~Rou POV~
After Mavis assisted me with her advice, we took this back to the Guild Master Office discussing the possibilities of how Duke Barbaros managed to use Smoke Alchemy bypassing the Law of Equivalent Exchange.
The first thing we did was go over my side of things from a scientific standpoint and the elements needed to first change the feather pen into smoke and how impossible it is to do so.
Putting my argument on how it's impossible what the Duke did with my version of Alchemy as it's made up of using existing elements, to begin with.
Listening to my ideas Mavis put on a thinking persona as she sits on her chair acting like Sherlock Holmes when I showed her the movie about the man or Cased Close taking on thinking in her chair in full concentration.
That might've been my bad but hey she seems interested in a murder case mysterious along with characters wanting to know why they do the things they do.
And she got better at thinking and focusing that way maybe…
After a bit of time, Mavis finally talks to me with a curious glint in her eyes, "Say Rou… you said you have been looking this through from a scientific standpoint yes…?"
Slowly nodding my head I replied as I hold my hand over my head rubbing my hair, "Yeah? What? Was there a problem in my theory or hypothesis in my blabbering?"
Surprisingly enough though she nodded her head.
Ouch…
But I'm open to all ears right now.
Like that, she began to point out a flaw that I've been missing since I only look at this issue with an alchemic view of it as she raises her finger raising her eyebrow, "Have you considered transmuting the Ethernano itself?"
The Ethernano?
Blinking a bit surprised Mavis saw my expression as she smirked replying to me with determination in her eyes, "It's just as I thought. You were so focused on the other elements in the atoms or other particles that you forgot the most important one. Then again this is simply natural after all since you never once considered using Ethernano in your Alchemy, right?"

She got me there.
I never considered using Ethernano in my Alchemy because it was Magic by principle, not science so wasn't used to the idea of ever bothering – wait.
Why haven't I thought of it before…

I think I just realized why, and I feel stupid because I never noticed it before.
The problem is how I looked at it by Full Metal Alchemist standard of science.
That and having Edward's memory of always looking at the world through an Alchemist's eyes kind of put my world perspective like that to a fair degree.

My eyes soon turn to Mavis as she has a smug expression on her face as she talks to me, "Oh? Looks like you figured something out. Heh. Am I the best or what?"
Rolling my eyes at Mavis's antics I couldn't help but scoff at this but at the same time smiled finally figuring out a breakthrough, "Yeah. Yeah, all hail our princess of the fairies. Still though what you said did leave me a new idea to test out…"
Sitting down on my swirling chair Mavis blinks at me tilting her head at me confused before contently smiling next, "Princess of the fairies? That sounds like a nice name to have. What ideas do you have working in your head this time?"
Smirking at this bringing out my research notebook about Alchemy I flipped the pages over as I talk to her, "Thanks to you Mavis I think I figured out how that noble bastard did his trick. If not, then maybe something even better."
"Something better huh?"
She smiles at this as I go over how Wizards use their Magic Power to manifest.
To utilize Magic, a Mage must use the Magic Power in their body, which is composed of Ethernano, the source of Magic Power for all Mages. Every Mage has a container of Ethernano inside their body that determines the limits of their Magic Power.
In the case that it becomes empty, Ethernano will come from the atmosphere and enter the Mage's body and, after a while, their Magic Power shall return to normal.
I made my research about how to convert Magic into Alchemy but couldn't figure out for the life of me what was I missing till Mavis pointed out Ethernano.
I was completely engrossed trying to use the common elements back home that I missed the vital one possible to make Magic manifest possible, to begin with.

Going towards Mavis she gets nervous a bit as I place my face close to hers blushing with her heartbeat increasing ever slightly, "What are you doing Rou –"

