1 Chapter 1: Birth

The tunnel of light overwhelmed my sight but everything became clear as I opened my eyes. I was born once more and saw faces that I didn't recognize, they wore long white robes and held golden staffs with rings on at the top end.

"@#%@@#%@"

I heard them speak but couldn't understand a single word they uttered, I felt confused and muddled. Fatigue, I felt so tired, my eyelids heavy, and soon I fell asleep without knowing anything or forming another thought.

Then everything felt like a blur, it seems that time had passed rather quickly but I couldn't remember anything in the past 5 years. Miraculously, I learned how to speak and understand what the others say around me.

No, it's not that miraculous, a baby learns from its environment and I felt all my memories in the past 5 years as muddled and uneventful. I don't know why it happens but all I know is that I can't do anything about it and don't remember anything about it.

Maybe in the past years, I have subconsciously learned the language of the people around me. Speaking of the people around me, they are quite different from the modern people I know.

They wore long white robes, held golden staffs that has golden rings at the top edge, and their body radiated a holy aura that calms down those who neared them.

I also have heard different pieces of information that I could pick up and the information was shocking, to say the least.

"May the Goddess protect you..."

"The Alia Church shall help vanquish the evil demons that wrecked your village!"

"The city has been quite restless lately, are the demons readying their attack? Or is something wrong with the royal family?"

"All of us are the children of Alia, the Goddess of Beauty and Justice! We shall not be tempted or led astray by the devils of Hell! We shall slay them and save the innocents in the name of our Goddess!"

"You two are the future leaders of our church who will bring salvation to those in need. Grow strong, Lloyd, Vanze."

"Outstanding, simply outstanding! Both of them already learned Cure and Heal, they are gifted by the gods!"

Sings of praises came his way, the city was restless, demons caused mayhem across the villages and the church hunts them down in the name of their Goddess.

'Everything is foreign to me, kings, demons, gods, etc. I seemed to have traveled to another world, sigh, life, oh life, your smile is as beautiful as the stars but why do you want to see me suffer?' I felt targeted by the concept of life, she is elusive, unpredictable, her mood depends on what she sees and what she feels is right.

Those who anger will suffer, those who please her will also suffer. She is fickle and moody and now she is eyeing me as a toy to play with.

'That's what I like to think anyway. I am just blaming a concept that humans created to understand the unknown.'

Even though I was confused as to why I was reincarnated, I didn't feel like doing anything in particular except for this one interesting thing that appears solely to me.

[Name: Mythl Vlad

Age: 6

Spells Learned: Cure (basic), Heal (basic)

Innate Talent: Two Souls One Body (growth), Steel Body (growth, introduction)]

[Name: Llyod Vlad

Age: 6

Spells Learned: Cure (master), Heal (master)

Innate Talent: Two Souls One Body (growth), Holy Body (growth, basic)]

'Lloyd has grown quite faster than me, mainly because I was too lazy to practice when it was my turn to control the body. I should start exercising and grow my Steel Body.'

Even though I see the world as gray, this little thing should help me distract myself from the passing time and wait for my peaceful death.

Step, step, step

Hearing the footsteps, I turned around and saw a boy wearing soft linen clothes who had just woken up.

'Vanze? He should have woken up to go to the toilet.' I then heard him ask a question.

"Lloyd? Why are you up at this hour?" Vanze asked in a puzzled tone.

"Going to the bathroom, of course, how about you?" Mythl acted as Llyod would, with a bright smile on his face, gentle, and kind.

"The same as you, would you like to go together?" Vanze was oblivious that he wasn't talking to the real Llyod and offered to go with him.

"Sure, let's go."

'Vanze is as hardworking as Lloyd but he is a bit different compared to him. Lloyd is smart, clever, resourceful, and a sweet talker while Vanze is more knowledgeable, intelligent, and a little dull when it comes to a serious situation.'

Gazing at him in my peripheral, he is simple and innocent. We started talking along the way, took a leak, then went back to our bedroom.

My room was simple and organized, a wooden table on the side paired with a chair, a lamp, a bookshelf, a large comfy bed, and a large window to stare at the night sky or the city itself.

"Hmmm, I should start with the basic workout I know in my previous life. Push-ups, sit-ups, and squats. Stretching first though." I did some stretching like touching my toes, leg stretches, arm stretches, and waist stretches.

After that, I started doing some push-ups.

1, 2, 3...

Plop

"Yep, better than my previous life's record which was 1. Okay, next one..."

1, 2, 3, 4, 4...

"Hah, hah, next..."

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7...

