Magic Council Ambush

(Jason's POV)

"Alright..." I said as I stepped out of the magical doorway, "Today's another good day...." 

I closed the door behind me and pulled the Workshop Key out of the keyhole. I then took a step back and smiled at the door in front of me. 

I was in the middle of nowhere, right in front of this abandoned and demolished house that merely had a portion of a wall and a barely functioning door. 

"Ain't I lucky to have you here." I said with a smirk

The cool thing about the Workshop Key is that it works with any door that has a proper frame and can open and close. This one may not have a room to open into, but with my key, the magic can still be activated. 

It's been a couple of days since I left the Hot Springs resort, I spent most of them on the workshop, working on my projects. 

Update on some of them-

My Airship: Almost complete, just need to calibrate some stuff on it. Thankfully I have Advanced Core and Machine God Slayer magic to make it much easier. I also want to make it compatible/fused with Magic God Slayer Magic so I can access some spells from it without manually going into it. 

Magic/Holy Spear: Ten Commandments: Still in the process of fueling it with magic power. After years of being an empty shell, it really got messed up. It broke and shattered a couple of times because of the over-abundance of magic power getting into it so I had to repair it. I added some God-Steel on it so it could be more durable and wouldn't break again in the process. This one will be trickier than I imagined. 

Trick Weapons: The majority of them are done. Some I had started on them during Edolas using the gunpowder I crafted for them. I basically used that gunpowder and gave it a bit of oomph to craft certain weapons. Some of them came out pretty well and can't wait to try them out. 

Guns: I somehow was able to craft some pretty strong guns. I got this one pistol/hand cannon from a certain game I used to play, It needs a little bit of tweaking but overall, it performs as I need it to. 

That's pretty much it. I still have other things I want to do, but so far, this is it. 

"Was kinda busy, wasn't I?" I said aloud

I then turned around and began to walk down the empty dirt road this abandoned demolished house was next to. 

As I walked, I felt an odd pressure coming from my body. 

"Hm?" I said

Suddenly, I saw as the Blue Screen appear, struggling to do so as it was nothing but static. 

"A-ATT-.....ATTEN-" 

I raised an eyebrow, "You good?" 

It's been a long time since I even seen this thing. The whole time in Edolas and ever since I got back, after several tries of pulling it out, I realized it was busted or something. Now, it appears it can appear already. 

Then it glowed brightly as it appeared completely. 

"ATTENTION: NEW SPELLS AVAILABLE FOR WAR MAGIC. YOU HAVE 55 POINTS TO SPEND." 

I smirked, "Long time no see, buddy." I said, "What you been up to?" 

"SINCE YOUR TIME IN EDOLAS, YOU WERE CUT OFF FROM MAGIC. I AM TECHNICALLY MAGIC SO I WAS UNABLE TO APPEAR TO AID YOU. AND IT TOOK A BIT OF TIME TO ADJUST TO THE SUDDEN RETURN TO EARTHLAND. NOT ONLY THAT, YOU DID SOMETHING I NEVER EXPECTED. YOU PASSED THE FORBIDDEN ANIMA GATE." 

I frowned, "What?" 

"THAT ANIMA GATE WAS FORBIDDED, IT WAS IMPERFECT. DUE TO YOU PASSING THROUGH THE SPACE BETWEEN DIMENSIONS, YOU CAME INTO CONTACT WITH SOMETHING THAT CAUSED MORE INTERFERENCE ON MY PART." 

Was he talking about the glow and massive magic power that I felt? 

"What the hell was that thing?" I asked

"I CANNOT SAY."

"Tch." I said, "Of course you can't." 

"I REPEAT: NEW SPELLS AVAILABLE FOR UNLOCKING. 55 POINTS AVAILABLE." 

I sighed, "Alright." I said, "Let's see it." 

The Screen then switched to a page. The usual routine. 

It read: 

Path of The Ancient: Battlefield-

Charge of The Grand Cavalry: Change the landscape in a battle-ridden open field. Your opponents are left on either the other side of the field or by the middle of it. They are then charged by a massive stampede of armored horses mounted by knights wielding lances. Upon making contact with them, the Cavalry skewers your opponents with no mercy. (15 points.)

Frontal Siege: Activate the spell and change the landscape of the ground. Surround yourself by a massive and sturdy fort that is cut off by a massive ditch with boiling water and a closed draw-bridge. Massive burning stakes surround the front. Your opponents cannot flank the fort or fly above it, they only attempt to bypass the defenses from the front. The top of the ramparts contain massive ballistae that fire off exploding bolts, making this Siege a real tough one. (15 points)

Quite the interesting spells. I clicked on both of them, unlocking them. I had already spent 30 points, leaving me with only 20. 

"Anything else?" I asked the screen

"YES. YOU HAVE A COMBINED GOD SLAYER AND WAR MAGIC SPELL." 

A combination spell? Damn. That sounds really good. 

I saw that the screen switched to a different page. 

