Erza's Departure

(Jason's POV)

"So...." Erza said as we stood on the balcony, "It's time I head back home. My job is done, I have to return to Ishgar." 

I nodded, "I see." I said, "Want me to give you a ride?" 

"Uhm..." She said, "The waters outside this island are a bit rough...but.." 

It was the following day after I took her to the workshop. I gave her the Dark Sword, teaching her how she could effectively use it. I then spent a couple of hours showing her most of my trick weapons. 

She was particularly enthralled by a certain sword that a beautiful white-haired lady wielded in the game I took inspiration from. I told her it was fully complete but when it was, I would gladly let her use it. 

I looked at her, "What is it?" 

"You look determined to help these people out." She said, "Are you sure you want to leave the island." 

I shrugged, "I can have Felicity fly the ship for you." I told her, "She can drop you off at the nearest port town in Ishgar." 

"Ship? Felicity?" she said confused

Wait, I didn't tell her and Ultear about that? Damn. 

As in cue, the badge on my shirt gave the static, "Hello, I am the Warmind: Felicity." Felicity said through the speaker, "If Master Jason wishes for me to fly towards Ishgar, I shall do so. Worry not, The Archangel's Might is a mighty Warship and with me piloting it, your journey will be a safe one." 

Erza had a look of confusion, "Uhm.." 

I chuckled as I leaned against the railing of the balcony, "She can explain everything she's allowed to during the ride." I told her, "I'll stay here in the meantime. It's the least I can do." 

Erza looked at me, "But may I ask...." She said, "Why? You....don't know these people." 

"No." I said, "But....it's my fault this happened to them." 

She looked at me, "What? How so?" 

I looked at her, "Don't tell anyone what I'm about to say." I said seriously, "Felicity, activate the sound-proof barrier." 

"Roger." Felicity said

I heard a small hum as the invisible barrier I had placed so that when I fucked Karameel, nobody will hear us again. I've been dicking her down a few times over the past couple of nights. That's not important right now though. 

"Jason..." Erza started

I lifted my arm and summoned a shard of black ice, my Frost God Slayer magic was activated. 

"This is Frost God Slayer Magic.." I said, "Because of this...these people were afflicted with madness.." 

Erza looked at me, "I....I don't understand...." She said

"After I defeated Endless, its weapon, the Calamitous Edge was lodged in the ground of my Cursed Domain." I began to explain, "And right after all that shit came to pass, I was approached by Silver, the Devil Slayer from Tartaros, the one responsible for it's crumbling. He wanted the Halberd and in exchange, he'd give me the tome to unlock this magic." 

Erza widened her eyes, "Wait..." 

I nodded, "Yea." I said, "I was an idiot. I foolishly traded arguably the most powerful weapon in existence for a fucking tome for God Slayer Magic when I didn't need it. Hell, I don't even use it. I only used it once and it was against the fucking bastard I fought just recently...." 

"Jason...." Erza said

I clenched my fists, "It's all my fault." I said, "Because of my foolish mistake, these people suffered. Not only that, the demon-folk that have refuged on this island, were also hurt by Silver. That's why.....that's why I took it upon myself to fight..." 

I mostly wanted to redeem myself against Suzaku, pay him back for humiliating me. But since he was cutting down innocent lives, deep down I wanted to prevent that. Not only that, Suzaku knew that Silver did all of this. So I wanted to perform some kind of Justice. 

To atone. 

"Jason." Erza grabbed my hand, "It is not your fault. You didn't know what that weapon was truly capable of.....don't blame myself...." 

I gently pried my hand away, "It is my fault." I said, "And until I atone for this...I won't rest until I find that bastard and stop him from hurting more people." 

"This Silver." She said, "He sounds like an enigma." 

I sighed, "It's much more complicated than that..." I said, "Listen Erza...I.....I just need to find him." 

"Jason, we spoke about this." She said, "I've said it before. You cannot.....you cannot let yourself-"

"I'm not gonna fall into darkness, Erza." I said, "I want to take the Halberd from him and undo what he did. These people didn't deserve it. They helped and refuged the demon-folk who had nowhere to go. The demons attempted to defend them when Silver attacked. They're good people, they didn't deserve this. And it's my fault. It's my responsibility.....I have to find him...." 

Erza looked at me, "I see...." She said

I nodded, "I'll stop him from doing any more stupid shit." I said, "I think it's time I stop him, Erza. Even if I have to do it with help, I have no other choice. Even if I have to recruit help from your old friend, that blue-haired annoying bastard." 

I turned around when I said that. 

"Jellal?" She said, "You and Jellal have spoken?" 

I nodded, "Yea we keep in touch." I said, "I told him to try and keep Grimoire Heart off of me, whatever is left from it. And to speak with the Council just in case they try another operation to arrest me. He has his uses." 

She chuckled, "I guess so..." She said

I nodded, "yea..." I said looking up at the sky, "I must do this, Erza...." 

"I understand." she said, "I won't stop you. Not like I can. Just take care of yourself." 

I looked back at her, "Of course." I said, "You too." 

She gave me a smile, "Yea." She said softly, "Alright.....I'll take my leave." 

I nodded, "Okay." I said, "Here. Felicity will guide you to where the ship is. You don't gotta do anything, she'll do all the flying. And if by any chance you get attacked, she'll handle the fighting. Unless you wanna help, then just listen to whatever she tells you." 

I handed her another communications badge I got from the ship a couple of days back. 

Erza smiled, "O-Okay." 

Her badge let out a static sound, "Miss Erza, good to work with you." I heard Felicity say, "I hope our journey will be well." 

Erza looked at me, "Goodbye Jason." She said

"Until we meet again."
