfilled promises eg marrying her. They were already fiance and fiancee by 19 and that's one of the reasons she doesn't want to get involved with any guy as of now so she has to first enjoy her teenage hood.

"Hey Adria wanna play?" Noquel a male friend of hers calls out to her from the other side of the street with some of his friends. It seemed they were going to play basketball which she loves.

"Why not, let's go but fair warning you guys are gonna be beaten." "We shall see Adria. I came with my gang and these guys are naturals so your chances are limited."Noquel says. "We shall see about that let me first call my team and fate will decide the winner." Adria says dialing on her phone.

Noquel knew of Adria's team because they played for the town's junior team and had won two bronze medals,3 silver and 4 gold so they were that good but he didn't care he just wanted to spend some time with Adria because he likes her. He once told her how he feels but Adria laughed it off thinking it was a joke . So his feelings were a joke to her but what makes him stay strong is that she isn't dating anyone and he'd rather show than just say because to Adria actions speak louder than words.

Hey Iren are you guys free . We gonna play do you want to come ?" "I'm ever free when it comes to playing the basket." Iren replies. "Okay help tell Jesy and Felix to come and I'll tell Sanjana and Pinky if that's okay with you."

"Yeah I'll tell them see you there." Iren says and hangs up. "Hey Noquel what are you waiting for we're gonna show you who's boss ." Then they all walk heading to the court.

At the basketball court they found Adria's team there and Pinky said,"I heard there is some meat to roast and Noquel I hope it's not you."

"I am the one fortunately because there's a saying that says,'You can't be the best unless you've beaten the best.' so we shall risk it." Noquel replies. "We would like to see you try but anyways who are the guys you haven't introduced them yet ." Adria tells him. "This is Max," a tall blonde at his left,"Phiona,"a girl with short jet black hair and light brown eyes,"Aliena,"another girl with ash blonde hair and blue eyes,"last not least Raph the bad boy of the team."A red head with steel grey eyes a wierd combination and an i don't care attitude. 'Pinky is gonna love this one.' Adria says in her head. "We are the 'PYTHONS'." "So now let's play." Max says and they all started.

The game went Welland as expected Adria's team won '53 - 50' so by three. Adria and her teammates were amused. So Felix says," Why don't you guys join us for the semi finals we need more players since the other two are sick and the finals too you guys would be just enough heew alot of time saved." " You really saved us by alot."Sanjana adds.

So the pythons talk amongst themselves and come up with an obvious yes as a decision. "So see you in two days for practice the game is in four weeks so we have to be prepared then, ok?" Adria addresses and replying at the same time, Felix and Aliena say,"You're right."

After that, they all went home and met up two days later. Four weeks went by pretty fast and they had practiced very hard and we'll. Pinky tried so hard to get Raph's attention but to no avail. Felix and Aliena dated for about a week and ended it because they saw that it wasn't working out and no hard feelings left between them. Jesy wasn't in the mood to talk and as always glued to her screen unless they are practicing.

The semi finals were between them the cobras and kobs. The game flowed well the practice and cooperation was paramount enough to beat the kobs. They took their positions in the game seriously and won the game by 15 points. They were very happy that they had advanced to the finals which were due in two weeks so they to practice even harder because the other group is very good at what it does so they got to make the best out of the two weeks inorder to be the champions at national level.

"Hello guys,great job if we beat the other team we shall be recognised nationally you know what I mean so more practice right,see you tomorrow." Their coach aka Ms. Rohanda Morris aka Adria's mom tells the cobras.

"Okay coach see you then ." "Yeah see you." the team says and they go leaving Adria and her mom together. "So mom how are you?" "I'm great my daughter not after how proud you kids have made me feel today." "We'll do anything or at least I'll do anything to keep my dear mum happy." "And I'll do anything to make you the most successful girl in both education and sports my dear." "Thanks mum." Then they hugged for like 30 seconds and proceeded to go home.
