Fake Professor, Misunderstood As Strong

On one fateful day, Jareth Blaze died an extremely horrible death. But fate has some other plans for him; he got transmigrated into the body of a weak third-rate villain in a role-playing game. He thought it would be difficult to survive as a villain with this weak and arrogant body, but for some reason everyone misunderstood him. They thought of him as a strong person and feared him. 'What are you looking at me with fear for!? aren't you the protagonist of this world!?' (No harem here!) [WSA entry 2024] My Discord server link: https://discord.com/invite/m87MTRraFD

Jareth's troubles..

Ivan's Higher Arcane University, Professor Dorms, Room no: 13.

In the training hall.

'I ended up attracting more attention than I was expecting…' (Jareth)

Jareth sat on the resting bench and stared at the news being played on his smartphone's screen.

The news anchor showed the video of him killing the wyvern in a single attack and explained things in great detail.

"The secret recordings of the security camera that was positioned in the corner of the classroom when the wyvern attacked, have been leaked!! our reliable sources have found out about everything that had happened in the university!!" (Anchor)

"As you can see in this recording, the professor of the academy whose name is Jareth Blaze, defeated a grade-2 monster, an adult wyvern in just one attack!!" (Anchor)

With great enthusiasm in his voice, the anchor explained how amazing of a feat this was.

"An adult wyvern like this can destroy a city in just a few of its breath attacks! But Professor Jareth didn't let the wyvern harm a single student in the classroom!!" (Anchor)

"He stood as a shield to protect his students and the future genius mages with his own hands!" (Anchor)

"The amazing fact is that he didn't even seem tired at all from using such a strong spell, he truly is a remarkable and strong mage!" (Anchor)

Suddenly the Anchor pulled out the photo of Jareth on the screen and showed his grade as allotted by the mage guild.

[Grade-6]

"As you can see, Professor Jareth is considered a grade-6 mage by the mage guild, even though his magical capabilities are on par with a peak grade-2 mage, as proved by his remarkable feat of slaying a wyvern in one attack!" (Anchor)

"The grade allotted by the mage guild was last updated 4 years ago, this proves that the mage guild has clearly neglected its duties, they should come forward and publicly issue a proper grade to Professor Jareth…" (Anchor)

"This negligence can cause great distrust in the grading system of the mage guild by the major public…" (Anchor)

The anchor found Jareth's graduation records and other theoretical achievements and showed them on the giant screen.

"Professor Jareth has always been a theoretical genius and has proposed many diverse theories throughout his career as a mage…"

"as you can see here he even scored highest in the final graduation exams during his student days!" (Anchor)

"He has been well known as a great magic theory professor with an excellent mind…

"but today he proved that he was not just good at theory, he had remarkable fighting capabilities too!" (Anchor)

"He had been rarely seen using an attack spell before, but today he used a basic level spell and defeated an extremely strong monster with no effort!"

"This proves he is worthy to be teaching at the prestigious Ivan University!" (Anchor)

Then the Anchor changed the topic of the news.

"All the praise aside, the real matter of concern right now is where this wyvern even came from…" (Anchor)

The anchor raised the question and then showed the official statements that were released by the university to explain the situation from their perspective.

"According to the statements of the academy, the wyvern was summoned by a demon cult members to terrorize the students and they intended to kill as many talented young mages as possible…" (Anchor)

"Those supposed demon cult members have successfully escaped the grasp of the security staff and there's no evidence left either…" (Anchor)

"This has raised the concern of many people, but the university has reassured everyone, saying that their capable professors are always ready to protect the students and there is no need to worry about the safety…" (Anchor)

"This statement has made the worried parents relax because everyone saw the capabilities of the professors teaching at the university, with their own eyes…" (Anchor)

"Some parents even stated that, as long as the strong professors like Jareth are protecting the children, they do not need to fear about the safety of their children…" (Anchor)

At that point, Jareth stopped watching the video.

He put his smartphone away and contemplated in his mind.

'I didn't expect that this would turn into such a big deal… now the whole world knows about what I have done…' (Jareth)

Jareth only wanted to survive the situation for now with that enhancement card, he didn't expect it to be strong enough to literally decimate the wyvern in just one go.

That was totally out of his plan.

Moreover, now that the whole world misunderstands him as strong, he can't even show his weakness in front of anyone.

The moment they found out that he was actually much weaker compared to what they thought of him, at that moment he would have to suffer the wrath of the whole world.

Without the strength to safeguard his bloated reputation, he is now in a very complicated situation.

(Originally a mere third-rate villain, now Jareth is being considered as the late-stage villain, even though he has no actual strength…)

Thinking this far, he could only think of just one way to get himself out of this situation.

'I need to become strong…' (Jareth)

Determination flashed in his eyes.

He knew that his fake bluffs would not save him for too long, and he needed to become strong.

'The problem is that it's not that easy…' (Jareth)

In the game, the character used to get stronger by using EXP to increase the level of the character, but right now he isn't getting any EXP at all.

His system seems to be different from the game system, it has no function of gaining EXP and there are these weird credit points in its place that he got when he changed the original plot by killing that wyvern.

'Things are getting more complicated as time goes by….' (Jareth)

Jareth shook his head and decided to stop thinking about this for now.

He immediately opened the shop window.

'Only this can save me from my current dilemma right now…' (Jareth)

[CP: 10000] (This is the amount of CP he has right now…)

[Shop]

[1. Bronze Lottery (1000 CP)]

[2. Silver Lottery (5000 CP)]

[3. Gold Lottery (25000 CP)]

Seeing the options in the shop, Jareth was disappointed.

'Unlike the game shop, I seem to be not able to buy anything right now… there are just these lottery options…' (Jareth)

Originally the shop of the game was filled with options to buy, skills talents experience cards, and various other things, but in Jareth's system shop, there's only these three lottery options are showing up right now, which weren't even supposed to be present in the game in the first place.

'Let's just go with it for now, this is the only I have left for now… I still need some way to survive…' (Jareth)

Since Jareth didn't have the CP to buy a Golden lottery he decided to use the silver lottery twice. His thinking was simple, the silver lottery had a better chance to give something useful compared to the bronze one.

[Are you sure you want to draw two silver lottery?]

[Yes or No]

'Yes' (Jareth)

[Ding! Congratulations you got an 'Attack Enhancement Card (Advanced)'!]

[Ding! Congratulations you got the 'Memory Card (Advanced)'!]

Seeing that he was able to get another 'Attack Enhancement Card', Jareth felt relieved in his mind.

'Even though it's not my own strength, it can still give me some sense of security in this cruel world… if didn't get this card, I would have always felt on the edge whenever I went out…' (Jareth)

'But I better not use it for small inconveniences… I need to save it for emergency uses only…' (Jareth)

…
