Noble's oath (Prologue)

*SINGGGGGGGGGGGGG*

A gargantuan slash can be heard from far away, shaking the ground and changing the whole landscape. This is nothing new to August, who was suddenly attacked by an anonymous man in a cape with a greatsword while he held a boy in his left hand and a steel rod in his right. 1

"Ughh. I've had enough of your games, Heroth." August breathed heavily while floating, escaping, and blocking the attacks. 2

"I don't heed words from traitors." Herod keeps swinging his greatsword with indescribable speed. 3

August was shaking with pain as he kept the boy in his hands while blocking the impact of non-stopping forces with a steel rod. 4

Singgggggg Tingggggg Tanggggg Zepppp Dushhhh

"Hngh" August spent, and from the boy's view, one could say that the man that was holding him could burst out blood and tears at the same time. 5

The boy cried, his body vibrating from fear and sorrow, making August let his guard down for a while. 6

Heroth's greatsword suddenly struck twice as fast and dropped August's steel rod, and the impact hit his stomach, making him cough blood while barely catching a breath. 7

He gasped painfully, "Hah.. It's okay.. Hah, don't cry. I'll keep you safe." He whispered comforting words to the boy as he coughed up blood, took an opening, and teleported himself on the back of Heroth while keeping the fake in front of him as he chanted something with the blood he coughed that stained his right wrist. 8

The blood moved in a way that looked like it was boiling and disappeared. "Crimson Chanter: Fatality upon thee who overstep the tranquilly." 9

In mid-air, in front of both Heroth and a fake August, a single blob of black blood formed and created a roaming blood of sharp branches as it pierced Heroth's whole body, making him bleed vigorously. 10

August takes this chance to flee far away while hiding inside a bush in the forest. 11

August is almost unable to breathe; catching air for him now is like taking his heart out of his neck. 12

"You'll be safe; just keep it flowing through your body." August kept it short to not waste his breath while he used his magic to light up the boy's body with a strange light, hinting that it'd teleport the boy someplace. 13

The boy's hesitant "Pa..pa..no.."

August rubbed his son's bloodstained hand and handed him a piece of folded paper. 15

"Keep it safe, my son. I'm sure you'll like the content when you're older, Kikiki." August smiled as he made a joke. 16

"My time in this world seems too short, but yours is still too far." August's hand was trembling as he rubbed the boy's face. 17

"I'll protect our home and you as my pride and joy. You need to live long and be happy. Hihi. I love you." August's voice became a bit raspy and delayed since he could barely catch his breath, but for the boy, it was warm and comforting, just like his father's. 18

"pa..pa.." The boy's tears are one with the magic, as he hears every single word but is too weak to reply. 19

The boy's body is afloat in midair, and the hand that intertwined with his father a while ago has turned into magic, ready to be teleported. A weak smile can be seen on August's face. "Until we meet again." 20

"And all I see at that time is your cheerful face for the last time as you were stabbed by them." 21

"I can still see where the sword pierced your chest." 22

"And I'll never forget how you say you love me and the way you show it." 23

The boy put away the withered flower and put a white, blueish lily, carefully wrapped, in front of the tomb. There lies the name. 24
