Chapter 35: Second Trade War… (3)

~Third POV~

Elsewhere in a small prayer area resembling an altar of sorts offering was a young man kneeling on what seems to be a statue of a Water-like being as the man took a knee.

Making a silent prayer he stopped sensing a powerful figure as his eyes looks up to see a water figure shining brightly in tinted black water speaking to him, "Ragi Uquerous. I see my vassal Water God Slayer praying to me."

The water figure is known as the Water God Arausio as the young man Ragi places his head down responding, "Of course. It's only natural to take respect for my Goddess. If it wasn't for you saving my life I wouldn't be here today my Goddess."

Pleased by his answer Arausio then gives a command to Arausio entering the Second Trade War to investigate a possible God Slayer, "Very good my vassal. But I have a humble request Ragi… I wish for you to investigate this unknown God Slayer… a God has been summoned but never came as we didn't feel this God's Magic Power. From what I've seen through the water it's a talented little fairy."

Ragi merely nodded agreeing to see, as other Gods like to place their God Slayers against each other for their amusement, authority, presence, or protection.

And sensing a new or unknown piece on the board some Gods have ignored or taken measurements to ensure they protect or destroy their roles of power.

After all the most arrogant of beings are Gods that like to show off their peak in power, destroy threats, or protect their supporters through their Slayers.

They each have their own respective domains and territories they have to protect and gather the belief of others to depend on their power.

The more their God Slayer spreads their tales the more followers and belief of people the stronger and more influential their reach are in Earthland…

~Rou POV~

*Chomp*

Biting down on some chocolate to relax my nerves we've already hurry up on the mission we've been assigned.

It was a week's time like Mavis said we are now in the middle of a battlefield of Wizard Units throwing at us Magic Bolts along with a different variety of enemies here soldiers or Wizards.

I can hear the cries of people wanting to take my life.

"Come out and die like a man!"

"You came here better to be prepared!"

"Charge!!"

"Die!!!"

Sighing at this I began to look at my hands with one in a snapping motion and the other holding the Philosopher Stone in the other.

Truly these people really want a death wish.

It's honestly sad how this war will turn out in the end and the loss of life will result out of this meaningless conflict.

*Snap*

"Fzzzz…!"

*BOOM*

"AHH!"

Snapping my fingers using Fairy Alchemy to transmute the Ethernano in the air into the combustible fire causing a chain reaction explosion at my enemies, locations thanks to Explosion Alchemy.

Using Kimblee Alchemy is very effective in war-like settings such as the time I live in.

Truly strange times indeed.

"AH!"

"NO!!! KENNY!!!!"

"THAT FUCK KILLED KENNY OUR GUILD MASTER!!!!"

"YOU BASTARD!!"

And from the sound of the cries on the battlefield ignoring the small fries with a glare I see the town I was usually sent here on personal request reduced to ruin.

And I really liked that town.

This was once a peaceful and valuable town I used to visit under the contracts of Miner Guilds for stone resources and rare minerals for me to study along collect to make my own tools.

All of that gone.

After I made some personal effort helping the people here and gathering useful minerals to study gone because of the fat noble bastards for trade rights.

Sigh...

Standing up using a style to change the components of my body I call Body Transmutation a technique allowing me to change to an element of sorts having the properties of it.

One would say really Chimera Transmutation changing my body to gain the effects of said element like turning my body into smoke bypassing physical and majority magic attacks easily with no fear.

But like I said though most attacks that can get through my body will bypass most normal attacks, not certain ones that can counter my element.

Dusting myself of the debris and the scent of smoldering ash and burnt flesh in the air I checked my pockets taking out some sweets to help relieve my stress if I would die here or be lucky to live and fight another day.

It's to help not to rely on smoking or alcohol when I'm stressed or depressed about the scene in front of me as sweets help push those thoughts away.

Don't need a repeat of the past nightmares of Tenrou Island to plague me again hopefully, these sweets will help ignore some of the scenes I'm seeing here.

