13 Chapter 13

POV: A Brief Explanation of Curses.

Infinite magic turned out to be quite a complex form of magic, if you can even call it that. Controlling the curse is a challenging task for any human, but not impossible, especially for me.

Months have passed since the day I discovered the cursed energy, and I haven't stopped trying to harness it. All I've been able to achieve so far is a somewhat clumsy version of the "blue" and a rather awkward rendition of "infinity" around me. It might not seem like much, but these techniques have tremendous potential. Let's start with the blue:

I don't know how it worked for the real Gojo or what Gege Akutame came up with in their world, but here, this technique functions as follows: Cursed energy, in the form of infinity, enhances the deviation toward negative numbers. Thus, it creates a semblance of space distortion that "pulls" everything in its surroundings towards it, grinding it to bits.

Why just a semblance, you might ask? It's simple. To create a genuine space distortion that's strong enough to attract objects at a sufficient speed and force, the mass of this cursed energy in one point must be far greater than what I currently possess. I'm no mathematician or physicist, but I can guess that the mass of cursed energy in one point should roughly equal the moon, compressed to the size of an average apple. I'm simply not capable of something like that because infinity is not a conceptual ability; it's more like a property of cursed energy that potentially affects space. It's like time magic – to make it work on the world, you need either the strength of a god or pay a huge price for it.

Next is the "infinity" that surrounds me. In the Eastern Forest, I already created a kind of shield, but it wasn't true infinity, just a simple wall, a basic use of the infinite, for minor manipulations and spatial distortions. If you're strong enough, you can break through that shield. For instance, Mira, who taught me how to use "cursed energy" for a while, managed to do it without expending too much effort. But we'll get to Mira eventually.

The "infinity" I've created, as I mentioned earlier, operates on the principle of Achilles and the tortoise paradox. But it's one thing to understand how this paradox works in theory, how it looks as numbers on paper, and quite another to bring it to life. There were many problems with this, unlike the blue. There, I could at least visualize a black hole and orient myself somewhat, even if it was only approximate.

But what do I use as a reference point to create a concept where I'm a conditional "0" in the surrounding space? How do I make it so that directed objects like spells, weapons, fists, and other unfriendly things from enemies aim at me without ever reaching me? – A serious question.

I had gone through countless explanations in my head about the theory of space and other stuff they taught me in school during physics and astronomy classes. I had also followed various TikTok channels dedicated to space during those times when it interested me.

I found myself piecing together fragments of how space worked. How could I increase the distance from A to B while visually keeping it the same? I couldn't just stretch my "infinity" field to infinity in the real world. Yes, I could simply elongate the space between me and an object, but that wouldn't be Gojo's kind of infinity. I couldn't infinitely stretch and compress this space simultaneously to create an infinite shield with a small radius visible to others.

Then I remembered something called the "Mole's Hole," and it clicked for me. What if I elongated this space (not for real, just a simulation), created multiple points, and brought each of them closer to each other, but without connecting them? This way, onlookers would see that the distance to me is just a few centimeters, but in reality, they would have to navigate an endless stretch of time to reach the desired point.

In other words, I transformed the surrounding defense into a semi-unfolded harmonica of infinite size, within a limited area. Why semi-unfolded? It's simple: firstly, it's easier for me to control the spell this way, and secondly, it creates the effect of a gradual slowing down of hostile attacks.

Maintaining this ability for an extended period is a challenging process, especially for someone who has been practicing magic and cursed energy for less than half a year. Still, the end result pleases me. It's all about experience and habit.

That's how I arrived at my variation of Gojo's ability from the Magical Battle. I'm not sure how similar they are, but that doesn't matter. Now it's my story, my body, and the abilities that the other Satoru possessed have become mine as well. So, changing, expanding, or not using them at all is entirely my choice.

POV: Present Time

"Hey, guys, we're under attack!" the mages shouted when they saw me, knocking out the jaw of one of the members of the dark guild known as the "Yellow Moles." Some of them grabbed weapons charged with something, while others activated their spells.

"You might be wondering where I am right now," I asked the imaginary spectators in my head before grimacing. «Damn, I should probably stop doing this; schizophrenia isn't all that fun, especially in my case.»

I entered a small, bunker-like building, constructed within a mountain. Fortunately, it was surrounded by an illusory barrier, the magic of which allowed me to detect them with my own eyes.

"The Yellow Moles" had become one of the most annoying dark guilds in the magical world, despite their relatively small size compared to other pillars of the dark world. For a considerable time, they had been terrorizing many cities and small light guilds. On top of everything, these people were involved in slave trading, kidnapping, and eliminating mages from other guilds.