Giving her a kiss on the lips she gave me the idea and breakthrough I needed to make my Alchemy reach a new height as I let go with her face beat red, "Mavis you a genius brilliant beautiful woman you are!! You just gave me the – Huh?"
Before I could continue any further, I waved my hands across her face as concerned, "Uh… Earthland to Mavis? Do you read me? Hello…"
Fuck… she's knocked out cold.
Was a kiss mouth to mouth only touching the lips too much for her?
Well… it looks like it was too much for her to handle.
Maybe she might remember later or dream the whole thing up?
Placing her to a nearby makeshift bed knocked out I couldn't help but really thank this girl immensely for the idea she introduced to me.
Returning to my desk with my notebook research I began to write down what was in my head about how to convert Ethernano into Alchemy turning Magic itself into a useable fuel-based Alchemy.
Magic is a supernatural force that occurs regularly in everyday life, is used as tools, and is bought and sold all over the world. It is also the main form of art or combat utilized by Mages.
Magic has been around for centuries. Every type of Magic comes from The One Magic, the original source of all types of Magic.
The One Magic, also known as The Essence of Magic, Primordial Magic, or The Magic of One, is the original source of all forms of Magic that comes from the emotion of love.
The One Magic, even with the ambiguity associated with it over time, has its believers share a common theory regarding it: that it is the source of all Magic Power, an omnipotent power. It was later revealed that the source of the One Magic is the emotional feeling of love.
In the canon story after Mavis Vermillion's curse of contradiction began to consume her, she was able to kill both her and Zeref Dragneel, two immortals, breaking their curses by showing a reflection of love towards the latter, even later transferring their essence to revive Makarov Dreyar.
Now that's some OP-level shit or plot armor right there.
Though to me an infinite means to use Alchemic energy from the very air itself because of how what's the word… limitless.
Yes, the limitless would-be terms are used here.
But when you consider what Magic is though it just makes me want to figure out how to convert it into my own means.
Magic as it's all known is the physical embodiment of the spirit. When the physical spirit of an organism connects with the spiritual flow of nature, the spirit forms Magic as a product of the connection.
The same could be said about Alchemy or rather using their own soul or… life force.
Though Magic goes beyond reason, it is still born of reason and it takes an enormous amount of concentration and mental ability to use it. One's magical powers are also tied to one's life force.
Only ten percent of the world's population is able to use Magic, which is noted to keep a balance between ordinary people and those with Magic. According to Zeref, one's strength of feelings places an important part in Magic.
But because the True Magic here in Fairy Tail is the emotion of love.
Now trying to tie that with the realms of science is hard enough but here lies the question then what is the emotion love and how does it relate to souls?
No rather the better question I should be asking…
Does emotion come from the soul?
Putting this in philosophical terms, the soul is ultimately the source of consciousness, emotions, and desires, but sometimes the soul acts unthinkingly.
The emotions and desires that we experience currently can come from three sources:
-1 The body and external world.
-2 The mind and…
-3 The soul proper.
Although I could really say that the emotion of love in this case or the True Magic in this world is the Ethernano itself if my philosophical answer is to be believed then and this theoretical mind you…
I could practically create anything out of Ethernano so long as I know what I'm making in the end.
Alchemy makes me deconstruct and reconstruct matter at the molecular level of atoms or particles so long as I know the general element containing them.
Atoms are the smallest units of matter that have all the characteristics of an element. Atoms combine to form molecules. Atoms are composed of smaller particles known as protons, neutrons, and electrons.
Ethernano is the term coined to name particles of Magic.
Ethernano dwells inside all living organisms, the Earth, and throughout the atmosphere. Nobody knows when Magic began, or how Ethernano originated. To utilize Magic, a Mage must use their origins to act as containers to use their power since Ethernano is the source of Magic Power for all Mages…
Ethernanos contain all sorts of different elements and power, including fire…
Turning my eyes over from my research notebook to my hand I began to use my Alchemy of using my Gate to transmute the Ethernano in the air into pure iron…

Such a violent reaction!
The sparks of Alchemic energy being produced as the blue energy turned purple instantly as I see a more purplish color similar to the Arc of Embodiment creating something out of their imagination but me…
I'm transmuting the existing Ethernano in the air into something already within its element it contains which in itself is a mystery and versatile but is used to fuel every Magic spell known to Earthland…
Fire, water, earth, wind, darkness, light, smoke, space, time, gravity, wood, sword, iron, diamond, gold, lightning, and so much more…

Dropping into my hand as I finished the transmutation of using the Ethernano with the use of my Gate my eyes widen seeing a pure iron chain as I rattle it amazed, "What the hell… this… this is something else…"
Even I'm amazed at such a result…
The Duke said that Alchemy could even transmute abstracts such as examples of love, bonds, smoke, fire, or even gravity.

Changing my arm into smoke via transmutation I can see it turn into smoke but remains around my arm like it should as I feel myself being moved as I undo the effects.

So that's how that bastard did it…
He transmuted the Ethernano itself because everything in this world was first contacted with it in the world as it relates to everything in this world…

Shaking my head, I can't assume that it's even the same answer but regardless though with this new Alchemy style made by combining Magic and Alchemy, it should deserve a name…
Turning my eyes around to see Mavis as I turn my sights on my hands it was all thanks to her that this was possible…

Although it could also merely be Ether Alchemy or mainly Magic Alchemy.

But suddenly a blue particle small wave from Space Between Time began to burst open once more of the actions of the past reflecting the future of events undergoing…

Like that suddenly the whole town changed as the light blue wave from the Space Between Time changed once more as the once destroyed town was still destroyed…
And yet the Fairy Tail original building kept standing tall rebuilding itself again with Future Ghost Mavis departed seeing the destruction, "This is horrible... all this carnage and destruction... and yet..."
Future Mavis eyes to what was the second Fairy Tail temporary Building but instead was home as her mind flashes memories of her and someone else living there.

Future Mavis Ghost Fairy Tail Emblem shined brighter tracing to the building ahead with a determined look on her face, "I don't know why but... the Enchants on the Emblem are telling me to go there... somewhere inside that home I don't know why but... I feel like one of my fairies is there and... something else that will help me change everything but I don't know what..."
Having a gut feeling Future Mavis took it as she went ahead to enter the home formerly of Rou Ake and Mavis Vermillion...