With the number of deaths, I can safely say I have sinned a lot to use to create the Philosopher's Stone in my hand.

That one I can say is up for debate especially for someone like me in the war taking lives is a sin and using it to fuel my Philosopher Stone dangling around my hand would make me the enemy in the eyes of many if they found out how to create the Philosopher Stone… if the world knew the truth.

And I intend to keep that dark secret with me to the end.

My inner thoughts were interrupted as I heard the cries of the enemy old man enemy Wizard yelled, "Here's one! Quick get this –"

Pointing at him as I use my Archive Magic, I soon digitized a mouse and shot out a command aiming for the enemy head, "Archive: Hack."

*Pew*

"Ack—Thud"

"Archive: Download."

Shooting a digital-like arrow from the mouse at the enemy mage's head I 'hacked' into his head forcibly gaining any information while the download bar shown is gathering all of their contents into my Archive as he spasms and flinches.

Using Telekinesis Magic I brought the man towards me as his unstable with a simple chomp to the neck to stop him from moving.

I did a lot experiments of using Archive Magic: Hack to hack into their cerebral nerves collecting their experiences and memories immediately followed by Archive: Download to take in all information they have in their heads.

*Beep*

Oh?

This guy is apparently a master of the Amaterasu Magic.

Nice.

I'll create a Spell Book for that one in the future.

Ending the info gathering opening up my screen as I view the contents casually walking right into enemy fire as they began to fire at me with multiple spells at me, "Hey! There's the enemy unit take him down!! Now!!!"

"Fire Magic: Flame Arrow!!"

"Acid Magic: Putrid End!"

"Gas Magic: Gas Spear!"

"Stone Magic: Fuji Pour!"

"Water Magic: Water Splicer!"

"Wood Magic: Wooden Hammer!!"

"Ice Magic: Icicle Hawks!!"

*Zzzz*

Changing my body composition into Smoke Alchemy I walk towards the groups of Wizards launching at me attacks as all of them simply phase through my body leaving not so much as a scratch as the holes of my body are filled up with Smoke as I grinned at them, "Good hits. Now my turn."

*Kaaat*

Clasping my hands together and touching the ground I transmuted the whole ground into volleys of cannons and walls as I ordered my command, "Fire."

*BANG*

*BANG*

*BANG*

*BANG*

The cannon balls were soon shot into the Wizard Units making me frown at the sight of this madness of war as blood and body parts were scattered in front of me with a neutral expression but deep down terrified of what I'd done…

Easy mission they say.

So very easy to take down the enemy Wizard units…

Nothing in this war is ever easy.

The body counts are going to be so misinformed because of the number of people I used to create the Philosopher Stone in my hand as I place it around my neck acting like a piece of jewelry in plain sight.

The people here could be bad or good and yet I didn't care because I know that I would be taking their lives with me since in war the care for life doesn't matter since I will make sure they won't be returning back.

The thought honestly disturbs me but I knew deep down it was necessary because it all comes down to me or them.

And my self-preservation is always key along with seeing her face again helping me push past this hellish nightmare of smoke filling my lungs and nose of burnt corpses.

As long as I return to her intact and sane I don't care how I get this job done with.

Taking my eyes on the enemy Mages some of them are able to defend themselves as they rush at me with close-range weapons I grip open my hands combat ready, "Really should've taken the easy way out by cannon. This will hurt a lot more up close."

"DIE! YOU FAIRY DEVIL!!"

*Woosh*

One attempted to slash me with a blade made of fire but with me being a smoky human body right now only passed through me as I caught the wizard's face and activated deconstruction to his internal organs.

*Zzzz*

"Blegh?!!"

Bleeding out from his eyes, mouth, nose, and ears his blood and brain matter leaked out as he died on the floor instantly with no life in his eyes anymore as I focus my gaze on the remaining forces walking towards them.

