42 Chapter 42: Little Wraith

Chapter 42: Little Wraith

~Rou POV~

Currently, I'm spending one of my days off after yesterday when little Wraith asked me to help him develop his Dragon Slayer Magic on the subject.

I didn't realize we even had a Dragon Slayer in the past especially someone that involves the use of Souls before if the knowledge I acquired is to be believed by Wraith's words.

If so, then he must be the Magic Counterpart of the Spirit God Slayer I got a few days back, or at least similar to a fair degree.

Regardless though he explained to me how his Spirit Dragon Slayer Magic works.

Spirit Dragon Slayer Magic is a Caster Magic, Ancient Spell, Lost Magic, and a type of Dragon Slayer Magic that utilizes spirits.

Spirit Dragon Slayer Magic is a form of Dragon Slayer Magic that allows its user to generate, manipulate, and consume like other forms of Dragon Slayer Magic the element in question, which in this case are spirits.

With this Magic the user gains spirit-like abilities and, if they are a ghost, cannot be heard or seen by anyone other than a Dragon or a Dragon Slayer.

The user can also attack their target with the souls of the dead, remove soul essence from others' bodies, remain intangible like a spirit, giving them immunity to any corporeal attacks, and be able to inflict physical damage onto their target whenever they choose to even if their target is also intangible or not.

However, the user's intangibility is ineffective against other beings that also have an ethereal form, making them susceptible to their attacks. Their ethereal form allows the user to phase through solid obstacles, the ability to flight as well as having the ability to possess anyone.

To a fair degree, it sounds really powerful type of Magic.

The kind of type that makes me wonder how he obtained it.

There are plenty of ways to do so but I'm a rather curious person since you can only get that kind of magic through various means.

But it had me curious where he learned of this type before because last, I checked Magnolia wasn't near any Dragons living one's anyway.

Wraith asking me to help him had my curious peak.

It's not every day that I get to train a Dragon Slayer of my generation.

Although I'm curious how he managed to obtain such a powerful Dragon Slayer Magic, to begin with, so I agreed to train him in some combat practices a bit.

Like that, we are here in the back of my home nearby the forest area in the outskirts of Magnolia cracking my neck and asking the kid, "Alright Wraith before we begin can I ask where you learned Spirit Dragon Slayer Magic?"

At this, he gulps before replying with genuine confusion on his end how he obtained it surprising me by a lot actually, "Gulp… well you see mister Ake-san… I wasn't always able to use magic when Blue Skull was around. I was an orphan with no magic but one day I couldn't stand not being able to eat anymore… I thought I would die if I didn't get something in my so… I ate the Dragon Bones that was once on the Kardia Cathedral eating it and somehow, I was able to see and eat spirits to survive Ake-san…"

What?

My eyes widen at this walking around a bit before pondering on how before I realized to a serious conclusion, "Oh… oh, oh! To clarify you ate portions of the Blue Dragon bones before you were magicless. But in doing so did you by instinct know what nature your magic was and able to cast them?"

Wraith nods slowly at this as I couldn't help but be amazed.

I mean I did my own scientific research on the subject myself

The idea of magicless people obtaining Magic by eating the flesh of a dragon dead to the bones or not all it requires is some small portions of it to require their power if that's the case then Wraith is very well a fifth-generation Dragon Slayer.

Oh, fifth generation Dragon Slayer…

Blinking my eyes, I then talked to Wraith to be wary of going into Dragon Force before I begin training him in a serious tone, "Oh right… before we begin sparring, I suggest we start on what not to do with your Dragon Slayer Magic Wraith. And whatever you do NEVER go into Dragon Force for your sake."

Getting genuinely confused he replied to me why he mustn't go into Dragon Force, "Ok Ake-san… but can I ask why though?"

Sighing at this I responded to him with an explanation of what Dragon Force really is.

When a Dragon Slayer enters Dragon Force, they effectively turn into a humanoid Dragon, gaining reptilian scales and traits, such as further elongated, and sharper, canines and scale-like patterns on their skin.

According to an old wizard, Dragon Force is the final, most powerful state a Dragon Slayer can attain; granting them power comparable to that which a real Dragon possesses: the power to utterly destroy everything.

Dragon Force greatly increases the damage done by standard Dragon Slayer spells and grants the user access to more advanced, powerful attacks. It also drastically enhances the user's physical prowess, and speed, and considerably boosts their Magic Power, which becomes visible, taking the appearance of a Dragon.

When exuded at its fullest, said Magic Power takes on a violent corporeality, likely as a result of the immense amount of Magic Power employed.

Listening to my explanation Wraith seems to be stary-eyed wanting to use it talking excitedly to me, "AH! So cool…! But why can't I use it Ake-san? It sounds like something I should need to train right?"

Once more I sigh at this kid's excitement.

Oh, boy was it something like this for Anna taking care of Dragon Slayer kids?

Oh, Caramba.

