Chapter 15: Fairy Tail Zero (3)

~Third POV~

It was now late into the night as Precht and Warrod now returned to their small humble boat as they began to discuss the morning events meeting the islanders of Tenrou Island Rou and Mavis to each of their opinions.

Precht began to discuss one of their own taking along the two kids in their eyes with them to reclaim their island treasure, "Does Yuri really intend to bring that little boy and girl with him?"

Warrod on the other hand openly smiles at more invitations to help as they could be surprised what the two have in store their own secrets, "Mavis she seems really smart. She may be of more use than we thought. The boy Rou however looks well-trained living here if his muscles were to go by. Might be stronger than Yuri since living on the island filled with dangerous Magical Beasts with the meat and monster parts are to go by."

Precht nods as the two investigated the area and found some lying monster parts material useable that could only be made if the Magical Beast were hunted down.

Precht gazes his eyes on the night sky observing the full moon shrouded by clouds as he replied to Warrod, "As far as I can tell, those two been living here all alone on this island. Who knows what those two could be hiding?"

Warrod himself couldn't help but agree with Precht's assessment of the two islanders being weird and unique in their own way from their first time talking to them.

Mavis is reckless but kind and bright with an innocent air around her.

Rou is careful yet suspicious towards them but has this older maturity that Mavis lacks in guarding her.

The two laughs at this internally thinking one of them had to grow up to take care of the other and mulled over their own thoughts on the matter to themselves.

Inside a private home that was formerly Mavis's farm home turned into an actual living home for the two of them Yuri contemplates with the two true intentions, "So what exactly are you two really after."

Mavis for her part genuinely replies her response to Yuri's true intentions of joining them, "I'm really after the Tenrou Jade."

Rou replied his part genuinely to Yuri as he packs up his belongings as well for joining them, "I'm here to make sure Mavis is ok and sightsee outside our home."

Yuri leans to the back of the wooden rail with his eyes close replying to both of them, "The boy's answer I get. But you never noticed it was gone for 7 years. Can it really be all that important? To us, it's an S-Class treasure you know…"

Mavis pouted a bit before finally responding to Yuri's reply with a determined expression on her face, "Of course it is! It's true that I never noticed. But aside from that, it's a good chance to get out and see the rest of the world. For both me and Rou!"

Rou merely smiled at Mavis's response with Yuri nodding at this before questioning their ages in a curious tone, "Alright then… so how old exactly are you two anyway? You both seem to be around the same age."

At this Rou packing up some herbal medicine along with some poisons responded to Yuri turning around to face him in a respectful tone, "Mavis and I are actually of the same age of 13 years old by legal standards adults. Anyway, thanks for playing with Mavis to have someone else interact with her."

Mavis pouts at this but didn't deny it with Yuri looking amused at the two islanders' interactions Mavis thanked Yuri for the next adventure in their lives, "Anyway though we look forward to traveling with you! This is gonna be so much fun! Let's go! We're starting an adventure!!!!"

Yuri for his part merely smiled being under the spell of Mavis's optimism along with Rou finishing packing his belongings of importance to him as they already began to head towards the next chapter of their lives…

~Rou POV~

*Thud*

We finally landed on our latest destination feeling the fresh sea air hitting my face as I couldn't help but be in awe finally leaving Tenrou Island.

I could've always left but I suck at navigating the sea also, I can't leave Mavis alone but the feeling of being free has certainly tickled my sensation of getting outside.

We already changed into different attire as Mavis couldn't help looking at the port town of Hargeon ironically enough the Town where Natsu meets Lucy in the future.

The buildings look medieval with normal day people working on carriages along with flags hanging around as I listen to Mavis being surprised, "Wow! This is amazing! Look a fisherman I bet he's good at catching fish!"

Laughing lightly behind as I scratch my head replying to her amusement, "He would have to be if he wanted to be a fisherman."

Yuri looked at us as he responds with actual shock even a small bead of sweat off his face, "I guess this really is the first time you've been off the island. That's surprising."

Turning my head towards Yuri with a shrug I replied back we couldn't have with a sheepish grin on my face, "Well to be fair though I and her don't know much navigating at sea so it was more likely us getting lost in the middle of nowhere. We're smart in some areas just… not navigation in seas."

Yuri laughs at my sheepish honest response about why we couldn't have left Tenrou Island which unfortunately navigating seas was something we weren't good at surprisingly enough.

