226 226. Seeing The Truth
Ben, Mira, Bella, & Porlyusica go to Tenrou Island 2 days after Ben asked it. They waited for Ben to compose himself first before they go. Besides, he can't ride any vehicle except the car, after all, so they can't just go.
They will ride Ben's Light Runner because it is fast and can move anywhere, even the sea. But it is stored in Ben's spatial storage mark so only he can take it out. Also, only Ben knows how to drive it because it has many unique mechanisms that are only known to Ben.
"Ben, let's go to the guild first and tell everyone that we'll leave. They will be worried if they can't find us after we left," says Mira.
Ben just nods and doesn't say anything. He takes out Light Runner then they all get in the car. Ben takes the driver seat, Mira & Bella take the front passenger seat while Porlyusica sits behind. Then they go to the guild and everyone there comes out after seeing Ben's car.
"Mira, where do you want to go? Is Ben alright now?" asks Macao.
"He is better now, don't worry. We will go to where the island was. It's hard to believe what we just heard so we want to see it ourselves," says Mira.
"Are you sure? Will you be okay?" asks Mina, one of Ben's disciples.
"We'll be fine, so don't worry. Please take care of the guild while we're gone," says Mira.
"Alright, leave it to us. Just don't do anything rash and stay safe out there," says Macao.
"Wait! I want to go too, please take me with you," says Romeo, Macao's son.
"Romeo!?" says everyone in surprise.
"Please, dad, it will be fine. These 2 will be with me, so I will be safe. They are S-Class Mages, after all," begs Romeo.
"But," says Macao worriedly.
"It's okay, Macao. I will take care of Romeo," says Mira.
Macao thinks for a while before nodding and says, "Then, I'll leave Romeo to you. Romeo, listen to them and don't do anything on your own! If you can't do that, then I won't allow you to go out again."
"Alright, I promise," says Romeo as he enters the car's back seat.
Mira says farewell and then the group leaves the guild building. Everyone in the guild is worried but they can only let them go. It's their right to know the truth, after all, and the best way to know it is by seeing it.
The group leaves Magnolia and moves fast to Hargeon Port. Porlyusica & Romeo who had never ridden the Light Runner before are very scared by its speed. Mira tries to calm them down but they can't calm themselves with such speed.
When they reach Hargeon Port, Porlyusica & Macao get down to puke. It's really worth praising how they can hold it until they reach Hargeon Port. Well, they were too afraid to even think of puking on the way here.
Unluckily, they still need to ride the Light Runner again on the sea. They ride the Light Runner in boat mode and it jumps very often because of the waves. It makes the 2 scared again even though they aren't as fast as they were on land.
Luckily, they don't need to suffer for too long because they reach their destination soon. They've reached where Tenrou Island once stood. But just like what they've heard, there's no island there, there's only sea.
Ben has checked the map that AI Chip has recorded so they aren't in the wrong place. They all have gloomy faces and Mira even starts to cry, making Bella cries too. But Ben still hasn't given up and he wants to check the underwater.
He transforms the Light Runner into a submarine and they dive. Ben uses his light magic to light up the dark sea depth. He overdid his magic and make the underwater really bright because he wants to see everything.
They can see many kinds of life forms and things in the sea. But there's no trace of Tenrou Island at all. There's only a trace of destruction on where the island once stood. The seafloor is caved in and it was caused by Acnologia's attack.
Now, they are sure that the island has really disappeared. They go up again and Ben finally can't hold his emotion anymore. He cries loudly, followed by Romeo, Porlyusica also sheds some tears after seeing the fact herself.
But as he cries, Ben suddenly feels a strange sensation. It makes his cry stop because this sensation is very familiar. He can sense Wendy's & Carla's magic power even though it's very faint and almost untraceable.
Ben knows it isn't just a coincidence, he really hopes it isn't. So he closes his eyes and concentrates then spread his magic sense to find any magic source around him. Then he really can sense Wendy's & Carla's very faint magic power, but he also feels something strange.
"This is," says Ben with a confused tone.
"What is it, Ben? Do you find something?" asks Mira hopefully.
"Yeah, I can sense Wendy's & Carla's magic power. I can even sense Elfman's, Lisanna's, and everyone else's magic power. But their magic power is very faint and I can't sense it all the time. There is something here that prevents their magic power to come out," says Ben.
"Really? So they are safe?" asks Mira happily.
"Maybe, the chance is high," says Ben with a very relieved tone.
"Why do you think so?" asks Porlyusica.
"My guess is that someone used an unknown spell to protect them from Acnologia's attack. The most possible culprit is Master because he must know many types of Magic and Spells as a Wizard Saint. I don't know what spell that he used, but it must be very powerful that no one could find it so far," says Ben.
"But how can you find it?" asks Romeo.
"I think it's because I'm a Fairy Tail Mage and have a very strong magic sense. Our guild marks aren't just decorations, they are linked to each other and can help us find each other. Also, I have a strong bond with Wendy & Carla. If Bella & Mira have a strong magic sense, they will be able to sense it too," says Ben.
Everyone is relieved because now they know that their friends & family are alive.
"But what will happen next? When will they come out?" asks Porlyusica worriedly.
"I don't know, I can't predict it unless I know the spell that was used. But I'm sure that the caster has thought about it and the spell will be released one day. It can be in a few days, weeks, months, or even years," says Ben.
"Can't we do something about it? It will be fine if it's just for a few days or weeks, but what if it takes a few years or even decades?" asks Mira.
"We can't, for now. We need more information about this so we need to find out what spell was used. After knowing it, we can find a way to dispel it," says Ben.
"That's... How will we find it out among so many spells in the world? Also, if it's a hidden or forbidden spell, then normal Mages like us won't have any chance to find it," says Mira.
"Don't worry, I will find it and get them out of there. I will also get stronger, strong enough to kill a Dragon. The one who causes this, I will surely kill him. I am a Dragon Slayer Mage, so I need to have the power to slay a Dragon. But I haven't slain any Dragon yet, so I'm not a true Dragon Slayer. I will slay Acnologia and become a true Dragon Slayer," says Ben with a firm tone.
"I'm sure you can do that. But don't force yourself too much, alright?" asks Mira worriedly.
"Mira is right, there's no use to be that strong if you aren't fine. You should know that there are people who are worried about you too like how you are worried about them," says Porlyusica.
"I know, granny, I never plan to hurt myself. Never have I hurt myself just to get stronger," says Ben.
The others aren't convinced but they don't say anything and Mira just asks, "But how will you find the used spell?"
Ben looks at the sea and says, "By becoming a Wizard Saint."
