14 Chapter 14 : Laxus!!

"I don't want to be Everit's enemy," Lucy shook her head quickly. "But... Mirajane, is it Miss Mira?"

The others didn't know each other. She had learned about Erza's strength, but it was Mirajane. She looked gentle and kind. Could it be that she is very powerful, even comparable to Erza?

"Well, it's all in the past," Mirajane smiled softly.

"Well, although Mira is very strong, she hasn't taken action in a few years," Gray said.

"Why?" Just as Lucy was about to speak, Everit put his hand on her shoulder. Lucy looked over in confusion, only to see him put on his glasses and shake his head slightly.

Lucy had the sense to shut up immediately.

"It's begun," Gray said.

"I'm going back first," Everit said.

"Hey, don't you see it?" Lucy asked doubtfully.

"Ha-" Everit yawned, "What are you looking at? It's all over."

"It's over?"

Lucy looked at the field.

Natsu burst out with flames and rushed towards Erza. The two of them had just exchanged a few moves when a frog jumped out.

"That's it, I am the messenger of the Magic Council!" said the humanoid frog.

Everyone was surprised.

But Everit had already left.

It was just a play.

Some time ago, the mages led by Erza fought against Eisenwald. Although they did good things, the battle damaged the station and Natsu burned the rails, which was also blamed on the captain.

The Council was just going through the motions, putting on a show for the public to show that they had control over the Legal Guilds, and the Legal Guild would cooperate to show that they accepted control.

After all, the Legal Guild was not the Dark Guild, and they cared about reputation.

They were going to go there on the same day and come back the next day.

Because of Natsu's troubles.

As a result, Erza and Natsu took a few more days to come back.

This was already the fastest, and all the various processes could be saved.

Who said the Fairy Tail guild was strong?

The Magic Council had nothing to do with this mischievous little Salamander. They were afraid that he would engage in forced demolitions again. Once the investigation was clear, they would release him immediately and let him cause trouble elsewhere.

Everyone was happy that Natsu and others were back.

They gathered in the guild and drank.

"Everit, just stay with Mirajane!" Makarov, who was sitting on the counter while watching everyone drinking wantonly, said to Everit seriously.

"Master, I always feel that you are worried about something very rude," Everit couldn't help but say.

Lucy held a glass of fruit-flavored light wine and looked at Everit standing behind the counter with confusion. "It seems that Everit has never been seen drinking."

Gray remarked, "Don't even mention drinking; he couldn't even touch it. This thing's untouchable."

"Why?"

"Because..." Gray began but was suddenly overwhelmed by sleepiness.

Before him, Lucy and Happy were already sprawled on the table.

"Damn it." Gray tried to resist but succumbed to sleep.

*Thud*

*Thud*

*Thud*

Accompanied by the faint sound of footsteps, most of the guild members collapsed.

Erza fought off drowsiness, kneeling in embarrassment with her head bowed, struggling against sleep.

Everit assisted Mirajane, gently laying her against the wall before settling himself nearby.

He and Master Makarov faced some difficulty but managed to remain awake.

Mystogan, cloaked in black, arrived to take over the mission.

Everit grinned. "Today's a special day. Two heavyweights are here."

Mystogan glanced up and departed, trailed by guild members.

One by one, everyone awoke.

"What happened?" Lucy looked disoriented, having just been roused from sleep.

"Mystogan's here; it's his sleep magic." Gray observed Everit's alertness and remarked, "Only he can resist Mystogan's magic."

Lucy glanced at Erza, now standing, and Everit behind the counter, gaining a deeper appreciation for S-class and Everit's prowess.

She shook her head at Natsu, still sleeping on the floor.

"Natsu," she muttered, helping him up.

She felt stronger, perhaps because she ofter stops a certain hot tempered Salamander. She was no longer the fragile girl.

"Why did he make us sleep when he arrived?" Lucy inquired.

"I don't know, but he doesn't want anyone to see his face. Only those strong enough to resist his magic can." Gray gestured towards the counter. "Probably only Makarov and Everit know what he looks like."

"And me, Gray." A voice emanated from the second floor.

All eyes turned upward.

Only Everit sipped his strawberry-flavored sparkling water nonchalantly as a defiant young man with yellow hair descended.

"Laxus!"

"When did you get here?"

The guild members looked around, confused.

"Here comes the awkward guy," sighed Gray.

"Laxus!" Natsu shouted, waking up. "Come and fight me!"

"Forget it, you couldn't even beat Erza," Laxus taunted.

"What do you mean!" Erza snapped, irritated by his words, but she didn't act on it. Though Laxus' arrogance was grating, it wasn't reason enough to turn against a fellow guild member.

"Accept my challenge, Laxus!"

With that, Natsu leaped up, aiming for the second floor.

'Boom',

Makarov's enlarged arm knocked Natsu down.

"You're not S-class, don't try to go to the second floor," Makarov said, eyes still closed.

"Hahaha, Natsu, you better stay down there!" Laxus chuckled, covering his face.

The guild members grumbled in dissatisfaction, wondering if Laxus' rebellious streak was going to drag on a bit longer.

"Or..." Laxus gradually wiped the smile off his face. He turned to Everit and said, "You wanna give it a shot?"

Everit calmly set down his cup.

"Laxus," Everit's voice came from behind him.

Laxus was startled, his arm crackling with lightning as he spun around and threw a punch.

'Boom'

A gaping hole appeared in the second-floor ceiling of the guild!

Laxus' expression turned serious.

'Click'

The cold barrel of a gun pressed against Laxus' temple. Everit spoke calmly: "Don't move."

"Hey, old man, Everit isn't S-class," Laxus remarked, his smile not fading despite the situation.

"Everit," Makarov finally opened his eyes.

"I didn't head up to the second floor." Everit sat in a particular spot in the hall, raising his cup towards the guild master.

The guild master, seeing this, closed his eyes.

"Laxus, treasure this time and improve yourself, you're quite boring at the moment." Everit rose from his seat and made his way toward the guild's exit.

"Is that so?" Laxus smirked.

Boom!

A deafening thunderclap shook the guild, prompting everyone to instinctively cover their ears!

They witnessed golden lightning streaking towards Everit's shoulder at a speed perceptible to the naked eye!

Laxus materialized within the lightning, proudly placing his hand on Everit's shoulder.

"Everit!" gasped everyone.

Bang!

A gunshot rang out.

Laxus froze as his left headphone cord snapped just above his shoulder.

Everit approached from behind, placing a hand on Laxus's shoulder and speaking solemnly, "Do not turn against your comrades, Laxus. Otherwise, you'll find yourself expelled from the guild before any plan is set in motion. That would be absurd."

Laxus half-closed his eyes as he watched Everit exit the guild gates without further action.

"Hmph."

Once Everit departed in his car, Laxus snorted and transformed into a bolt of lightning, shooting out of the guild. None could catch him.

A collective sigh of relief swept through the guild.
