CHAPTER 7

Days had past but Richards spell had done no harm. After a while, Papa Morgan let it go and proceeded on to live his normal life. Abby was back home but wouldn't talk to her parents, she tried not to face Miss Swan because she didn't have the courage to confront anyone at this point. Abby was now like a zombie in the human world, she didn't talk to anyone except Dory and was extremely puzzled. She kept her head straight ahead and didn't a say word to anyone. Abby stopped going out in breaks, visiting the staff lounge, pulling pranks on her other friends, sneaking out late at night when her parents were asleep, and trashing the bullies' house.

She had become a totally different person. Dory was worried for her, every effort she put into cheering her up was going to waste. She also convinced Abby to talk to her family but she didn't listen. Although Vivian, Joe, and Abby lived under the same roof, they saw each other very rarely. Her relation with her parents had deteriorated due to these events. Vivian was really apprehensive towards Abby; she was continuously finding excuses to talk to Abby but she walked away. Vivian took her hand and sat her down the table,

"What is this huh?... is this how you are going to continue to live. I haven't seen you in days.", said Vivian.

"Oh really! haven't you been creeping up on me through the vent and curing my spell with your weird potions? Yeah mom, I know!", mocked Abby. Vivian didn't know what to say to her after this but she continued to carry out her speech, "Whatever I did, I did it to protect you!", said Vivian in a relatively high tone. "Well, you are not doing a great job then huh!", said Abby as she raised her voice.

"I am your mother you don't have a right to question me on my ways!", screamed Vivian, "I am your daughter and I have the right to know the truth about myself! It is my life, the life that I live. How could I go on knowing that my life is built on nothing but a lie!", sobbed Abby. Vivian couldn't put up a brave face in front of Abby, her emotions came flooding through as the fight between Abby and Vivian became intense. Joe came flying down from his room to look at Abby and Vivian, "Hey, HEY! Stop.... That is enough. Abby go to your room.", said Joe. "I would gladly go to hell rather than stay here and bicker with a bunch of liars.", said Abby angrily.

"Did you hear what she said! She called us liars!", screamed Vivian as Abby stomped her way up to her room. Joe tried to calm her down,

"What happened to our little baby?", cried Vivian. as she sat on the dining table chair with Joe. Joe held Vivians' hand and said, "We both talked about it. We tried to hide it to the best of our capabilities, but now... it is out of our hands Vivian. Let her go. Let her do what she wants.... let her find her real parents."

Vivian gave Joe a disgusting stare, "I am her mother, I AM. I RAISED HER AND I BIULT HER. NO ONE CAN TAKE HER AWAY FROM ME!", exclaimed Vivian. Joe exhaled and faced the floor, "Truth hurts Vivian, and it never stays hidden for long. Joe went back upstairs as Vivian got up from her chair to make breakfast, "I am her mother, I am her mother, I am her mother.", whispered Vivian in shock.

She was lost in her thoughts when a loud bang outside caught every ones' attention. Joe and Vivian stepped outside to take a look at the problem.

"Oh my god.", said Vivian as she covered her mouth with her hands. " This is a humans' weapon... what is it doing here?".

"I don't know?", answered Joe.

Abby peeked through her window to see where the noise came from. All of a sudden, another missile hit fairyland.

"What the hell.", whispered Joe.

The ground was shaken by the hit, buildings were lit up by the fire, and fairies were flying through the window to escape the burn.

"RUN, RUN, RUN OUT OF THE BUILDING!", screamed a fairy in the burning building.

"Abby get down here now!", yelled Joe in the house. Abby ran downstairs towards the door, "What is going on? What is it?".

"Come, come on, we are leaving now, the town is under attack!", said Vivian.

She gabbed Abbys' hand and flew outside. The entire town was flying away, as the missiles came splashing in. Everyone was crowded in one place, confused and dazzled. Rob came flying from his supermarket towards Vivian and Joe, "What is going....".

