3 Spar (I)

Noah entered the guildhall. Only Master Makarov and a few others were present. They were setting up the guildhall. Seeing him entering the guild, Master smiled at him and motioned to sit near him.

"You are here early? People here don't arrive till noon. I think I told you that"

"Yeah, I decided to visit early. I wanted to look around for a house in the city. Strauss siblings said that they would help me and we decided to meet early." Noah replied.

"Oh! Looking for a house hah! Better be prepared. The rent in magnolia is quite high."

"Hmm. I know the inns were pretty costly too. Damn! is there really no dormitory or hostels in the guild?" Noah asked with hope.

"There were dormitories for males earlier but it got destroyed twice. After that, we stop building it. Ahh! Fun times." Master said with a reminiscent expression.

Noah winced a little. The guild was a little too destructive. He remembered his welcoming party yesterday. After getting his red fairy stamp on his right hand all members started partying to celebrate his joining.

The party somehow turned to a brawl and then the brawl turned to a magical brawl. He was a little bit frightened. No matter how much Mirajane said it was normal, it didn't seem normal to him. It would take a long time to get used to it.

He ordered a drink and waited. After half an hour or so, Mirajane arrived. She walked up to bar and sat near him.

"Ready to go", she asked.

"Yeah!. Let me finish my drink", Noah replied not noticing the strange looks he and Mirajane were getting.

Makarov turned to Ella, the bartender, and asked, "Mira is smiling, right?"

"Yeah! And talking mannerly."

"No more dark and skimpy dress."

They once again looked at the pair walking out of the guild. It was both absurd and terrifying seeing her like that.

Mirajane and Noah toured around the town. Magnolia was a merchant town. There are shops around every corner selling clothes, foods, jewelry, and even magical instruments. Kardia Catherdal stood in the middle with four roads stretching from it dividing the whole town.

"If you want to rent a house, we have to go to the west part of the town. The residential complex is there. Though cost is a bit pricey. Well, mages earn a lot of money so I think it won't be a problem." Mirajane said as they toured around the town.

Noah nodded and listened to her describe the place. They saw South Great Park, Thomas Coffee Shop, Magnolia Hospital, and other places on the way around. It was good to know about places from locals. They reached a brown-colored three-storey apartment complex.

Entering the hall, they were greeted by an old lady, sitting behind a counter, drinking tea. Noah went up to the counter and greeted her.

"Hello, Mam. Good Morning!"

"Yeah! So what do you want?" She raised her head to look at him and said directly.

Not bothered Noah replied, "I was looking for a house to rent here. Can you tell me if it is available or not?"

"You a mage?" She asked. Noah nodded. She then handed him a pamphlet and said, "Read all this. This is the contract. You have any problems you can leave."

Taking the pamphlet from the old lady, his eyes bugged. 30,000 jewels per month for a single room. Damn! Is it an apartment complex or a bandit house! Why doesn't she directly rob him? Also, what are these rules? Does he look like someone who destroys things willy-nilly? Also the compensation cost for every article. It seems more costly than buying a new one.

Seeing his expressions Mirajane quickly hurried to his side and reminded. "This is the cheapest one. Also, you don't have to stay for a long time here? With your strength, you can quickly earn money and buy your own house."

Noah calmed down and agreed. Damn! he didn't think in this new life, he would have to face annoying landlords. Seem like some things don't change, no matter the world. Annoying landlords are universal!

After paying the deposits, they quickly left the place. As thanks for accompanying him, Noah took Mirajane to a restaurant to eat.

"So, what type of guy is Gildarts?" Noah asked casually.

"He is the strongest wizard of fairy tail."

"Even stronger than the master."

"Hmm... Don't know. but he is stronger than all others." Mirajane replied with an admiring tone. He seemed like a big-shot if he is comparable to a wizard-saint. "Your mother didn't tell you about Gildarts?"

"Nah! She didn't know much about him. She just said he was a cute-funny guy."

"Pfft... Cute Gildarts? I have to tell the guild about this." Mirajane started laughing.

After a bit of laughing, he asked again, "So how is the man? Not his magic power but nature? Is he a strict, responsible person or a cool jolly guy?"

"Well, Gildarts is sort of a mix of cool big-brother or uncle in the guild. He is fun too around. He is a little bit clumsy but serious in important matters. Overall he is a nice man. You don't need to worry." She said with a teasing tone.

"He seems a cool guy," Noah replied. He really didn't know how to get along with his father here. At least he didn't see him as a father figure. It would be good to have a friendly relationship. He didn't him monitoring him. He is too old for that.

They talked about other topics for a while and then they returned to the guild. As they entered the guild they were called upon by the Master.

"Noah, come here!" He shouted loudly spotting him at the gate.

