Reaching an Accord?

"I agree with the guild master."

"Huh? And why is that, Elder Aagon?" Baston scoffed.

Sat at the corner of the command table, Elder Aagon leaned forward. Aagon rubbed the trimmed stubble on his chin, remade his grey ponytail, and glared back at Baston without reservation.

"I agree because the more I hear you talk, Baston, the more I believe you want this war to break out," Aagon remarked. "And I'll remind you that the chateau disciples are scattered along the walls with everyone else, in case you forgot that this impacts the chateau just as harshly as the rest of the city."

"Ridiculous. Don't waste our time with baseless claims," Elder Onark refuted. "We're simply keeping a level head and preparing for an imminent battle. So we might as well strike at the most opportune time."

"Then put it to a vote and get it over with since all seven of us are here," Hathon sighed. "We should get going, so let's move on already."