A missile hit Rob and lowered him to the ground as he made his way towards them. The missile exploded and took the life of Rob and a few others around him. The force from the missile, pushed Joe to the ground, "ROB!", screamed Joe at the top of his lungs.

"ROB! ROB! ROB", he continued to scream. He saw Rob die right in front of his eyes. There was nothing left of Rob, he was blown into pieces and his blood was splashed all over the place. Vivian tried to take Joe out of there as he sat on the ground screaming for Rob. Abby stood there frozen as the missile took down Rob, she was screaming and crying, falling to the ground with sorrow. Rob and Abby have been the closest to each other from the start. The thought of him not being around anymore killed her from the inside. Vivian was also grieving for Rob but now was not the time to show any signs of weakness.

"Get up we have to go please.", sobbed Vivian. Dory and her parents came running out of their house. Dory hugged Abby, Dory's parents helped Vivian and Joe to get to a safe place.

Papa Morgan came flying from his house to the center, "Everyone! get shelter! NOW!".

Lives were being lost and buildings were crumbling down. Rocks, grenades, bullets began to pour down on the fairies like rain. It was nothing less than judgment day. Arms were falling from the sky onto the fairies, houses, buildings, and fairies were on fire. Screams and cries filled the entire atmosphere. Families were losing their loved ones. The ground was shaking like a bouncing bed and the noises of these weapons became severe.

No one was in their senses; it was a hell hole.

"If I find Richard, I will tear him into pieces!", screamed Joe.

After running and flying in confusion, Papa Morgan finally found a safe place for others. It was small and not enough for a lot of fairies.

"We can't have all of them in here!", said Vivian.

"We can't leave them!", screamed Abby.

The backside of the safe place was blown up by the bombs. The fairies in the back exploded to death.

Vivian grabbed Joe and Abby as they quickly flew away from the hole. The entire town was terrorized by this event. Now that their only safe place blew up, they had nowhere to go. They were hopeless, it was the worst feeling ever. Miss Megan and Miss Swan came running out of the school with the others.

Ideas were running out and so was time. If they were to act, they had to do it now. Papa Morgan and the rest of the fairies used their magic to protect themselves from the effects of the heavy attacks. Papa Morgan and the rest of the fairies in the town created a big bubble of magic, protecting them from the shots, "We can't hold it for much longer, these weapons are too strong.", said one of the fairies.

"These are human weapons. Our magic is stronger than their weapons. We can do it just PUSH!".

From the very start, humans had been interested in Fairies powers and their magic. They wanted to steal their powers and use them for their betterment.

The fairies were successful in driving the missiles and weapons for the time being.

"Keep the shield strong, keep going, keep going,", sad Papa Morgan. The entire town was using their magic to protect themselves from the weapons. All of a sudden, the weapons stopped pouring. The missiles and grenades, the bombing had stopped. The Fairies were at first confused but they knew that this won't be the last of the attack. Papa Morgan, along with the rest of the fairies went to the woods to find a safe place for the rest of the town.

The town was covered with blood and building remains. The entire town was destroyed, there was nothing left but ashes.

Joe was silent throughout the journey, the thought of moving on from Robs' death was killing him. Tears ran down his cheeks as Rob appeared at the back of his head. He was taken back to his childhood memories when both of them used to go to school together, play outside together and make a mess together.

"This can't be happening, it can't.", cried Joe, "I can't live without him.". Abby was walking beside Joe, and hearing him say this broke her from the inside. Abby was already drowning in sorrow and Rob's death had a negative impact on her.

Lots and lots of lives were lost that day. The moving herd was nothing but sad and miserable, mourning the death of their loved ones.

"Where are we going to go?", asked Dory. "I don't know, we are just following Papa Morgan. He would know what to do.", replied her mother.