Seeing Mavis going towards the map I checked it out seeing some places for us to go towards I see some weapon shops, food, and merchant markets of what they sell as I couldn't help but smile at the places.

Maybe I can find some Celestial Keys or Magical Items that could be useful in the future.

Or perhaps some blacksmiths within the area of –

"Hey!"

Turning my head towards Precht walking away from Warrod's words calling to him as our eyes glued in on him, "I dislike traveling with any children I cannot trust! I will go gather information on Blue Skull from this town. You find lodgings."

I already know where this is going.

Mavis soon volunteered as I dumped our load to Yuri much to his dismay, "Wha—hey!"

Listening to Mavis volunteering I heard her as I followed after the two sighings mentally at her recklessness, "I'm going to go with him!"

Hurrying up to get the two attention sighed out loud but the smile on my face betrays my excited thought, "Sigh… oh no you don't! Not without me at least! Thanks for taking care of our stuff, Yuri!!"

Soon we followed after Precht tagging along much to Yuri's dismay cursing me as I returned him the middle finger when Mavis and Precht's backs were turned out of Yuri's earshot distance.

Yuri is a fun guy to mess with.

Still though…

Gazing my eyes around the people seem to be in pretty bad shape considering their malnourished bodies along with them trying to be cheerful despite the oppression they're in honestly.

Is that going to be like that with other towns we pass by here?

This really takes things into perspective of how wild and crazy everything is here in the past that the anime nor the manga took the actual explanation of the surroundings till they were finally made true.

Power corrupts huh?

Makes me wonder what things are going to be like actually in the future…

I talked to Mavis much about the trip with Precht giving us the silent treatment till we finally made it to the bar and entered inside gazing around multiple people shay in origin along with being generic.

Precht soon began to make some small talk about the Wizard Guild as we analyze a pro at work getting information, "Hey barkeep do you have any info about Blue Skull."

The punk-looking barkeep only kept a neutral tone with Precht as we sit back and allow him to do his work, "Blue Skull? Nope! Ain't ever heard of that guild. Clearly."

Turning my back over leaning against the table as I see the riffraff here I gauge them as Precht continues, "Any information would be helpful."

The punk turns around ignoring us as Precht continues further with the Punk barkeep responding back, "Lots of wizard guilds popping up here and there. I can't keep track of 'em all! Clearly. You want milk, you kids."

Taking my off the people here I look at where the guy is keeping his alcoholic ale or milk he actually has some… a nice guy for an enemy but really should learn to keep key terms out of conversations.

Mavis pokes her head out as I lean one of my hands on the table as she replies to him, "No. I want information."

"Hahahaha!"

Next was the rest of everyone here laughing at Mavis's question with the barkeep laughing along with everyone for us to leave, "Just go home, and take yer brother with ya! We clearly ain't ot no dollies to play with here!"

Just as everyone was playing around with Precht about to leave I pointed out taking my eyes off the ceiling, "Sure but how did you know that Blue Skull was a wizard guild? There are many kinds in the world, but you specifically said that Blue Skull was a Wizard one… so either you do know something or…"

*Zzzz*

"Ahh!"

Suddenly I used alchemy on the hand on the table as I reconstructed it to form a wall of stone hitting the man with a broken glass jar got shot through the rest as I finish my words at the barkeep with a cheeky grin, "… you are actually a member of Blue Skull? What luck that everyone is part of your lot am I right?"

"Eh?!!!"

"Magic!"

"One of the brats is a wizard!!"

"We can still take them!"

"He only has one kid and extras!"

Precht looks angry being called an extra considering his an antagonist in a future arc and supporting ones so that guy wasn't wrong.

Well, they ain't wrong as Mavis grabs my shirt shoulder pouting a bit at me, "Rou! You stole my spotlight! It was going to be cool with me figuring it out!!"

I couldn't help but laugh at that as Precht finished kicking the guy from behind I replied to Mavis sheepishly, "Sorry Mavis. How about next time when we aren't in actual danger like right now?"

She turns her head slightly as the whole entire room of drunks pouting but soon smiles at me with a knowing look, "Fine… but the next time I take the center light! Now go ahead and break some legs!"

And this is why I love-- I mean LIKE her as a friend.

Curse you puberty!

Ahem!

Nodding at this I agreed as it was time to clean out the trash.

Better put Edward's training style into good use now time for some Weapon Transmutations.
