15 Chapter 15 : Advance to S-rank Mage!

Fried and Mira exchanged shocked glances as they surveyed the scene before them. They had faced these monsters in battle before and understood the formidable strength possessed by their leader.

The sight of Kyros effortlessly incapacitating the seemingly stronger monster leader left them dumbfounded. With a single swift strike, Kyros had managed to sever half of the monster's body.

"Ky... Kyros... Why did you save Laxus just now?" Fried questioned, perplexed by Kyros's sudden act of rescuing Laxus.

Kyros furrowed his brows and responded, "What are you implying? Isn't it natural to come to the aid of a fellow guild member? Regardless of Laxus's behavior, he is still a comrade. I couldn't stand by and watch him die."

"Besides, the rest of them are fair game for a beating."

Fried fell into a contemplative silence at Kyros's words.

"Well said!"

A voice interrupted the silence, and two figures emerged from the sidelines.

It was none other than Makarov, the guild master, and Gildarts, Fairy Tail's sole S-rank wizard. Gildarts was the one who had just spoken.

"Guild Master?!"

"Uncle?! What are you doing here?"

Recognition dawned on their faces as they realized the unexpected presence of the guild master and Gildarts.

Gildarts grinned and explained, "This is your S-level assessment. It's only natural for us to ensure your safety."

The realization struck them; Gildarts had been in town for a while, ready to intervene if the situation called for it.

"But I must say, Kyros, your strength is truly remarkable. In a few years, you might even surpass me as Fairy Tail's strongest wizard."

Kyros shook his head modestly. "I still have a long way to go before I can even come close to matching your prowess, Uncle Gildarts."

Turning to Makarov, Fried inquired, "What comes next in the assessment?"

Makarov sighed and replied, "There's no need for further tests. Your original task was to defeat the monster leader, and you've already accomplished that. Consider the assessment completed ahead of schedule."

"So…" Mirajane and Fried's eyes widened in surprise.

Makarov beamed, nodding as he announced, "Indeed! Kyros has successfully passed the S-rank mage assessment and is now officially promoted to the rank of S-rank mage within the Fairy Tail guild!"

"S-class?" Kyros was taken aback when the guild master mentioned his promotion to S-rank mage.

Ever since he first laid eyes on the Fairy Tail anime, Kyros had harbored a dream of one day joining the guild and becoming a formidable S-class wizard. Yet, now that the dream had materialized, he couldn't help but feel a sense of surrealism.

"That's fantastic, Kyros! Congratulations on becoming an S-class mage!" Mirajane exclaimed joyfully, leaping up to grasp Kyros's shoulder. However, upon realizing her overly enthusiastic gesture, she blushed and hastily withdrew her hand.

"Humph! You think this makes you the big shot? Just you wait, I'll become an S-class mage too," Mirajane declared with determination.

Kyros nodded sincerely. "Ah, I believe you'll achieve S-class status as well."

Mira paused for a moment, realizing that becoming an S-class mage was no easy feat. After all, despite the many powerful mages in the Fairy Tail guild over the years, only Gildarts had attained the rank of S-class mage.

Kyros's unwavering confidence in her ability to achieve the same status stirred something within Mira, causing her heart to beat a little faster as she looked at his handsome face.

"Thanks…" Mira began to say, but then quickly reconsidered. Why should she be thanking him? It felt strange.

"Of course!" Kyros replied with a smile, though he knew that in the future, Mirajane would be renowned within the Fairy Tail guild as the 'Magic Man,' an S-class mage.

"Congratulations…" Fried's expression was somewhat stiff as he congratulated Kyros.

Deep down, Fried had always believed that Laxus would be the one to achieve S-class status. He never imagined that a newcomer like Kyros could join the guild and defeat Laxus within a year.

Normally, as one of Laxus's followers, he wouldn't be extending congratulations to someone who defeated his superior. Yet, Kyros's actions in saving Laxus and his words had managed to win him over.

Despite being a year younger, Kyros had proven himself worthy of being called a Fairy Tail mage and attaining the rank of S-class.

"Thank you," Kyros nodded appreciatively at Fried.

Laxus addressed Kyros with sincerity, "Congratulations, Kyros. However, don't let pride cloud your judgment. Achieving S-Class status marks just the beginning. There's a vast world awaiting you beyond."

"Thank you," Kyros replied earnestly, acknowledging Laxus's wisdom. He understood that reaching S-Class was merely a milestone, not the ultimate destination.

Makarov, observing Kyros's reaction, couldn't conceal his surprise. A year ago, Kyros was merely a teenager rescued from Sirius Island, and now he stood before them as an S-Class mage of Fairy Tail. Perhaps, Makarov mused, fate had intervened in bringing Kyros to their guild.

Comparatively, Makarov couldn't help but feel a tinge of disappointment towards Laxus. It wasn't a matter of strength but of maturity. Laxus had yet to fully grow, both in power and character.

As excitement filled the Fairy Tail guild hall, Makarov made a public announcement, declaring Kyros as the newest S-Class mage of the guild. The atmosphere erupted with joy and enthusiasm. It had been years since Fairy Tail had seen the rise of an S-Class mage, with Gildarts being the sole pillar of support.

The significance of Kyros's achievement wasn't lost on anyone. It symbolized a new era for Fairy Tail, one filled with hope and possibility.

Despite the initial surprise at Kyros's victory over Laxus, the guild members rallied behind their new S-Class mage. The birth of a new S-Class mage was a momentous occasion, overshadowing any individual defeat.

Makarov wasted no time in organizing a celebration. The guild hall buzzed with excitement as everyone cheered and congratulated Kyros.

The celebration was reminiscent of a modern-day festival, with food, drinks, music, and magical performances adding to the merriment. Amidst the revelry, Kyros couldn't help but feel overwhelmed with gratitude. This guild was not just a place of camaraderie; it was his family, his home.

With determination burning in his heart, Kyros silently vowed to protect his newfound family at all costs. Whether facing the threat of the black mage Zeref or the fearsome Black Dragon, Acnologia, he swore to stand against any adversary that dared to harm his guild.