Papa Morgan was leading them deep into the forest. This forest was an abandoned jungle, no one had ever been to this area of fairyland. It was a weird-looking forest. Although it had tall trees, grass, and bushes like a normal forest, something about it was very creepy. The vibe it gave was very unpleasant.

"Why are we going in the jungle. Can't the missiles enter from here?", asked Abby. "This Jungle is an ancient jungle. It has sworn to protect the things that enter this forest.", replied Vivian.

The sky above the forest was very weird. It was a pinkish greyish sky, fading into the background. The clouds were thicker than usual and black. It seemed magical, mysterious, and ghostly at the same time.

The fairies walked a few miles and approached a barren area of land. It was not covered with grass nor bushes; it was a dry piece of land. The fairies sat down to catch their breath. Papa Morgan and the council members assembled to talk about the situation.

"He disabled the shield.", said Papa Morgan.

"What? He disabled the protection shield?", asked Vivian. "The shield was protecting us and separating the fairyland from the human world. With that gone, humans can enter and attack. Richard must have spoken with them, told them about the land and our existence.", added Papa Morgan.

"Now that the shield is gone, can humans enter our land?", asked Candace.

"Yes, they can.", replied Papa Morgan. A moment of silence was observed. Fairyland was created to protect the fairies from the wrath of these humans. Since the early ages, humans have done nothing but bring terror and harm to the fairies. Their greed consumed them like a fiery rage. They had put a bounty on the fairies' heads and hunted them down like animals. However, this was not the case forever. A long time ago, the fairies, leprechauns, and humans lived in complete harmony. As time went on, the seed of modernization and development had grown in their minds. They saw the fairies' power and magic as a way for their success. At first, they asked the fairies to donate their fairy dust for the betterment of the world. They did for a while. Earlier, fairies had limited fairy dust. They refused to give more to the humans because they would lack fairy dust. The humans saw this rejection as an insult and started abducting them, extracting their dust, and killing them afterward so they won't warn the others.

Things got worse and worse. Abducting fairies became a thing in the human world. The fairies started to hide away in secret passages and holes to seek asylum from the humans' torture. The humans began to hunt them and kill them in public. No one stood up to this torment. The fairies were all alone in this fight. Then Martha stood up against this evil act to form a safe area for fairies.

"What are we going to do now?", asked Joe.

"We need to be ready for every possibility, every attack, every weaponized attack. They may have strong weapons but they don't have our powers. We together can destroy them and win this. We just need to hope that Richard does not return.", said Papa Morgan.

Vivian looked back at Abby. She was sitting with Miss Swan and was talking to her. Vivian didn't want Abby and Swan to be together, she walked towards them and asked Dory to go to Abby. Dory nudged Abby and said, "Your mom sent me. She doesn't want you to talk to Miss Swan.". Miss Swan got up and sat with Miss Megan. Miss Megan was still overwhelmed by the death of Miss Ginny.

"Seriously? I can't believe her. What is wrong with her? She is only trying to protect herself and hide the truth from me.", said Abby in an angry tone.

"Calm down.", said Dory, "We are legit in the middle of an apocalypse and can't you move on from the mother-daughter fight thing you have going on? Right now, I can't believe you!", said Dory. Abby exhaled and turned her face away from Dory, "Fine then, why don't you go and support my mom because you think she is right.", said Abby.

"Get a grip dumbo. You are already not talking to your parents; you can't afford to let go of me too. You need me.", said Dory.

Abby looked at Dory and said, "Right now the thing I need the most is a therapist! So please..... GO!", said Abby. Dory turned around and walked away saying, "I don't understand your mood swings these days. And if you aren't forgetting, I am your therapist, your consoler. Wherever you go you have to come back to me you know.".

Abby was not having a great day, no one was. It was sad, gloomy, lost, confusing, and unbearable. Abby had been shouldering the burden of the chaos happening in the last couple of days and now the loss of Rob had her completely shattered. She tried her best not to show any signs of grief, she put a strong mask over a broken face.

