Chapter 8

Anne was livid, never in her life has she been as insulted as she had just been. She was doted on, pampered and spoilt rotten being the first and only daughter of the most successful business tycoon Ronald Theodore Roosevelt.

"Chelsea..." Anne attempted to turn the tables but Chelsea unfortunately turned on her heels and strided into her classroom leaving a dazed Anne staring motionless at the path Chelsea just thread on.

"Chelsea Kiara Vanderson, mark my words. I'll make you suffer endlessly for all you've done to me today!" Anne swore inwardly but concocted more false tears.

___

Diamond class, grade 7. In Winston Junior High, the brightest students get into Gold class while students with disabilities enter class ranking. Only geniuses get to enter class Diamond and that so happened to be Chelsea's class.

"That Chelsea really went too far!" The class perfect girl, Wei Wang, said to her seat mate who was previously reading.

Wei Wang Lang a Chinese transfer student who got the position of class perfect girl because Chelsea was never in school.

"I.. I guess you're right..." Her seat mate, Suzy, the History teacher's daughter said in a meek tone.

Suzanna Swift, despite being a teacher's daughter also happened to be one of Annette's victims. But of course she wouldn't dare say that.

"Lalalala lala lalalalalalala." Chelsea hummed softly as she set up her table which as usual had been kicked down and terribly vandalised.

"Erm, hi Chelsea." A meek unfamiliar voice rang out startling Chelsea. She turned around to see a black haired girl who looked like the opposite of her.

Dark skinned, tall figure and brown eyes but very pretty face. With just one looking into her eyes, you could see how kind hearted she actually was.

"Hi, Chaya Takur. Are you new around here?" Chelsea asked sweetly as she scooted over for the girl to sit down.

She sat down and smiled saying, "Yes, I'm a transfer student from India. My mum moved here for work." Chaya said in a low tone as she started arranging her things under the desk.

"How did you know my name?" Chelsea asked curiously as the girl had called her by her name on their first meeting.

"The same way as you." She said tapping on her name tag on the pocket side of her uniform.

"Alright class, be seated!" The school's best Physics teacher unexpectedly walked in which was an unusual sight for the seventh graders.

"Morning Mrs Black." The entire class including Chelsea chorused making the teacher nod in approval.

Mrs Jasmine Black, the cruelest teacher in Winston High. Very infamous for her favorism to the children of affluent families and unexplained impartiality to those who give her nothing in return.

"I'll your substitute English teacher for today. As you all know, I'm a Physics teacher. So make this easier for me as I'm doing this for poor sick Miss Jane Francis." Jasmine spoke in a demeaning tone.

When everyone had settled down and the subject had been written on the white marker board by the class perfect girl, Mrs Black decided to continue.

"Today we'll be doing an oral exercise. Each student will have a chance to participate in it and we'll also be taking help from a lower ranking class to help us with this." Mrs Black concluded.

And what happened next didn't really come as a shock to Chelsea but was darn too bold.

Annette walked into the classroom with puffy red eyes and dry lips showing she had faked enough tears for a day.

"This is Mrs Roosevelt, she'll be leading out exercise for today." The 'teacher' said with a serious expression on her face.

As expected, the bitch would definitely want to take revenge on Chelsea because the girl put her at a loss.

"Okay class, the first vocal exercise for today will be decided by a slot pick procedure." The woman said bringing out a bowl filled with variety of coloured paper.

"Obviously it all has the same thing written inside." Chaya scoffed looking at Anne with a disgusted glare.

"But what can we do, we don't want to be accused of her murder if she does immediately after leaving this class do we." Chelsea said sarcastically.

It was rumoured that, the Diamond class students were strange and dangerous people because of the high brain capacity.

They believed that because of their unearthly genius, the had high criminal tendencies.

Mrs Black stuck her hand into the bowl rummaging through the paper in it. She finally brought out a purple coloured paper and gave it to Anne to read out what was written on it.

"It says singing. Our vocal exercise for today is singing." Anne cheered expecting the class of ten to be excited but got the creeking sounds of a benches as applause.

"Okay, let's start with a roll call." Mrs Black said and began pairing people from A-C with Anne.

When it came to Chaya's turn, she politely declined because she was still getting used to the foreign language.

And so it came Chelsea's turn. Anne, who was looking dull a moment ago suddenly beamed with enthusiasm at the opportunity to get to humiliate Chelsea.

"So Miss Annette Theodora Roosevelt, I'm Chelsea Kiara Vanderson. I hope to learn from you as well as teach you if you're willing to learn." Chelsea said the normal curtsey between students.

Unknown to her, Anne had taken offence to what she said. Oh my, this girl is hard to please.

"Very good Miss Vanderson. Now Miss Roosevelt please headstart the exercise." Mrs Black said and that's when Chelsea's suspicious were confirmed.

Annette stepped forward and began singing, "đŸŽ¶If I could wish for one thing, I'll wish the smile that you bring. Stays foreverđŸŽ¶..."

Chaya closed her ears like she'd been doing for the past twenty minutes since the exercise began.

Everyone else were looking keenly at the girl until the moment she finished singing the same song she had been singing since the beginning of the exercise.

"Wow Miss Roosevelt, it seemed your getting better and better as the exercise is going on. Impressive." The teacher had repeating the same sentence whenever the girl finished singing.

The class gave her a light applause as their hands were getting sore from clapping too much.

Chaya kept giving Anne the death glare as everyone was clapping for her.

"Thank you, thank you so much. I'm flattered." Annette said giggling like a hyena making Chelsea cringe in contempt.

"That's enough!" Mrs Black ordered and the class stopped staring at the woman like an Angel descending from the sky.

"Okay Miss Vanderson, please start." Mrs Black said giving Chelsea the go-ahead to start.