Shaking my head, I began to explain seriously to Wraith listening intently shocked why he couldn't go using his Dragon Force under any circumstance, "In normal cases, it would be possible but unfortunately though you can't. You are considered to be the Fifth Generation Dragon Slayers, those who have devoured Dragon flesh or cannibalism of other Dragon Slayers, are capable of freely entering Dragon Force…"

His eyes only shined brightly stary eyed excited that he could go free but then I talked about the serious consequences making him freeze on the spot of what I had to say, "However, it has been stated that the use of Dragon Force is forbidden as it differs from the previous generations since it hastens the drawback of using Dragon Slayer Magic, turning the user into an actual Dragon with them becoming berserk from the process. When activating their Dragon Force, their body and muscles become bigger and their overall appearance becomes more feral losing themselves in the process."

Wraith could only gulp as I sigh explaining to him lightly and not losing hope that he could accomplish to complete the Dragon Force in the future, "Look Wraith I know you are probably disheartened about this, but I wouldn't lose hope just yet. From what I heard that someone in Guiltina that someone is being self-taught being a Dragon Slayer with some effort retaining his Dragon Side while keeping his humanity intact."

His eyes shot up with a hopeful glint in his eyes seeing that the path of his Dragon Force isn't all closed asking me, "Ake-san… you mean there is hope for me to enter Dragon Force without becoming the berserk rage of a Dragon if I learned from this guy?"

Laughing lightly I replied to little Wraith my honest opinion on the matter the years of him completing should be soon enough pointing up 3 fingers, "Of course Wraith. But currently, he still hasn't mastered it yet. But by my guess… hmm… I say 3 more years before he perfects it. By then he would probably help you train your Dragon Force. I'm considering going to the Guiltina to meet this Wizard being the Guild Master at Magia Dragon."

"So cool…!"

Wraith gains a starry-eyed expression seeing me giving this guy some hope.

It's not too impossible since I'm considering training to be a Law Dragon Slayer because of how useful it is to me.

Law Dragon Slayer Magic is the very one that Elefseria taught himself this Dragon Slayer Magic, but like most Dragon Slayers, the extensive overuse of this Lost Magic transformed him into a dragon.

The element of law is the power of information, having all-knowing knowledge of the magic world. Through this Magic, he claims to have learned about the Magic world's 'negative legacy', a certain Magic weapon comparable to Etherion and Face that no humans of the current era ought to know of.

But I'm not so interested in that weapon no human of this current era ought to know but rather the knowledge of the world itself.

It's essentially like the Akasha Records Nerf version here or the most OP Google search engine of Magic known in this world.

Hahaha…

Interesting idea to be sure.

I for one can't wait till the time comes though, and hopefully, in the near future, I would leave a legacy or famous mark on history.

Now that sounds like an interesting idea isn't it?

But now though…

Turning my attention toward Wraith raising up my arms in a gripping motion with a smirk on my face, "Alright then Wraith! The first rule of physical combat is to be prepared for any attack and training the mind, body, and soul!"

"Aye! Rou Sensei!!"

*Zzzzz*

Like that, I began to train Wraith personally to make sure he becomes someone strong enough to defend himself in the future.

Nothing wrong with the training and helping a fellow Guild Mate, right?

Who knows?

I mean I could always have an apprentice someday to have my teachings passed on but they would need to require certain criteria I need them to meet.

But till then though I would focus on the present and hopefully the future would be better handled to the dangers ahead.

After all, this is what us older generation has to do and pass down knowledge to the newer stronger generation.

~Third POV~

[X???]

"ROARRRR!!!"

Loud roars of dragons could be heard throughout the lands of the once-standing Kingdom of Fiore as a young man gazes over with a frown on his face, "Tch. The days keep getting worse day by day…. If only Rou sensei-san was here what would he do…"

*Beep*

"Spriggan Commander Wraith!"

Placing his finger over his ear on his earpiece, this is Future Wraith as he salutes to the remaining forces of the Alvarez Empire about its current state, "Report the status condition of the Barrier protecting our Empire soldier!"

Saluting in response the soldier coldly swallows his spit as he responded to one of the remaining Spriggan Commanders, "The barrier… I'm afraid it won't last till one more week before the Dragons start to migrate here… the Emperor has gathered remnants of Avatar in an attempt to fight a last stand against Acnologia along with Irene, Wall, Bloodman, and Invel... Spriggan Commander Brandish μ perished by hordes of Dragons led by Rogue controlling dragons..."

Pausing at this horror-stricken on Wraith's face recalling another but wipes away the tears off his face, "Wait then my own kid…. No… Brandish μ…"

Holding his time raising her to the side he shook his head and remained to focus not to be distracted at a time like this.

Sighing his breath standing up Wraith looks at the barrier with a defeated expression on his face before the final embers of spirits ignite his soul, "I see… evacuate everyone to the underground. I'll reconvene with the remaining 4 Spriggan Commanders with our Emperor over and out. And be safe."

"Roger…"

*Beep*

Ending communication through his Lacrima Wraith silently cried tears knowing the kid he helped picked up in the Alvarez Empire died in a mission sent for her to do as he spoke to himself, "Rou sensei… if you were still alive could you have made things differently… if we had someone like you or Mavis would things have turned out this way for us…"

Turning to see the destroyed Crocus roaming with Dragons Wraith merely sighed and left returning to the final fight he would ever participate in in the vein hopes of defeating a super-powered Acnologia…