Plop

"Hah, hah, hah, my muscles ache, hah, Heal!" A green glow covered my body as I used the spell Heal. A wave of comfort flooded my body as the aching pain went away, allowing me to continue the basic training I'm doing.

Seconds passed, then minutes, and then hours...

The dawn of the day has arrived as morning rays hit the cities and entered my room.

I was laying down on the floor, soaked in sweat and aching with pain but I had a smile of accomplishment on my face, something that I never felt before.

[Steel Body- 20% (growth, introduction)]

A percentage appeared beside my Steel Body, showing my progression to the next level for my talent. It is nice to view your progress rather than feel it, sometimes you will feel that you hadn't made any progress at all even though you did a little but there isn't anything showing you how much you progressed.

"Well, it's my turn to sleep..." My consciousness slept as another took over.

Yawn...

"Huh? I guess he started working on his own. I hope he will progress without bottlenecks." A tone that carried concern and encouragement escaped out of Mythl's mouth which is something that would never appear in his mind or say.

"Hmmm...today should be swordsmanship practice. I better clean up the room and shower." Getting up, Llyod started to clean the room in haste then took a shower before rushing towards the eating area.

Along the way, the people from the church greeted him with smiles on their faces.

"Good morning, Llyod, how are you?" asked a nun.

"I'm alright," Lloyd replied sweetly.

"Are you going to eat breakfast, Lloyd?" asked another nun with care on her tone.

"Yes, sister Telia," Lloyd answered with an honest smile.

"Here, I made this for you, eat well, and be healthy." Sister Telia gave Lloyd a small pouch.

"Thank you, Sister Telia." Receiving the small pouch, Lloyd thank her with a grateful smile and went towards the training ground instead.

Reaching out inside the pouch, he grabbed a loaf of bread and started eating as he walked. Feeling parched, he grabbed a bottle of milk inside the pouch and drank it.

Feeling full and refresh, he ran towards the training ground which was located behind the church.

Arriving there, he saw a burly man holding a wooden sword with one hand and holding a loaf of bread on the other.

"Good morning, Sir William." Lloyd greeted respectfully.

William nodded towards him and spoke, "Since you are early, I will start the lesson solely for you to learn if you continue being early."

A gleeful smile was plastered all over his face as he heard William's words.

Smiling at his excitement, he devoured the bread and started to demonstrate without saying a word.

Holding the hilt of the sword, getting into a drawing stance, William's muscles bulged as he drew the sword in a lightning-fast manner.

SWOOSH!

A wave of wind formed and headed towards a tree.

Slice!

A 2cm cut could be seen on the middle of the trunk. William turned towards Lloyd and said.

"This is Wind Draw, the force, and speed you draw your sword determine the effectiveness of the wave wind. The drawing of the sword itself is deadly and quick but the danger of this technique is when you are close to your enemy, you will instantly cut through their body, slicing them half. I'll teach you how it is done, and train you till you know how to execute it." The long-winded explanation caused Lloyd's eyes to widen in excitement, he nodded his head like a chicken and paid attention carefully.

William then started the training for Lloyd and two hours quickly passed. Drenched in sweat, he sat on the grassy ground as he took deep breathes.

His hands had blisters, blood dripping, but he still had a satisfied smile on his face.

"Heal." Casting a healing spell on his body, a wave of comfort gushed forward and healed his fatigue and damaged muscles and skin.

He was as good as new except for being covered in sweat.

"Rest for 30 minutes and we will start our normal training," William spoke while leaning beside a tree, he started at the backdoor of the church and saw children the same age as Lloyd excited and ran towards the training field.

"You are late by 1 hour! Extra training for the whole day!" Shouting in a cold voice, he eyed the children who bowed their heads in shame, Vanze included.

"Swinging and heavy slash practice for 2 hours followed by 30-minute run! Start!"

The children followed William's orders and picked up wooden swords inside the church which they forgot they bring and earned themselves another extra training.

Lloyd watched them with interest for a minute before starting to practice along with them.

...

Nighttime, Lloyd dragged his healed body but fatigued mind to his bedroom after taking a shower and plopped into his bed.

Not even a minute later, he fell asleep immediately.

His consciousness faded and another replaced.

[Name: Lloyd Vlad

Age: 6

Techniques: Wind Draw (introduction), Basic Swordsmanship (introduction)

Spells Learned: Cure (master), Heal (master)]

"Hmmm, he learned techniques today. I'll learn Basic Swordsmanship but the other one seems hard so I won't learn it. Okay, training time again."

Rinse and repeat, one trained in the night, one trained in the day. It happened every single day without fail and just like that, another 6 years passed.