It Read: 

Sage God's Battlefield Shift: Combining the High Enchantment powers of Sage God Slayer Magic and landscaping power of Battlefield, you're able to instantly shift the battlefield, enchanting it with whatever you desire. This allows you to create your own Battlefield spell of your own customization. However, it should be noted that this spell requires a bit more magic power than regular Battlefield Spells. That said, the magic power trade-off is worth it as most Sage God's Battlefield Shifts are incredibly powerful. (20 points.)

Huh, exactly 20 points. That's fine I guess. 

I clicked on it, unlocking it. This sounds really fucking broken if used right. With the lessons I picked up from Irene when we had sex and the way I easily learned them, I think I can use this spell with no issues. 

"THERE ARE 2 MORE AVAILABLE BUT YOU HAVE NO POINTS LEFT." 

The page switched again. 

It read: 

Spears of The Battle God: Activating this spell grants you access to incredibly powerful spears that have different enchantments. There are 7 spears to choose from, they possess immense magic power and their effects vary. It should be noted that you can only use these spears only when this magic is activated. You cannot activate any other high tier spell while this spell is active. Unlock a certain passive effect to allow that. (15 points.)

The bottom part was empty because I haven't unlocked it, I guess. Once I do, I assume the description will tell me what the spears do. Sounds really powerful but I have to sacrifice Battlefield in order to use it. Unless I unlock a passive, which is odd, I thought only Magic Arts Magic had passives. I guess Black God Slayer Magic did have one, the one that allowed me to eat the Eclipsed Darkness and The Curse...

Well, with 15 points, I guess it's fair. I should wait to have enough points to unlock it. It sounds strong for a direct confrontation, rather than a battle where I'm fighting too many people. 

The page then switched

It Read: 

Cursed Blade of The Ancient War King: Summon an incredibly powerful sword. This sword once belonged to an Ancient War King who was able to conquer many nations wielding this blade. The sword is not only cursed, but it can take the form of multiple swords. A long sword with a black rusted blade, a massive greatsword that emits smoke, and because of the War King's relationship with a princess of the Eastern continent, a long Katana with a burning edge. 

The War King was consumed with an insatiable bloodlust that was adapted to the sword, leaving this ancient relic a cursed and overwhelming need for human blood. 

- It is Cursed, meaning that upon summoning the sword, the form is random. Not only that, it shuts off any other form of magic power as it drains yours. 

- The more magic power it drains, the more destructive power it deals. It has the ability to bypass any sort of defensive power. 

- Once summoned, it requires a certain amount of blood in order to satisfy it. You cannot release this spell until said blood has been fed to the sword. 

(20 points.)

"What the hell?" I said, "This thing sounds crazy." 

Those two spells, I have to be on the lookout for them. I need to get more points. The second one sounds like a drag, honestly, but I'm curious to see what it's about. I reckon it'll be far more powerful than any other sword I can summon using War Magic's regular conjuration. But I'm confident I can forge a stronger blade than that. 

I just need time. 

"Alright, screen." I said, "I reckon we go and have more sex, don't ya think?" 

"YOU SHOULD ALWAYS HAVE SEX. MORE SEX MEANS MORE POINTS. MORE POINTS MEAN MORE POWER." 

I chuckled, "Ain't that the truth." 

I then felt a strange sensation in the back of my head. 

"Hm?" I said looking back

I felt as if someone was watching me. I scanned the treeline next to the road, I felt several presences there. A fair amount of magic power coming from the trees, not just there, but all around me. Even in the open field. 

"Hm..." I said, "An ambush?" 

As I said that, I watched as a massive ball of light shot towards me. I moved my head to the side as it whistled past me, hearing it crash into the ground and exploding. 

I then saw a crowd of mages appear from the treeline, surrounding me as they readied their magic staves. They wore the Magic Council robes and uniforms. 

"Tch..." I said, "Erza was right...." 

I then saw two mages appear out of nowhere. One had long hair that was tied up and wore glasses, the other had somewhat shorter hair and had a significant scar on his cheek. 

That was Doranbolt and Lahar. 

"Jason." Lahar said, "You're under arrest." 

"Why?" I asked

"That is for the Magic Council Chairman to decide." Lahar said, "Come quietly and you won't get hurt." 

I chuckled, "Uh..." I said, "No." 

"Don't resist." Doranbolt said seriously, "You don't want to escalate this to a fight." 

The other mages pointed their staves at me, charging up their magic attacks. They were ready for a tussle, it seems. 

I shrugged, "You fuckers shot at me first." I said, "So as far as I'm concerned...." 

I snapped my fingers, causing the ground to shake violently. 

Lahar and Doranbolt looked down at the ground with surprise. 

"What the..." Lahar said

"This magic power!" Doranbolt exclaimed

"Battlefield: " 

The ground began to emit bright rays of white light as it shook even more. 

"This is already a fight." I said with a smirk, "You Magic Council Nerds." 

"Hunted By A Lone Shadow."
