Sergeant Fraser

"Hello Daddy."

Hassan Talib looked up to see his daughter Dania enter the dining room. He smiled affectionately at her. She sat down and started to butter the slices of bread.

"Where's Farzan?" asked Hassan.

"Sleeping," answered Dania.

"He always sleeps late," said Nasreen Talib, Dania's mother shaking her head.

"Holidays, Mom."

"Still-" started Nasreen, before she stopped at the look on her husband's face.

"What's the matter, Daddy?" asked Dania.

Hassan Talib looked at his wife and daughter, and said slowly, "Sergeant Fraser was killed yesterday evening."

"That's bad."

"The police are certain that it's the work of the Falcons."

There was a hushed silence in the room.