They all took a step back seeing how I easily dealt with their friends like it was nothing till one of them finally responded stupidly, "H-hey! His only one man! One wizard as we are many!! We can take him and avenge our fallen!! Brethren for the promise the Feudal Lord Ostradomies says! WE FIGHT!!!"

"FIGHT!!!"

"FIGHT!!!"

"FIGHT!!!"

"FIGHT!!!"

Glaring at the idiot sending these men to their deaths I was ready to deal with –

"Lightning Magic: Thunder Bolt!"

"Green Magic: Uproots!"

"Chain Magic: Shear and Tear!"

Suddenly 3 forms of magic from behind attacked the crowd of enemy Wizard units killing them with the electricity of Yuri Thunder Bolt, ripped apart by Precht Chain Magic, and Warrod providing them no escape and taking out some casualties by dropping down pierced by the wood he summoned using Uproots.

One of the enemy wizards began to shake in fear calling out the names of those three in the battlefield with fear, "No… way… Warrod the Wooden Terror, Yuri the Lightening Daredevil, and Precht… the Man Slayer… fuck…"

Seriously?

I raised an eyebrow at how those guys have the time to give us these names but not bother to improve.

Sigh…

Idiots all of them.

Smirking at this I tilted my eyes towards the 3 with me talking as the enemy Wizard Units took a step back in fear now, "Took you guys long enough. Were the enemy forces too much for you to handle?"

They smirked back with Precht snorting replying back to me against a large number of enemies lecturing me, "So says our reckless friend walking straight into danger? Wasn't our leader supposed to be the reckless one and not you?"

Laughing nervously at this I couldn't refute that one.

Next, Yuri raises his fist in the air as the electricity around him pulsed to life replying to my earlier question, "And who do you take us for Rou? Of course, we kicked their asses!! We're Fairy Tail Wizards!! Now about the small fires…"

Turning our gazes at the remaining enemy Wizard units they all gulped audibly at this with Warrod giving a cold stare as he spoke to them, "Listen. If you surrender now you will be taken as prisoners of war. You can either serve your time or we will do what's necessary. And trust me I would rather you guys live for a new tomorrow than die today. So… what's your choice?"

They all looked at each other as they all nodded activating their Magic with pure hated eyes directed at us leaving me to sigh at this with no choice but put them down unless I want a Tanya situation of revenge seeker, "Sigh... just know this you guys wanted this to continue when we gave you an out. Don't come blaming us for what happens next."

*Shiii*

All of their magic circles ended using Dispel as the Precht, Warrod, and Yuri all nodded as they were fighting to the end which would signal, we have to end them.

Such a shame.

*BOOOOM*

/////

*Thud*

"Huff…"

"Huff…"

Panting tired from moving around we took care of the group of Wizard units as we were tired with Precht giving us the go-ahead to return, "Huff… alright. I think that should do for the enemy Wizard units. It's time to return to base as there is nothing left for us to do."

Warrod and Yuri both nodded in agreement as did I with us walking back but I took this chance to get a breather in talking to them, "Huff… sorry but could you go ahead. I'll catch up I just need to catch my breath."

They looked at me concerned but ultimately trusted my judgment leaving me with some free time to recover before I continue following them.

Taking something out of my pocket I smiled still holding half of the Phoenix Stone that I kept for a few years while meeting the previous holder.

Never got the chance to ever use it for the last few years because of the War and the attention it could bring so I kept this on the back burner.

With every mission and recovery time into training, I never had the proper chance to fuse the Phoenix Stone to anything or transmute it into another Philosopher Stone but of MUCH greater power.

But a part of me says I shouldn't…

At the very least not yet anyway…

At some time in the past, I thought achieving immortality would be great to outlive and explore the world but…

No.

Shrugging at this regardless though I'm in no rush to test that idea out I'll simply find out when I have the genuine chance.

Besides, if that fails, I did my reading through some of the enemy Wizard Units spells into my Archive before killing them off.

I put down the Phoenix Stone away as I have better things to do, best to meet up with the rest of the guys.

I have a war to win.
