42 The Faint Voice
After Su Li disappeared from that place, she's not immediately awakened, instead, she was pulled into another place. The place was dark, it's as if there's no color here except black, Su Li can't even see her own hands even when she's putting it right in front of her eyes. She doesn't know which way she's facing nor what direction should she go. The only thing keeping her calm is the faint voice that she heard right now.
Walk... forward... 3... steps...
Although the voice was faint, it brought a sense of familiarity to her. She decided to trust the voice and followed its direction.
She walked 3 steps forward and another direction came.
9... steps... left.
She turned left and walked 9 steps.
5... steps... right.
She turned right and walk 5... steps.
...
After a series of directions, the voice finally gave one last command.
Open... the door...
"Door?", Su Li stretched her hands and feel the space in front of her but there's nothing, "What door? there's no door".
... The voice was silent for a while.
Not Enough...
Your heart... not enough...
"What do you mean?", Su Li asked, she can't figure out what the voice wants with her, her heart, what does it mean by not enough?.
Not enough... come back... when it's enough...
"Wait, tell me what do you mean?", Su Li tried asking again but her consciousness trembles, and light flashes by in front of her eyes, when she realize it, she already awakens from her sleep.
She looks around and found out that Su Yao was waiting for her on the side. When Su Yao saw her, she smiled happily, "Big Sister you woke up!".
Su Li looked at her with a weird gaze, "Did you not sleep?". Hearing that, Su Yao asked, "Do you want me to sleep?". "Can you?", Su Li counter ask which Su Yao answer, "Of course, if big sister wants it, I can do anything".
"Well, no need to go that far", Su Li stretched her body, she felt very refreshed after waking up, though as a cultivator she didn't really need to sleep, it just felt great. Not only that, she could felt her spirit being amplified after that and when she check the status, sure enough, she broke through the intermediate Dream phase. Su Li turned to Su Yao and thanked her, "My spirit is really increasing, thank you very much, Su Yao".
"Hehe, I didn't do much, it's all because of Big Sister talent!", Su Yao became embarrassed and quickly shook her head.
"Hn...", Su Li stretched her hands upward as she felt her body became refreshed. She had a lot of questions in her mind, but they can't be answered right now. For example, Who is Suo You really are? Who's voice is the one calling her? what door does she need to open? and what is not enough from her?. Taking a deep breath, she buried the thought deep inside, this is not the time to think about it.
"Big Sister, in a few more hours, the exam will start, but I recommend going to someplace first", Su Yao said as a faint map appeared in front of Su Li with a few marks on some places. This is the first time Su Li saw the map so she inquired, "When did the system had a map?".
"Oh... that, I put it in the interface as a bonus when I saw the map yesterday", Su Yao said nonchalantly.
"I see", Su Li nodded in understanding.
After preparing a few miscellaneous things, Su Li said to Su Yao, "Let's leave now then". "Okay!".

When Su Li went downstairs she saw the same old man from yesterday. She bowed a little and greeted him, "Good morning, sir". Su Li has been very polite from small, and the inn is very helpful for her thus she unconsciously feeling very grateful to the old man.
Seeing her greet him so politely he nodded, "You can only stay for one night, this is, unfortunately, is the rule, but since you are our first customer after a while, we have prepared a good breakfast for you". With that, the old man clapped, and a middle-aged woman got out of the door behind him, bringing plates of food on both hands.
She put the plates on one of the tables in the inn, "Come here little guy, this is my own creation so make sure to savor everything okay?".
"Err...", Su Li stayed silent for a second while asking Su Yao, "What should I do?".
Su Yao already looked at the food with saliva flowing through her mouth, "Heh? Huh? ha... big sister let's eat first, we are not in a rush". Su Li looked at her weirdly, "You can eat?".
"Not really, but I can savor the taste if you eat the food too!", Su Yao is woken up and coughed.
"Well, let's eat then", Su Li nodded and sat on the chair, it's not polite to refuse someone hospitality, and from the looks of it, the food looks delicious as well.
Su Li first thanked the middle-aged woman and proceed to feast on the delicacy. As expected, the taste was amazing. After a while, only an empty plate was left on the table.
Su Li wipe her mouth gently till no grease was left on her lips. The middle-aged woman asked with a smile, "How is the food?".
"It tastes amazing, thank you very much", Su Li thanked the woman with a smile.
"Glad you like it, why not stay here for a while to digest the food properly while we chat?", The middle-aged woman took the empty plate and put it away.
"Okay", Su Li nodded.

After a while of chatting with the middle-aged woman, both of them seem to become a little closer. Su Li even knows that her name is Xiong Yanlin.
"Are you going to enroll at the Great Saint Academy?", asked Xiong Yanlin with a smile.
"Yes, I am preparing for the exam later", Su Li nodded.
"Indeed, the examination was a little strict so, big sister wish you luck", Xiong Yanlin nodded.
"Thank you big sister", Su Li smiled brilliantly.
"Big sister, the exam will start in a few hours, it would be better to leave now", Su Yao reminded her.

"You didn't want to take her?", Xiong Yanlin inquired.
"I would want to but her fate said different, what I'm curious about is why she would disguise herself. The disguise itself was really amazing, If not for you telling me, I wouldn't know about it".
"Heh, it's a woman instinct, but if grandpa is asking why did she disguise herself, her looks in disguise are already heaven-defying, what do you think she looks like in her real form? as far I'm concerned, if I'm right, even those heaven chosen from various sects will flock her like a baby bird to its mother", Xiong Yanlin stated the fact.
"Oh well, if the situation came out worse, I would take her anyway", The old man nodded as the wisdom of life shine in his eyes.
