15 Chapter 15 : Galuna Island!!

Sitting in the carriage, Everit checked the photos he had just taken.

"Laxus, the combination of Chūnibyō and rebellion, just needs a little adjustment!"

Laxus had developed a quick temper and couldn't stand being teased.

"He gets angry at the slightest tease. How boring!"

But it would be far more entertaining to provoke Laxus once Natsu cured him of his rebelliousness and transformed him into an arrogant Chūnibyō.

For instance, Everit held a photo in his hand. In the picture, Laxus covered his face and grinned as if he belonged to the Uchiha clan.

"Hehehe," Everit couldn't help but chuckle. What would Laxus look like in the future when he stumbled upon this photo, when he had matured or even had a child?

"I'm looking forward to it, Laxus," Everit mused.

Having just returned from a trip, Everit intended to relax. Unexpectedly, Erza barged into his house, kicking the door open.

"Let's go, Everit!"

Erza's expression was frosty, anger simmering on her lips.

"What's the matter?" Everit asked, setting aside his book.

"Natsu took an S-class commission and headed to Galuna Island with Lucy. Gray attempted to stop them but ended up joining them," Erza explained, her tone icy and concise.

Everit refrained from unnecessary comments. Erza seemed like a ticking time bomb ready to detonate, and he had no desire for conflict in his own home.

However, Galuna Island? Everit pondered for a moment.

There wasn't any immediate danger in sight. To Everit, it seemed like just another routine journey.

"Wait a moment," Everit called out.

"Okay," Erza nodded in agreement.

After some quick preparations by Everit, the two embarked on their journey. Erza's strides were purposeful and brisk. Not only was she fueled by anger, but also by concern for Natsu and the others.

There had to be a compelling reason why an S-level mission, assigned to any prominent guild, remained unresolved for such a long duration. Most often, such delays were indicative of perilous situations!

Erza sought out Everit precisely for this reason. While she might have been confident in facing significant dangers herself, she felt a pressing need to ensure the safety of Natsu and the others, especially Lucy.

Everit's expertise lay in efficiently evacuating people from hazardous situations, making him the ideal companion for this mission.

As they reached the riverbank, they rented a boat to continue their journey. However, their voyage took an unexpected turn when they encountered pirates midway.

"Hahaha! What do we have here? A lovely little lady!" one of the pirates exclaimed.

"I was only planning on plundering some gold, but now, I'm tempted to taste you and feel your body."

"Who's that pretty boy?"

"Throw him in the sea and let the fish feast."

Pretty boy, Everit, adjusted his glasses, but before he could act,

*Boom!*

The boat trembled and nearly capsized.

Erza, already seething with rage, wasn't in the mood for chatter. She took a liking to the grand ship, soared up, punched her way through, knocking down all the pirates in under half a minute!

"Let's go," Erza said, turning to Everit on the boat.

"I'm already here," Everit's voice came from the ship's bow. He found a chair and settled in comfortably.

"Let's move!" Erza folded her arms.

"Where to?" the pirate boss asked.

"Galuna Island," Everit replied.

"That cursed place? We wouldn't dare!" The pirate boss shook his head fervently.

"If you don't go, you'll die here," Everit stated calmly.

The pirate boss glanced at Erza, sighed in resignation, and ordered his crew to set sail. The pirate ship outpaced the smaller boat.

As they approached Galuna Island, Everit diverted his attention from his book. Adjusting his glasses, he surveyed the island's surroundings.

Ahead, at the cliff's edge, Lucy tumbled down.

"Lucy!"

Erza was taken aback and yelled, "Quickly!"

The pirate ship surged forward at breakneck speed.

Lucy tumbled onto the beach, shrugging off the fall. However, her opponent, a girl with crimson twin tails, descended onto a colossal stone giant over ten meters tall.

Without hesitation, Lucy called upon Aquarius, well aware of her fierce temperament.

Indeed.

Whether Aquarius was under the enemy's control or Lucy's, she unleashed a devastating attack, engulfing both her enemy and Lucy in a tsunami!

*Rumble*

The tsunami crashed onto the shore.

Dazed, Lucy and her adversary were tossed about by the waves.

As the waters receded, the two engaged in a fierce girl-on-girl battle.

In the end, Lucy relied on her sheer strength—being heavier than her adversary, perhaps also due to her experience cleaning up after a Salamander—and emerged victorious.

However, her adversary had a companion—a large rat—which charged at Lucy. With no energy left to fight, Lucy braced herself for the worst.

"Everit!" Erza called out to Everit.

"Don't worry," Everit, seated on a nearby chair, offered a faint smile and vanished.

On the beach, Lucy watched as the enormous rat leapt towards her.

This is it, she thought, resigned to her fate.

"Aha, I've stumbled upon a lovely blonde," a reassuring voice sounded from behind. Lucy felt a firm grip on her collar, pulling her back and extending the big rat's attack range.

*Boom*

The rat crashed onto the ground and swiftly darted in the opposite direction.

"Everit?!" Lucy whirled around, astonishment painting her features. "What are you doing here?"

"Lucy, can you still stand?" Everit inquired.

"I'm managing," Lucy replied with a nod.

"That's not good. Erza is furious right now, and only Natsu and Gray can handle her if she wants to beat someone up," Everit remarked.

"What do you mean?" Lucy was taken aback.

*Boom!*

A loud noise echoed across the sea, and before the pirate ship could even dock, Erza leaped from it and landed in front of Lucy.

Lucy's breath caught in her throat as she beheld Erza's grim expression.

"Natsu must be acting on his own. I'll go find him," Everit stated before vanishing in an instant.

Searching for Natsu?

That's just a coincidence.

You'll stumble upon him if you do; you won't if you don't.

Everit's main purpose was to locate the demon.

"Huh?"

As he walked, he spotted a diminutive figure.

Short, hunched, with a red devil mask atop his head, yet moving with surprising speed.

Everit trailed him until they reached a decrepit temple.

The temple was in ruins, with many non-load-bearing pillars collapsed. Red crescents adorned numerous places, including the door.

This was evidently the Temple of the Moon.

Everit couldn't recall much of the original storyline.

After all, in his past life, he'd watched Fairy Tail anime as a teenager.

He'd made three jumps when he time-traveled.

And it had been another eighteen years since he'd arrived in this world.

How could he remember every detail? He could only recall some broad strokes.

He remembered that Gray's fellow apprentice was supposed to be here.

Was he within this Temple of the Moon?

Well, let's gather some intel while we're at it.

Everit followed the short figure into the temple.

Before long, he spotted a gathering of wizards.

Among them was a striking figure with white hair and piercing eyes.

The short figure had come to report the latest developments and, incidentally, discuss the progress of a grand plan.

"Tonight, by harnessing the full magical power of the moon, Deliora can be resurrected."

"However, the resurrection ritual must not be disrupted!"
