Chapter 25: Sealing the Togetherness

Duke hurriedly got down from the bed to grab the thermometer. Duke was also burning with passion so it didn't even cross his mind that her certain excessive body heat could be due to high fever. Duke switched on the heater in the room and grabbed blanket to cover her half naked body. Juliet had a faint sense left but still she mumbled, "w-what are you doing? I told y-you to hold…."

Before finishing her words, she lost her consciousness totally. Duke was utterly disappointed at his own devilish behavior. Only because he couldn't control his lust for her, she was now shivering with a fever. Her clothes got dried on her skin during their time together on bed so, Duke just made her wear a new top and tucked her under the big and warm blanket. Duke could've changed her dress and it would not be tagged as taking advantage of her because she already gave him her consent. But Duke wanted his Juliet to be conscious about his activity so, he restrained himself from doing that.

Then he took the digital laser thermometer and hold that on her head, with a beep sound the reading indicated 38.8℃. She indeed was suffering from a fever. Duke sighed as he stroked her hairs for a few times. Then he once again put on that abandoned shirt from the floor and went downstairs. He poured mild cold water on a bowl from the kitchen but could not find any clothes. So, he went to his own room and grabbed one of his handkerchiefs to her room. He sat on the bed beside Juliet and put that wet strip on her forehead. She was deeply in sleep except groaning once or twice and Duke nursed her from midnight till dawn without taking any rest. It was quarter past four, when he checked Juliet again. And fortunately, the fever was gone. She was sleeping like a baby while grabbing his one arm. Duke slowly tried to remove his hand and kissed Juliet's forehead. She was unwilling to let go of his hand so Duke whispered in her ear, "Juliet, please let go…. Please..."

Duke said those words for four more times before he used a tactics as a solution. He put another pillow slowly replacing his own hand's place. Then he kissed her lips before leaving the room.

Duke went downstairs in the kitchen to prepare some porridge for her as they both skipped dinner last night. He made the oat porridge with vegetables added to that. It took some time for him to get back at her room. But the scenario in the room made Duke shocked.

Juliet was sitting on the bed while covering herself in the blanket from head to toe and a faint weeping sound was filling the whole room. Duke put the porridge on the table and went to her. After getting closer he heard her saying in a low voice, " I knew i-it…. H-he was not r-real…..sob… it was all in my dreams…..sob sob….. D-duke would never lo-love me…..sob….. He again vanished as soon as I opened my eyes….sob"

Duke chuckled as he witnessed this cute side of her. So, he slowly lifted the blanket from her head. Juliet's eyes sparkled in joy... she uttered, "Duke!!!" and jumped on him. She was touching Duke's face to fill if he was really there or if it was her another hallucination. But he was indeed there holding her very closely.

"Y-you….. wh-ere were you?" Juliet asked while her face buried in Duke's chest.

"I went to the kitchen to make some food for you. Your fever has just gone down, you should eat something to feel energy again." Duke answered her as he put the blanket over the koala Juliet who was sitting on his laps.

"n-nooo….. I said yes-terday.... You and m-me….. in the room....." the rest of her words mumbled together which only made some noises.

"Hmmmm…. Yesterday... did you forget what happened? Don't you remember? You were burning with fever in the car so I took you to your room and see there is a bowl and cold strip also…. I nursed you last night." Duke teased her as she was thinking all of that was nothing but imagination.

"No-nothing m-more happened?" Juliet asked while sulking a little bit.

"what more? Nothing happened." Duke looked at her face who looked like she was about to cry. Duke did not want to see her crying so he stopped his prank and said again, "oh! Are you talking about that time when you...!"

Juliet gasped and free her from his hug to look at his face, "M-me what?"

Duke continued, "nothing much….. you just unbuttoned my shirt, then I took off your top and you told me to hold you more tigh….."

She put her hand on his mouth to make him stop talking about this 18+ scenes. Then she facepalmed herself as her ears turned to red. Duke laughed slightly at her cuteness. Slowly removing her palm, he pecked her lips once again and said, "I love you Juliet, will you go out with me?"

Juliet did not say anything but embrace him tightly. Duke also did the same and patted her head. They both understood their hearts are beating in the same pace right now so words were just unnecessary.

Duke knew her answer already through the warmth they were sharing so he was relieved. After some time they both broke the hug as they looked at each other's eyes. It is said that *Eyes Are The Mirror Of Our Hearts*. They both knew what they wanted. Juliet wrapped her arms and legs around Duke as he gave in for the first morning kiss to seal their very First Day of Togetherness.

"um-hmmmm….. Care to explain what you both are doing?"