Yet, despite all their crimes, no missions to capture or eliminate them had ever been issued. Not a single one. This begs the question: why? It's simple – the Council didn't let them appear. You see, these idiots decided to handle everything on their own, to demonstrate their influence and independence from the "private" guilds. But, as always, they blundered.

We would never have known about them if they hadn't been the ones to hire the thugs and send them into the eastern forest of Magnolia half a year ago, while I was performing my first mission outside the city. Although I've completely disregarded what almost happened to me then, I'm even grateful for their assistance in mastering that cursed energy. But that doesn't mean I shouldn't get rid of them.

These morons recently attacked Natsu and gave him a severe beating. If Gray and Erza hadn't been nearby, he would likely have either died or been abducted. There's no forgiveness for that. In response, the Master acted the same way he did after the incident in the Eastern Forest, demanding the bandits' execution under the law after obtaining the information. Thanks to this, we located the approximate whereabouts of this dark guild.

"Have you made it here already?" Mira scoffed somewhat disappointedly, seeing my electro-gravitational appearance. "They seem rather feeble; I thought a guild as bothersome as this one should be at least a little stronger. What do you think?" The devilish figure in the form of an innocent-looking girl smirked mischievously, knocking out an ordinary wizard with a bare fist without even glancing in their direction.

"Are you still bothered by that? I thought we settled it back then," I replied with a warm and tender smile. "I even baked you a cake as an apology for face-planting in the dirt."

Despite the warm smile, my narrowed eyes held a sadistic glint. Memories of how I had managed to defeat this cheeky girl for the first time just days ago made my heart tremble.

"Stick your cake up your behind, pretty boy! Even when I'm drunk and hopping on one leg, I can bake better!" The girl flared up, transforming into her devilish form. Her still terrifying strength instantly incapacitated the horde of attackers.

"You were lucky I defeated you then. If it weren't for that damn Erza, your face would be in the ground. And why the hell did that tin can distract us in the first place?"

To her aggression, I only smirked. Her words didn't bother me; in fact, she was right in some ways. I had never been able to beat her on my own. I was fortunate that her magic required significant magical energy, of which she had limited resources to maintain her strongest form. Though my infinity was also quite stamina-consuming, my reserves of cursed energy and magic provided immense potential for future development. My strength was challenging to master, but with practice, everything would fall into place, and I would grow like a snowball rolling downhill.

Additionally, one shouldn't rule out the possibility that Erza had unintentionally distracted her, giving me the chance to deliver a finishing blow. However, right now, the outcome of a battle, whether victory or defeat, didn't matter to a member of my guild.

What mattered was that over the past six months, I had physically and magically strengthened myself. But that didn't make me all-powerful. The path to power is far from swift. Even with my talents, it would take many years to reach the pinnacle. To make headway, I had challenged Gildarts to a battle in a week. Some may think I rushed into it, and in part, they're correct. However, I did it for a simple reason: I had serious suspicions that he could break through my infinity. Perhaps this sparring would provide me with the key to making my power more conceptual.

"You two still bickering, Mira, Sato? We're friends, after all, and friends shouldn't argue over trivial matters," Erza entered the building, the last member of our hastily assembled group.

In her hands, she dragged a burly man by the collar as if it were a sled in the winter. He was clearly unconscious, and judging by his physical condition and the distinctive guild tattoo of a golden crown, he wasn't the least important member of their guild. The signs of battle on Erza spoke for themselves; she had been the strongest among those we encountered in this place.

"Who's the dog here? You foolish tin can! You think you can school me just because you beat their leader?" Mira clenched her fists for a while, ready to pin her companion. "Are you picking a fight?"

"He's not the leader, Mira-chan," I quickly interrupted their clash. "Yes, he's quite strong, and judging by Erza's bruises, he put up a good fight. But their guild master is most likely..."

I didn't finish my sentence before the wall was breached with such ease as if it were made of cookies. A massive creature burst onto the scene, delivering a heavy blow with its fist. This beast tried to take me down in one hit, but to its dismay, I had seen its furious approach, or rather sensed it through the walls, and was prepared to activate my infinity.

Author's Note: Hello, everyone! I'm Enryu, thanks for reading!

First, this is a world adapted to Fairy Tail, and powers and abilities have been tailored to fit within it. So, the spells, cursed energy, and other elements adhere to the rules of the Fairy Tail world.

Given this setup, you might wonder how the main character ended up in the world of Fairy Tail, why they possess cursed energy, and how it works in the context of Fairy Tail. All of these questions will be gradually answered as the story unfolds. Each question will receive its answer. That's all for now. Smooches to the belly button!