The fairies were seated patiently in the middle of the forest when human noises and whispering caught everyone's attention.

"Oh no, no, no, no, no!", said one of the fairies, "The humans! The humans are coming. RUN!", he screamed.

The entire area was now full into panic mode, the humans had never shown them any sympathy and they never will.

"Don't make any noise, stay close and stay down.", said Papa Morgan. Abby and Dory laid below on the land, some of them hid in the bushes, some in trees, and some far away in the jungle. They tried their best to hide away from the humans.

The trees and the bushes began to move around sideways vigorously as the footsteps got closer and closer.

"They are getting closer.", cried Dory. The trees whistled for a while but stopped after a few minutes, "I don't understand, why isn't the magical forest doing anything to protect us?", questioned Vivian.

The footsteps fainted away and the movement stopped. The fairies thought that the humans had returned and got out of their hiding spaces, "Are they gone?", asked one of the fairies creeping out through the bushes. "I think they are.", replied another fairy.

A quick second later, the humans came barging at the fairies, surrounding them from all 4 sides, "GET DOWN NOW!", screamed one of the humans.

The fairies sat down on the ground in terror as the humans invaded their space. Abby grabbed Dory tightly and Vivian ran through the crowd to lay he eyes on Abby. Joe was with Papa Morgan, face down on the floor. Tears were rolling down their eyes as visions of torture and pain appeared in their minds. "Grab all of them and load them in the cars.", said a human.

The humans circled in on the fairies and grabbed them one by one. The humans thought that the fairies had surrendered but as soon as the humans touched the fairies, they used their magic to push them away. The humans screamed in pain as the magic dust hit their faces. Miss Megan got up and used her powers to deactivate the weapons. She managed to deactivate a few guns but was too late in doing the rest.

An intense fight between the humans and the fairies led to a bloodshed massacre. When the humans saw the fairies fight back, they started shooting and killing them. Bullets flew across the air like lightning, hurting many innocent fairies. They were ambushed and attacked. The entire atmosphere was flooded with bullets and fairy dust.

"GET DOWN!", shouted Papa Morgan. "ABBY! ABBY! ABBY!", screamed Vivian and Joe in an attempt to find her in a cluster of smoke and dust.

Abby couldn't see anything but the smoke around her. She was knocked out on the ground when a human tried to tackle Miss Megan and drag her into the truck. Abby was in Miss Megans' hand when she was caught, her head hit the floor and she laid there unconscious on the ground. She was having trouble breathing and seeing. She raised her head when she tried to push herself up. Dory was screaming in a distance when her family was being loaded into the car,

"NOOOOOOOO!", yelled Dory. Abby only heard echoes of the screams and shouting. She heard her mother screaming, running towards her. Abby didn't have the strength to get up and run. Vivians' voice echoed in Abbys' ear. Vivian was driven down by an armed human, he forced her down on the ground and pulled her in the truck. Vivian blew fairy dust in his eyes and the human screamed, knocking Vivian out with the back of his gun.

Joe was on the other side with Papa Morgan, still practicing the defense strategy. They were fighting the humans with everything they got, but sadly they were no match for human power. Miss Swan didn't have powers, she didn't have wings, she didn't have any armor to fight. She was in the corner trying to keep all the little children safe.

Vivian, Joe, Dory, Miss Megan, and Miss Swan along with other fairies, were locked away in the cages in the trunk.

The fairies were struggling, wiggling, tackling, doing everything they could to free themselves from their traps.

"The last batch is coming in, ready to depart.", said the commander of humans.

Some of the fairies were dead, some of them were captured and some of them were injured. The town was crumbling down, blood ran through the floors of the forest to the thin streets. Richard had used his magic to drain the powers of the forest so that it might not protect the fairies when they are under attack. This was the first time in fairy history that the land had been invaded by humans. It wasn't a pretty picture nor a nice feeling. Abby was unconscious on the ground, covered in the blood of the other fairies.
