There's something about Ms. Rosy

Another danger arises. It is school time once again while summer is not yet over. These five eager kids went to school as early as class started. They will meet a new transferred teacher from another town. Ms. Rosy, a bulky mid-thirty old maid instructress with thick eyeglasses, one can easily mistaken her for a nerdy type but the way she dress was so lousy. At her first day she seem so nice to her pupils. "Good morning class", she uttered with a friendly gesture in her voice. The whole third grade class greeted her back and welcomed her with a smile. Their introduction of themselves followed, Ms. Rosy narrated that her parents lived abroad with her only brother. She did not get married for she loved teaching as her profession, it was a short talk before asking the children to stand up and say something about their whereabouts, kids are so excited they were all giggling and happy. When it is Olivia's turn, Ms. Rosy is not listening so she asked her to repeat her short speech. Olivia as usual jolly talks about her grandmother who lived with her alone along with her loyal pet dog Snowsnoop. In this part, Ms. Rosy carelessly inquired Olivia with her parent's identity. The pupils reaction was lame; they are being straightforwardly clever...silence grew within the room, breaking...it's a hearty laugh from Jane while Olivia could not speak still. It was a sad gesture from Alex's eyes who made Olivia felt better when she crossed her friend's way. By that very hour almost everybody from that class are whispering as if they knew the answer. Ms. Rosy was agitated by all the jesting and noise. "Ok Olivia, take your sit if you can't say anything anymore" she said. Olivia sat with an anxious mind, her old granny guardian never said anything about her parents. Her friends never bothered to question her either. After class session Ms. Rosy asked Olivia to stay in her room with her while every pupils was all gone. " How come you did not know your parents,?" , it was a sarcasm, a very goofy bad word from a tactless teacher. Olivia answered with a shaky voice. " Ms. Rosy, i'm not feeling well today, so if you could just excuse me and let me go home now that will be very nice of you." " and besides my grandmother is waiting for me sorry that i can't tell you everything about my family, why don't you talk to my guardian. If you want i can bring my grandma with me tomorrow." A very long explanation from Olivia. Ms. Rosy awed by the girl's speech, " oh, you seem so smart in your age, no, i'm not going to talk to your grandmother, it doesn't matter, forget about today ok". You may go now, she ended. Outside, the four mischievous friends are waiting, with Alex who first reacted, "what happened Livy? " (Livy was Olive's nickname) , " what's wrong with that smartass new mad oldmaid?" Debbie added, "yeah she was awful and scary, like a witch", and everybody laughs. Except Olivia,Jane made a suggestion for the gang, " if you want tomorrow i'll put two ugly frogs inside her bag while she's in the toilet during our recess." Alex disagreed, " no don't dare do that, later Livy will be in more trouble." To cheer Olivia everybody offered her a part of their recess leftover sweets they took free from the school canteen. They went home that day with different thoughts. Some think of getting even with that foolish old lady. " Hi granny , Olivia greeted her grandma when she arrived home. "How's your first day in school ? Her grandma replied. " It's ok, just our new teacher is a freak." The old lady asked," how come?" Olivia sadly told her everything, " i don't know how to answer her when she asked me about my parents, granny where is mom and dad?"are they dead?" For a moment her grandma thought about the river, she kept it as a secret for so long, then she blurted it out. "YOUR PARENTS LEFT YOU, with me from my sister's town" she lied. They are also farmers and they can't afford to take care of you so they moved to another town where we can't find them, she explained. Then Olivia almost cried, " how can they just leave me like that?"" do they hated me?" , she was almost angry. " Well Olivia, you know sometimes we couldn't have all the answers to all our questions, but when you grow up you'll understand." A frustrating words from the old woman.