"So you found a place to stay?" He asked.

"Yes, Master" Noah replied.

"Good. You planned on doing quests, right?"

"Yes"

"Then let's get this over with." He said.

"Natsu, Erza follow me." He shouted and went outside the guild to a training ground. Both Natsu and Erza arrived at the field and some other members also followed to see.

"Master!" they greeted him.

Makarov nodded and then pointed to Noah and Natsu. "You two spar. I have to check Noah's strength to see quests he could take."

"Hell Yeah!" Natsu cheered. "I am all fired up."

Noah also nodded and took out his sword, still sheathed. They faced each other.

"Start" Makarov shouted and Natsu lunged at Noah.

"Fire Dragon: Iron fist" The fist rushed at Noah's face. He swung his sword and they collided.

"BAM!"

Natsu continued with a barrage of attacks, which Noah easily blocked with his swords.

"BAM""BAM""BAM""BAM""BAM""BAM""BAM""BAM""BAM""BAM""BAM""BAM""BAM""BAM""BAM""BAM". The barrage of fist and blocking continued for a minute or so.

"He is completely on the defensive. It seems Natsu will win this fight." Levy replied as they separated from each other.

"No," Mirajane replied. "Natsu will lose. Look at him he is breathing normally whereas Natsu looks a little tired already.

Natsu was painting a little. He looked at Noah who looked unruffled. He didn't even have hair out of place. "Looks like your strong eh. Next block this." Natsu took a deep breath. "Fire Dragon Roar" and breathed out a large number of flames.

Noah pointed his sword at the incoming flames. "Edgeless Sword Second Style: Absorb." The fire vanished as they reached the blade.

"Fire Dragon: Dragon Wings Slash" Natsu took the first attack as a cover and attacked again. Seeing him coming Noah slashed his sword at Natsu. Edgeless Sword Third Style: Reflect."

"BOOM!" An explosion occurred and Natsu was flung out. His previous attack and the current one were blasted at him. He crashed against a tree.

"BAM!"

Noah looked at Makarov gesturing whether to continue or not. Makarov smiled and said, "The fight ain't over yet."

BOOM! A large sound came where Natsu crashed. He flung aside the tree. Then he started inhaling all the flames in the surroundings. Noah looked in bewilderment while guild members grinned.

"I am full now." Natsu bumped both his fists. A fierce grin split across his face. "You are so going down."

"Oh really!" It seemed fire can help him recover. Noah thought. He smirked and said, "You haven't even made me move from my position yet. You think you can take me down."

Everyone looked at where he was standing and they were flabbergasted. He really hadn't taken a single step from where he was standing. Natsu also noticed this and got angry.

"Fire dragon Horn" he rushed forward charging straight towards him.

Edgeless Style First Form: Drain" Noah slashed at Natsu. The blade passed through splitting the fire enveloping him and struck him on his neck as if to behead him. Everyone cried as the blade passes through. Natsu collapsed on the ground.

"You asshole!" Erza rushed towards Noah a sword on her hand. "You killed Natsu."

"CLASH!"

Two blades collided. Erza started attacking relentlessly in anger.

"CLASH" "SLASH" "SLICE"

"Hey, he ain't dead."

"CLASH" "SLASH" "SLICE"

"Calm down! He just unconscious"

"CLASH" "SLASH" "SLICE"

"Are you even listening to me?"

"CLASH" "SLASH" "SLICE"

"Damn! Looks like I have to put you down too. Damn red-haired hothead.."

As he was preparing for an attack, a roar resounded.

"ERZA STOP!"

"But master he killed Natsu!" Ezra said with tears in her eyes.

"Natsu is all right. Look clearly he is breathing. It's his magic that makes it look like he cut through. Didn't Mirajane tell you about it?"

"I told the ugly crone about it. But she didn't remember. Well, she is a blind fool who can't even see clearly." Mirajane said with a smirk.

"You didn't tell anything, you witch!" "Shut-up red-head bimbo"

"YOU BITCH!!!"

"CALM DOWN YOU CHILDREN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Makarov shouted. Both girls stopped. "Erza you should judge things properly before coming to conclusions," Mirajane smirked. "And Mira you should not make fun of feelings of people towards their friend's wellbeing." This time Erza smiled.

"Hah!" Makarov sighed in frustration seeing them like this.

"It seems that you are stronger than Natsu. He didn't give you much trouble right as you are still on the same spot." He said with a bit of reprimand towards Noah.

Noah flushed in shame. He always wanted to say cool lines during fights but didn't think that the following actions would lead to such trouble. It sounded cringy now that Master said it.

Seeing him Makarov smirked. The kid had spunk, though was a little thin-skinned. "Well, let's give you an opponent that would make you move. Erza, you will fight him next."
